So i just finished reading the All For The Game series by Nora Sakavic, and I’m just gonna say it right off the bat. I’m blown away. This series has been a rollercoaster of all sorts of different emotions for me. I will admit I was never driven to tears however their were a couple different instances were I was literally shaking either in excitement or anxiety, It could go either way.
This series deserves more credit in my opinion. There is representation for women, poc, lgbt relationships, abuse survivors, previous drug use survivors, and many more. These three books had some of the best character development I’ve seen, and honestly some of the most interesting characters I’ve read about in a while. To give you an idea of how exactly this series consumed my life in approximately a week, I was about halfway through the first book when I order the second two and I finished the second two in about a day and an half after I got them. I literally couldn’t put them down. I was constantly on the edge of my seat.
The relationships built in the span of three books was remarkable. This goes for all of the characters. Sakavic definitely did a great job at making these characters feel real, and making the relationships between these characters feel natural and in no way did I ever feel like it was forced.
If I had any complaints it would simply be that I had more questions that I wanted to be answers. But, it could very well be that I was not playing nearly enough attention. Sakavic pays excellent attention to detail, with many different parallels and connections that really tie everything together nicely. It could simply be that I overlooked a detail.
So anyways, if your looking for a new book series to read I highly suggest this one. However, I should say there are many different graphic displays of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. As well as drug use, and moments of violence and gore. If these aren’t things that bother you, I would suggest reading these books.
