A/N so one of my lovely followers popped into my message box and asked for sequel to How Soon Is Now so I decided to indulge them. This can be read as a sequel but also could technically be a completely stand alone story.

Spencer breathed in the cool night air feeling suddenly overwhelmed. He walked a few paces and then stopped, leaning back against the brick building of the bar and just looking up at the night sky. He couldn’t keep doing this to himself, couldn’t keep forcing himself to come out with the team knowing that he was going to be miserable. Something had to give somewhere. If he didn’t want to be lonely then he needed to do something. But he was no good at in person, or at least no good at pick up lines. Perhaps… Perhaps he should give online dating a go. At least that way he could get to know someone first, although knowing his luck he’d end up getting catfished, a term he hadn’t until recently even understood the meaning of.

But still, maybe something would come of it. Maybe he’d connect with someone. Or maybe he should just head back to Nevada. If he simply wanted a physical connection then certain things were legal there. Although as an FBI agent it really wouldn’t do for him to be seen in those sorts of places. He sighed, feeling beyond frustrated.

“You okay?”

Spencer jolted, not even realising he had company. He looked over to where the voice had come from, noticing the brunette that had smiled at him inside standing a few feet away.

“Um… I’m…I…. I’m fine. Thank you,” he managed to stutter out.

The girl rummaged in her bag and pulled out some car keys, glancing back over at him and squinting slightly.

“You don’t look fine. Well… I mean, you’re fine as fuck but you don’t look okay.”

“Pardon?” Spencer was now extremely confused, wondering why this woman was even talking to him.

“I get the feeling you don’t get hit on a lot, do you?” she stepped closer to him, a smirk playing across her face. Spencer shook his head and she continued.

“I thought so. What I said was, or what I meant rather was that you’re fine as in you’re hot, but you look like something is wrong. You wanna talk? I was heading home but I don’t have to leave just yet.”

“I…. erm…. I…. You think I’m hot?” Spencer squeaked, a funny fluttering sensation in his stomach.

“Well you’d be hotter if you smiled and didn’t look so perplexed.”

“So what’s got you looking like the weight of the world is sitting on your shoulders?”

Spencer debated whether to be honest, but he didn’t know the woman at all. But then again, maybe that would help. He sighed deeply.

“I…. erm… Okay it’s hard to explain. But I guess, I guess I’m lonely.”

She raised an eyebrow and pushed her long hair back behind one ear. “You’re lonely? In what way? The ‘I have no friends and no one to talk to’ way or the ‘I wish I had someone to love’ way. Or just simply 'I need someone to fuck that isn’t my own hand way?’” she gave a small chuckle at the last option.

“The latter two… I guess.”

“So go back inside and find someone then. You’re hot, plenty of girls would wanna take you home and ride you.”

Reid felt his cheeks flush red, his face burning hot. “It’s not, it’s not that easy. I don’t find it easy to talk to women.”

“You’re talking to me.”

True, he was.

“Listen, if you want something you have to learn to go and get it. Talking to people you find attractive isn’t the easiest thing in the world, especially when your friends are around watching, but if you want to meet someone in a bar then you gotta learn. Or look elsewhere. Whether it’s just a casual screw you’re after or a meaningful relationship, you gotta learn.”

“Thats easier said that done,” Spencer shot back. If it was that easy then he would have done it by now.

“That’s fair. Look… Do you need a ride home or something? I know I’m a stranger but I promise I’m not a serial killer. And I parked my car a few streets over and need to go down an alley to get to it. Be a gentleman and escort me.”

“How do you know I’m not a serial killer?” Spencer countered, suprised at her offer.

“Because you’ve been in that bar a few times. And I’ve been in the bathroom with the women you go in there with. I know they work for the FBI so I figure you do too. Am I wrong?”

“No, you’re right.”

“So can I give you a ride or are you going to be make me walk down that ally by myself?”

Spencer was originally just going to walk, he didn’t live too far and the night air would have cleared his head. But here he had what he’d been craving for a while now. Attention for a member of the opposite sex. And he wasn’t going to turn it away even if she only wanted someone to keep her safe.

“Okay sure. I’m Spencer by the way.”

“Nice to meet you Spencer, it’s this way.” The woman started walking, her heels clicking on the pavement. Spencer started after her, quickly catching up and walking by her side. She led him down the ally which was brightly lit and not at all dangerous, then made her way across the street to a small blue car. Bleeping it open with her keys, she slid in and waited for Reid to join her.

“So where am I taking you Spencer, where do you live?” she started the engine, turning the radio that burst into life down so she could hear him.

“It’s actually fine, I can walk. It’s only a few blocks.”

“Well you’re in my car now, so I might as well drive you. Where are we going.”

He relented and gave his address, sneaking a look at her as she pulled out into the road and started to drive. She really was quite attractive. He wondered why she hadn’t been up on the dance floor with the rest of her friends but didn’t dare ask.

“What’s your name?” he blurted out, suddenly realising that he was in a car with a stranger, a girl who’s name he didn’t even know but who knew his.

She pursed her lips and glanced over at him briefly before averting her eyes back to the road.

