mercy-of-allah

Certain types of sadnesses consume you until you become numb to the wounds. Yet you still smile because you know that crying a river of tears and tormenting yourself with poisonous thoughts won’t erase your pain. It slowly kills you. And only the weakest of souls allow themselves to die. For those who are strong, despite feeling that their whole world has come crashing down and has brought them to their knees, they manage to crawl to the mercy of Allah.

قال إبن القيِّم الجوزية في كتابه الفوائد: العالم كله من بدايته حتى نهايته لا يستحق ساعة من الحزن، فماذا عن حزن الحياة كلها؟

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah said in his book al-Fawa’id: The whole world from its beginning until its end is not worth an hour of sadness, so what about the sadness of a whole life?

anonymous asked:

I was ignorant and I made a lot of stupid mistakes which have left me incredibly hurt. How can I forgive myself? It's just so hard

Assalamualaikum!

We all are sinners.

Have you asked Allah for forgiveness and changed your ways to please Allah? If the answer is yes then you have nothing to worry about - Allah has forgiven you.

Allah has COMMANDED us to not despair in His mercy. Allah is the most merciful and is always ready to forgive us unless when we die while committing shirk. May Allah protect us from dying in such circumstances and allow us to die with the shahada in our hearts and on our lips, ameen.

brother/sister, move on. Just as I said to a previous anon, the attitude of a muslim after sinning is that he/she repents and changes their ways while believing in Allah’s mercy. We should not stay hung up on our past mistakes, we should always be striving to better ourselves. Allah wants us to believe in His mercy and move on. So move on dear brother/sister, move on.

Allah is the most merciful and He hates when we limit His mercy, so do not do that! And so if Allah has forgiven you, then forgive yourself. You cannot imagine the amount of times I have sinned, uncountable sins! But I know Allah has forgiven me because I fulfilled both of His conditions - I repented and changed my ways. Now I do not think of my past that often and when I do, I remind myself of Allah’s mercy and I move on.

Occupy yourself not in the past but in the present. Your past sins do not matter if Allah forgave you, work on the present you and set goals for the future you. Your focus should be on your present and future, not on your past. Set goals for yourself and when you accomplish those you’ll be pleasing Allah and you will feel better about yourself. Reward yourself for accomplishing the goals you set and thank Allah for His help. There is no point of thinking of your past sins, we all learn by making mistakes. We all have sinned, and the sinners who repent sincerely and strive to be better are the sinners Allah LOVES. Make your sins a way to make yourself closer to Allah and those sins will turn into blessings as they humbled you and brought you closer to Allah, and brought you closer to jannah. We can always turn our situation around! Eliminate your bad deeds through doing good deeds.

Have the mindset of optimism! Remind yourself of Allah’s mercy, know that He has forgiven you if you’re sincere, and motivate yourself to do good. This is the attitude of a Muslim.

Your fear of being punished because of your sins should open a door of hope for you, not close it. For Allah has said He will never close His doors in front of you as long as you keep turning to Him. As long as you keep asking for forgiveness. Even if your sins are as wide as the heavens and the earth, His doors will never close. Unless you close them yourself. And they will only close because you despaired of His Mercy.

How beautiful is
The journey of Salah:
When you fall to your lowest
You draw closest to Allah (96:19).
So fall in your sujood and cry,
As you praise your Lord the Most High.

The servant is nearest to his Lord during prostration, so increase your supplications therein.
 -Prophet Muhammad (saww) [Sahih Muslim]

If a praying person knew to what extent he was surrounded by Allah’s Mercy, he would never raise his head from Prostration.
-Imam Ali (as) [Tasnif al-Ghurar al-Hikam]

If you pray all 5 prayers yet you wonder why your duas are not being answered then know Allah wishes for you a higher rank & He’s pushing you to stand before Him when He is the Most Nearest to you - At Tahajjud. This is His way of inviting you to be closer to Him. Do not despair in the mercy of Allah, for He only wishes to increase you in everything.

Day 9 - How to avoid Jahannam

The purpose of this dunya is a test. “Whoever manages to save himself from the fire of hell, and is caused to enter Jannah. That is the one that has truly achieved success.”

Ten methods from the Quran and Sunnah, that can be used to save yourself from the hellfire.

