Cisco Ramon’s life changes when an advanced particle accelerator malfunctions during its public unveiling, causing himself and other citizens (including co-workers Caitlin Snow and Ronnie Raymond) to become meta humans. Cisco investigates the incident while protecting central city with fellow meta-humans.
Illustration of an MG TF signed by the original design team led by Peter Stevens. My legacy from Longbridge.
So the forerunner to the TF was the MG F. A good car that found a niche and sold pretty well (and would have sold bucketloads more if BMW had allowed its sale in the States. Thanks guys.) but quickly became known as a girlie car based on its looks.
When Peter Stevens and co were asked to reskin the F into the TF the brief was to make it a bit less feminine and more aggressive to pull in more male punters.
Given how MG Rover went onto pull out new models on a shoestring (Z models) I wonder if this approach was actually the wrong way to go, if this happened in 2005 would things have gone differently?
Maybe there were two cars here. One an obvious successor to the F, soft edges and clearly feminine. The other a TF with more power, more grills and more aggro. Possibly only in coupe form. Would have been interesting.
