Fantasy AU where Michele and Sara are lost in the woods but are lucky found by a fairy named Emil that trys to help
“I told you we were supposed to stay on the road!”
“I swear to the figure skating gods, Sara, if you don’t shut up, I’m gonna hang myself on the nearest tree. We’re fine.”
“we’vE BEEN LOST FOR THREE HOURS MICKEY!!!”
“I said we’re FINE!”
“Michele Crispino, we’re lost because of you. If you don’t find the way out in the next 15 minutes, I’ll have to murder you and eat you.”
“What am I supposed to do? Scream for help? You think that will make the road magically appear in front of us?
“Well, at least you’d try to do something…”
*rolling his eyes* “Fine.” *takes a deep breath* “HEEEELP!!!!!!!!!!”
“Did someone call?!”
Michele screams as a stranger appears behind them.
The stranger is really tall and there’s something about him that bothers Michele, yet he’s not really able to describe it.
Michele immediately grabs Sara and hugs her tight yelling “LEAVE MY SISTER ALONE!”
Sara is chill. Even though the strangers’ clothes is very… well… interesting.
“I’m not gonna hurt your sister, no worries! I’m Emil. Oh boy. You’re HUMANS! My first humans! That’s so exciting!”
Emil is excited to no end, it’s his first real job ever, his first humans to help, he just can’t wait and it’s very visible on him.
Sara chuckles at that, the boy is just adorable.
The more Mickey looks at him, he starts to realize what’s going on there.
Emil is too beautiful to be true. The tall, fit body, the light hair that looks as if breeze was playing with it even though there’s no wind in the forest, the flawless, pale skin and stunning blue eyes… Michele stares at him speechless while Sara starts asking if he could get them out of the forest.
“Oh, you’re so far away from the road, I will help you out, don’t worry. Lucky you called, it’s getting dark and there are wolves in here that could give you lots of trouble.”
They walk, Sara keeps chatting with Emil as if he was her old friend and, really, they seem to click so well! Even though there’s something strange on Emil.
He has no idea what a cellphone is, doesn’t get Sara’s complain about “no signal” being there. And when she asks if he’s one of the park rangers…
“You mean the funny guys in strange clothes? No. But they’re good guys, they help us a lot here!”
Mickey starts panicking a bit. What if he’s a serial killer? How comes he knows the forest like this when he’s not a ranger? People don’t live here…
“Sara, maybe we should wait here or something, I don’t trust him…” he whispers to Sara, but Emil hears it.
“No no no, don’t worry!” Emil starts panicking. “I swear, I just want to help you! Gosh… this happens all the time…” he sighs.
“No offence, Emil, but we don’t know you. And you’re kinda… weird. One’s usually warned about people like you.”
“Oh, But I’m not ‘people’!”
“Geez, of course, you’re -special-, just like anyone else, but-”
“No, I mean, I’m not a human, sir, I’m a forest fairy. I’m here to protect the forest. And that means protecting everything in the forest, including the people.”
“Sara, I really think we should go away.”
Sara is getting weirded out, too, but the second she wants to agree with Mickey, they hear the howling of the wolves.
“Come on, we have to get you out of here before it’s too late.”
This time Emil doesn’t ask, he just grabs Sara’s and Mickey’s wrists and starts walking again.
The Crispinos remain silent and Mickey is low-key getting ready for his violent death
It gets dark, so, obviously, Mickey starts complaining about not seeing a shit.
“My apologies! I forgot you people can’t see well. Let me take care of it!”
Emil finally stops for a second and starts singing
It’s the most beautiful voice the Crispinos’ve ever heard, they get chills from it
And suddenly they’re 100% sure Emil was telling truth
A bazillion of fireflies is suddenly around, flying around them to make the way easier for the humans. Emil starts walking again, this time he doesn’t have to grab the people by their hands.
“Can you fly?”
Sara starts another conversation, this time way more curious about everything.
“Of course. Not too high, though. And I don’t really do it. I like walking, feeling the ground under my feet… Flying is too fast, too. You can’t really enjoy the smell of the forest like that.
Until that Michele hasn’t noticed Emil was actually barefoot.
“Some fairies like to hover above the ground, especially when dancing. But I think we should be trully connected with the forest when dancing. You should see all my sisters dance, they’re so beautiful!”
“You have sisters?”
“Of course, fifteen of them!”
“I’m the only boy here. Well, me and my father.”
“Wow. I’ve never really heard of a boy fairy.”
“Someone has to become the king of the forset one day, right?” Emil laughed.
Eventually Emil starts asking the Crispinos what they do.
He’s fascinated by their explanation of what figure skating is and he so wants to see it!
He is very open about everything and at one point he turns around and tells Mickey he looks beautiful in the dim light. It seems like he doesn’t have any boundaries.
“So you -compete- in it? That’s so amazing! But doesn’t it mean you can do it only in winter?”
“Not at all, Emil, see, we have these places, buildings, they’re called ice rinks. And they’re specially made so that we can ice skate even in summer.”
“Fascinating! Have you won anything?”
“Of course! There are even these big competitions where people from all over the world compete.”
“Woah! And you have won that?!”
“I have, once. Mickey hasn’t yet. He’s too harsh on himself, though. He practices so hard and still thinks he’s not good enough.”
At that Emil stops and turns around to Mickey (who is weirded out more than ever)
“Mickey, I want you to remember something. Big things come from little things. Be happy about what you do, give your everything to it and it will happen. See, when my father came here, this forest was only twenty small trees. And now look at my home, you got lost here! I think you are amazing. I can feel it. And you have a lot of love to give inside you. You -will- winn a competition where the whole world competes. I’m sure about it.”
Mickey stayed quiet the whole time. He listened, he tried to understand… All he knew was that the man beside him was the most beautiful creature on Earth and his voice was something out of this world.
Emill leads them all the way to the periphery of the forest. Sara’s phone signal is back.
“Oh my, i’ve got 50 missed calls from mom, I better call her…” she mutters and runs forward a bit.
As Emil and Mickey continue walking, Emil suddenly stops.
While Mickey is out of the forest already, Emil remains standing in between the last few trees with a little sad smile.
Mickey gives him a questioning look, but Emil just shakes his head.
“I can’t leave the forest.”
There’s a little awkward moment of silence.
Mickey looks around to make sure Sara doesn’t look and he walks back, gives Emil a big, sincere hug.
Emil is kinda weirded out, this is not what fairies do, they barely touch. But Mickey seems so warm and loving… so he hugs him back.
“You don’t have to thank me, it’s my job to take care of lost peo-”
“Thank you for all you said to us. You’re so kind, Emil…”
“You two are good people. It was pleasure to have you around. I’m glad you’re safe. I wish you all the luck of the world, Mickey.”
Emil gives Mickey the warmest, most beautiful smile and Mickey is absolutely drowning in his eyes.
“Can I see you again?”
“When you get in trouble in the forest again, just ask for help. I will find you. Promise.”
Mickey feels such strange warmth inside him, he can’t believe what is happening. He’s never felt this good with anyone in the world besides Sara, he’s never seen anyone so beautiful, he’s never been told so many beautiful things by anyone. He’s never felt worthy of any of the things Emil did for him that day.
