Here’s a video of my poem Instructions on How to be The OtherWoman. The video is beautifully done, and I’m super honored to have been able to work with Sei Henri on this. This video is part of The Memory Loss Project.
We filmed it almost 2 years ago, but it was well worth the wait.
“Chen Qiulin’s work for the past 10 years has been about memory and loss and the impact upon society of China’s political and economic reforms. From watching her hometown being dismantled and submerged in the waters of the Three Gorges Dam, to the devastation of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, she has experienced the reverberations of loss and has been telling this story through her and others personal experiences in various ways and mediums.”
Hi. I kinda need your help. Next year I’m going to work on a big artistic project, I still don’t know exactly what I want to do but I want to work the theme of memory loss. I will probably make a huge book with a lot of illustrations that I’ll make of course myself. I will have a few months to work on it but even if I won’t work on it this year I want to start looking for inspirations. I created a blog http://memorylossproject.tumblr.com/ where you can send me links. If you have movies (like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), songs, paintings, drawings, photographs, books that remind you of memory loss you can share them with me. I don’t want to plagiarize anything but just to be surrounded by my theme and to be inspired.
Thank you if you read everything! I will probably reblog this through this year to remind you! thanks if you are willing to help!!! <3