  1. Tawbah (Repentence): Tawbah is an action of the heart, literally meaning “to return yourself to Allah (swt),” because a sin distances you from Him. No sin can withstand Tawbah, Tawbah forgives everything and Allah can forgive all sins, but only if you submit to him. The Prophet  said, “The one who repents from sin is like the one who never sinned.” [Ibn Maja (3240)]  When Allah (swt) created humans, the angels asked him, “Why would you create an inferior species that sins? We are perfect and sinless.” Allah (swt) wanted to reveal his merciful side, that he will forgive even those who sin
    Conditions for repentance:
    - Leaving the sin
    - Remorse over having committed the sin
    - Resolve never to return to the sin
  2. Istigfar (Verbal Repentance): The verbal act of tawbah. Tawbah is a state of mind and heart, while istigfar is manifesting tawbah on your tongue. The most common way is to say “Astagfirullah,” meaning “I seek forgiveness from Allah (swt). Make it a habit to say Astagfirullah100 times throughout your day.
  3. Good deeds: Your good deeds will cancel out your bad deeds. Pray, help others, and give charity as much as you can.
  4. The Dua of others: You can be saved from Jahannam when others make dua for you, especially by your name, but even generically as well. It is a command of Allah to seek forgiveness for all of your fellow believers. We pray for others, so that inshAllah, Allah (swt) will cause them to pray for us.
  5. Hardships: Every physical and emotional pain you suffer will dissolve your sins. Allah (swt) is so merciful and understanding of our pain in this dunya. That is why we must say Alhamdulillah for any suffering, because it is to rid us of our sins. Allah is testing you, so that your sins will be forgiven.
  6. Punishment of the Grave: For major sinners and those who deserve Jahannam, Allah (swt) will punish you in the grave, so that you do not go to Jahannam. Those are punished in the grave, will not know that it is their punishment. They will think that after the grave, they will go to Jahnnam. However, Allah (swt) is the most merciful and sends you to the gates of Jannah on judgement day.
  7. Punishment of Judgement Day: The day of Judgement will not be easy except for those who Allah made it easy for. Allah (swt) will use the suffering of Qiyamah to forgive the major sinners of the suffering in Jahannam.
  8. Good deeds gifted by others: The good deeds gifted by the living to the deceased. A son/daughter, relative, or friend, giving charity in your name, making dua for you, reading the Quran and asking Allah to pass all of the rewards to you. This is why it is important to help and benefit others as much as you can when your alive, because in return those people will remember you and think of you even more when your dead. Your friend will remember, “He gave me a loan last month, may Allah forgive him.” That one sentence will help you when you most need it. Narrated from Abu Hurairah that, “A man said to the Prophet ﷺ, “My father died leaving wealth but no will. Would he be pardoned if we gave charity on his behalf?” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Yes.” Let people remember you only for good and inshAllah they will ask Allah to forgive you.
  9. Intercession of the Prophet : Make dua and say, “O Allah make me amongst those whom the Prophet makes Shafa’a (intercession) for.” Whoever gets it, will go to Jannah. The Prophet said whoever makes this dua sincerely, he will be the Shafa’a for on the day of judgement.
  10. Mercy of Allah: The pure, undeserved mercy that Allah (swt) gives to whom ever he chooses. There will be millions who deserve Jahannam, however for some he will still have the utmost of mercy. Allah has stored 99 to use on Yaumul Qiyamah. The purest Rahma of Allah.
He is waiting for you to return to Him

Don’t let your sins weigh you down. And don’t let them be the cause of you despairing from the mercy of Allah.

Know that Allah will always be there waiting for you with His infinite Mercy and forgiveness even if you slip and fall again and again.

In a hadith it is mentioned that Allah stretches out His hand during the day so that the sinners of the night can repent and He stretches His hand during the night so that the sinners of the day can repent. And Allah will continue to stretch His hand during the day and night until the sun rises from the west.

Subhanallah, how much more beautiful can that get?

He does not need anyone, He does not need our worship, His Greatness does not increase by the whole of mankind worshipping Him. And yet, this Allah is more happier when His servant, when the likes of you and i, make tawbah to Him than a man who found his lost camel.

The biggest blessing is that Allah is our Lord. Because wallahi, who has this much love? He has billions of angels praising Him and prostrating to Him day and night, and yet, He is happy when we repent to Him.

Is this not a Lord worthy of worship? Indeed He is.

So turn to Him. For He loves you and He loves to hear your voice. Even if you’ve never worshipped Allah your whole life but you just decided to turn to Him just this once, He will accept your repentence and surround you with His Mercy.

A beautiful hadith Qudsi:

“O My slave, if you came to Me with an earthload of sins, not associating any partners with Me, I will come to you with an earthload of forgiveness.”

[Tirmidhi]