“Spencer, do you think I’m attractive?” she asked.

“It’s just a question. It requires a yes or a no answer. You come across as an over thinker, I’ve only known you for fifteen minutes but already that much is obvious. Don’t over think, just answer. Do you think I’m attractive?”

Spencer gulped before answering, “yes.”

“And when you said you were lonely one of the things you meant was that you wanted to screw someone that wasn’t your own hand, right?”

Where was she going with this? He nodded and then remembered that she was driving. “Y-yes.”

“So it’s much more mysterious for me to be the attractive stranger who accompanies you home to be that someone you screw, if I don’t tell you my name, don’t you think?”

She pulled into a parking spot opposite his building and turned to look at him, her eyes sparkling.

“I mean, if that’s what you want of course.”

Spencer’s mouth opened and then closed again, suddenly lost for words.

“So we’re here. You can leave this car alone and I was just a strange girl that gave you a ride and talked to you for a bit. Or I can come up with you and be a strange girl who gave you a ride but in a completely different sense of the phrase. Your choice Spencer.”

She bit her lower lip and waited, Spencer’s mind going into overdrive before he made a snap decision.

“I choose… I choose the second option,” his voice shook slightly as he spoke, seeing a grin break out across her face.

“Well then,” she switched the engine off and reached for her bag. “Lead the way.”

Your pov:

“Y/N we need to get going if we’re going to make it out of here by dark.” Spencer said. “Why would the unsub lead us here. It doesn’t make any sense.” I said looking up into the brow-eyed young doctor. He shrugged and headed towards the door. “There’s nothing here that relates to him. No bodies, no signs that anyone has been here in at least a few years.” He said trying to pull the door open. “Y/N something is blocking the door I can’t pull it open.” He said anxiously. “What? Came on Spencer that’s not funny.” He ran his hands over his face and groaned. “Do you think I’m joking Y/N? You try and pull it open then.” He said snapping at me. The doctor and I’s relationship wasn’t very, how would you put it, loving. Yeah we worked together but that was strictly it. After cases when everybody wanted to get out and do something, you always steered clear of the lanky boy. “This is insane. Why won’t it open.” I said as I panicked. “Y/N stop pulling on the handle like that it’s going to-” Before he even got through saying what he was going to say, the door handle came off in my hand. “Oh great. Look what you’ve done now.” He said tipping his head back, huffing out a breath. “Sorry.” I said quietly placing the handle down. I walked into the kitchen and tried to peak my head outside. “Um, it looks like we’re snowed in.” I said timidly. He sat down on the couch and rolled his eyes, “Brilliant. I just have to get stuck with you.” He muttered. I let my jaw drop and eyes droop. “I didn’t realize I was that bad.” I said sighing sitting on the floor, not wanting to move towards him. The room fell quiet as I pulled out my phone seeing we have no service. I stood up trying to get a higher point to see if i could try and call Hotch. “It’s not going to work. We are just going to have to wait until the snow melts.” I snapped my head towards him giving him a disapproving look. “Well at least I’m not sitting on my ass. At least I’m trying to figure out how to get us out of here!” I could almost see the fire red flash in his eyes, “I’ve already tried everything you’re doing. The windows are bolted shut and by the looks and feel of then they are bullet proof. So if you want to waste your energy on something I’ve already tried by all means do it.” He said crossing his arms over his chest. “You know what Spencer I don’t understand what I ever did to you that made you hate me.” My eyes fell to the floor as I felt hurt by the thought of him hating me. “I don’t-” I put my hand up to stop him. “Don’t waste your breath on me. It’s going to get dark soon. Let’s just try and start a fire so I don’t freeze to death.”

His eyes were tired and droopy as it neared dark. He looked around for matches in the kitchen while I looked in the bedroom. “I found some!” He said from the kitchen. I nodded my head and snooped around the small area. I opened the closet and dresser looking for any signs of human interaction that this cabin got. So far I had nothing except a bottle of shampoo I found in the bathroom. “What are you doing?” Spencer said making me jump. “Gosh Reid. Don’t do that to a girl.” I said placing a hand on my forehead. “Sorry.” He said coming beside me. “I just found some shampoo, there’s nothing else here.” I said placing the bottle down on the dresser walking out towards the fire. I sat down in front of it trying to warm my body. Spencer resumed his position on the couch, rubbing his hands together. “Hopefully Hotch will come for us.” He said hopeful. I just nodded my head not caring to look at him. My body was cold and aching as I sat on the floor. I closed my eyes and leaned on my elbows taking in the smell of the fire. It took me back to when I was a little girl, always going camping. I pulled my coat closer to my body curing the horrible insulation of the cabin. I felt a jacket being draped over my back, “Here, take this.” He said whispering, sitting on the floor next to me. “I’m fine. You need it.” I told him shrugging it off placing it on his lap. He just sighed and placed it around me once again. “I’m trying to be at least decent.” He said keeping his arms around my shoulders making friction to keep me warm. “That’s nice and all but you’re going to freeze.” I told him finally looking into the beautiful brown orbs. “I’d rather be freezing and a gentleman then be warm and be a dick.” He stated. “Where was that attitude when we got here.” I said commenting back. I heard him sigh. “I’m sorry Y/N.” I let his arms envelope me. His hands came up to my hair slowly running his fingers through the strands. His hands softly gazed the skin of my neck making me shiver. “Spencer your hands are freezing.” I told him pulling his hands into mine. I rubbed his hands in between mine making them warm up. “Y/N it’s okay, I’ll live.” He said pulling away from me. I frowned and scooted towards him. I laid my head on his shoulder and yawned. “You know I like you right?” He told me as he placed his head on top of mine. “Why are you so cold to me then?” I inquired. “I guess I’m just not good with girls you know. I mean look at me.” He said gesturing to his body. “Who would want a lanky beanstalk. No one.” He said fidgeting with his hands. “Come on Spencer that’s not true.” I said pushing into him. “Tell me one person who’d ever like a know-it-all?” I smiled and shook my head. “Well Spence, look in front of you. Who do you see?” I said giggling. “You like me back?” He said looking into my eyes hopeful. “Yes Spencer.” I brought my hand up to his jaw running my thumb over the sharp edges. “Can I um kiss you?” He asked shyly leaning his head down to look at me through his lashes. I giggled and nodded my head leaning in closer to him.

