men in love with me

ok here’s what we can infer about the don/megan wedding
  • peggy was probably there
  • don was wearing a light colored jacket
  • the bride and groom made everyone uncomfortable by either fighting, making out, or both
  • spaghetti cake, a traditional french-canadian delicacy
  • dramatic, “what you call love was invented by men like me to sell nylons” vows

So, other than the Dragon Age fandom (which I stopped directly engaging with when I switched all of my attention to this current one), the X-Men fandom is really the only one I’ve really thrown myself into off the deep end. And the only one where I’ve written fic consistently over a number of years and met a lot of great fandom friends. But is it just me or does it feel like the overall vibe of the fandom has been changing (or has changed) quite a lot in the last couple of years? Like there just doesn’t seem to be any genuine interest or excitement in new fic or art or meta or any of the amazing stuff that the X-Men fandom has always been for me?

I love writing fic so so much, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience - one I wouldn’t trade for the world because it’s brought me back to writing which I loved doing so much as a child/teen. But I really do feel like I’m feeding the void now, and there just doesn’t seem to be that audience out there that really cares all that much about new fic or fanart. I look at all the new fics being posted on AO3 everyday and barely anyone is reading and/or leaving kudos and comments. So like…are the few of us still plugging away at it all that’s left?

Do you ever just cry thinking about how Neil Josten is probably the first person to look at Andrew Minyard like he is a human and not some rabid dog that’s incapable of feeling anything bc I do
