in my sophomore year of college this guy made these items which quickly became a craze across campus. i myself bought one of his sweaters, which says “GOOD AND DEAD” across the chest and “ARM PAIN” along the sleeves. he showed up at 11 pm on a bicycle to deliver the goods in the dead of winter, wearing a metal t-shirt tucked into khakis. his facebook screen name is an indecipherable series of symbols. i have no authentic way to credit him but i want to share his art with you.

UPDATE! i was able to identify the artist as daniel guinness. he gave me permission to keep these images up and to include his email address dguinness@mica.edu if you would like to buy one! please support his art :)

SECOND UPDATE! i have received word that dan is not currently making the sweaters! he was able to get a fulltime position somewhere, let’s all cheer him on!!!

“Roommates” (2017)

Well, here it is. My senior thesis, finally complete. It’s been a long, hard road. Very hard. But it’s done now, and that’s what matters.

I haven’t updated production in a while, and there’s a reason for that. During the final month I had to be hospitalized for mental health issues; I lost a week of production time as an inpatient, and during outpatient recovery, continued production was excruciatingly difficult. I was almost certain I would have to take an Incomplete for the class. And yet, somehow, the film was completed on time – thanks to the help and support of friends, family, doctors, professors, and animation assistants. The final version is not quite the quality I had originally had in mind, due to hastened production, but I am more than satisfied with how it turned out given the circumstances. Perhaps I will revisit this someday, perhaps not. I do want to continue working with these characters someday, though.

Progress, Roughs, WIPs, Documentation -> [X]

Alright! Here’s the rough animation of my GGA! Fully completed, but needs some improvement. I’m gonna go back to a few scenes and fix them up a bit.

So yeah, this is it for this semester! Next semester I’m going to cleanup and color everything!

Stay tuned everyone!

This is my senior thesis film for MICA! (2017)

In the Peruvian rainforest, a shy vampire bat named Quilla would like to dance Marinera Norteña with an outgoing long eared bat named Sikuri.

This film took an entire year and I finished it completely by myself. My film had the honor of being included in the MICA film festival!! (2017) I hope you like it!

Kilogram scale book of mica!

Here it is everyone! My second Game Grumps animation AND my senior thesis!

Man, what an incredible journey! Originally I was going to do a Truffle Troopers animation for my thesis, but after what happened at the Game Grumps Live show in Philly (full story here), I changed my thesis to another Game Grumps animation! It was the best decision of my life!

Gotta thank my friends, family, peers, Vernon Shaw, and you guys for all of the support! In times of doubt and frustration, you guys helped me get through it! Thank you so much! It means a lot to me!

Man, I had such a great time with this…I might do another one~

Though don’t expect it in the next few months, I need a break haha!