It started as a sweet loving kiss. His lips were chapped from the cool winter air. He tasted like coffee and mint. He smelled of expensive cologne and coffee. I pulled back and smiled at him feeling the blush form over my cheeks. I looked into his eyes feeling a stronger connection. I pushed myself on top of him, straddling his hips. He placed his hands on my face pulling me in for a deep rich kiss. As out mouths battled each others, he bit on my bottom lip softly making me moan into his mouth. He pulled away for a minute and pushed his jacket off my shoulders onto the floor. He grabbed my hips and placed my back on his jacket as he laid in between my legs. His lips came back to mine kissing and sucking on my tongue. His hands entangled into my hair softly pulling at the roots making me groan. His lips traveled down my cheek to my neck, stopping and biting at the delicate skin. “You’re so pretty.” He said kissing my jaw line. He pushed my jacket off my shoulders going down to the hem of my shirt. “Uhm, may I?” He asked looking up at me with red flushed on his face. I nodded my head and lifted my back. His hands traveled down my sides softly touching my skin making it burn. “Look at you oh my gosh, you’re so beautiful.” He said slightly moaning as his eyes scanned over my covered breasts. “Can I?” He said as his long fingers came over my bra squeezing them through the fabric. I nodded my head and arched my back for him. He unhooked the clasp skillfully and kissed the top of my breast. He slowly inched down the material until it uncovered the perked peaks. “Oh fuck.” He mumbled latching his mouth on me. My hands intertwined with his hair pulling. His rough hands rubbed my sides down to my pants looking up at me asking with his eyes. I nodded and lifted my hips so he could pull them down. He kissed up my legs and up my stomach to my lips. “You’re so beautiful.” He mumbled into my lips. He slowly unbuttoned his shirt, taking his tie off. He unbuckled his belt and pushed his underwear and pants off his hips, letting himself go. “Spencer come back I’m so cold.” I said shuddering. “Here.” He said as he laid back over me. He took my coat placing it over our bodies. He kissed my lips softly and intertwined our fingers. “Are you ready?” He asked as he placed his head in my neck. I nodded and parted my legs wider as he pushed inside me. “You feel so good.” He said placing soft kisses on my shoulder. I placed my hand on his back digging my fingernails into his back feeling him stretch out my insides. “Are you okay?” He asked looking into my eyes. I nodded, “Keep going.” I encouraged him. He slowly started to thrust his hips against me. He pushed his forehead to mine looking deeply into my eyes as he went deeper into my core. My eyes rolled back and my moans fell out of my mouth. The sweat started to glisten down my body. “Open your eyes love.” He told me quietly. I slowly opened them biting down on my lip feeling the pressure in my stomach. “I’m almost there Spence.” He nodded his head and started to kiss me as his hips thrusted into me faster. His name slipped from my mouth as I hit my high sending pleasure all over my body. He pulled out of me quickly and finished on my stomach. He laid down beside me catching his breath. “That was so good.” He said moaning still feeling the affects of his high. I simply nodded and kissed his cheek. “Thank you.” I told him smiling and blushing. “Let’s get cleaned up babe.” He said standing up and taking me to the bathroom.

“Hopefully they’ll figure out that we’re here.” I said sitting on the couch cuddled into him. He nodded and kissed the side of my temple. “Of course they will babe.” My heart fluttered hearing the nickname. I was just about to fall asleep when I heard a thump at the door. I looked quickly at the door. “Did you hear that?” I asked him. He nodded his head and quickly got up drawing his gun. “Who’s there?” He asked forcefully. “Calm down pretty boy. Have you guys learned to get along now?” He asked as he kicked in the door. “This was a fucking set up?” I asked quite annoyed. “Sorry pretty lady.” He said winking at me. Spencer took a hold of my hand and scoffed at Derek. “Well at least now I’ve got the most beautiful girl by my side.” He said kissing my cheek. I smiled and blushed. “Well that took no time at all. Good job pretty boy.”
