memories flooding my mind

Ever since we broke up, I tried to get you out of my mind. I wanted to forget about you.

But the little things got to me. Remember the white daises you gave me when I cried? One tiny daisy was growing at my backyard. Did you see the bright full moon yesterday? I remembered when you showed me the constellations before the meteor shower.

It hurt when the memories unconsciously flooded my mind. My heart ached for once more chance to do it all over again. I want to go back in time and see you again.

I want to go back with us together again.

In the Heart of the Storm (Part 5)

Bucky x Reader

Summary – You are house-sitting for some friends on the Chesapeake Bay in the middle of a hurricane. Unbeknownst to you, you’re not alone. Takes place immediately following the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Warnings – None

Word Count – 1,260

Notes – As usual, I’m taking a lot of liberties with Bucky in this fic.  None of us know just how much he actually remembers, or when those memories starting coming back.  I have a plan on where I want this fic to go, so I need him to remember certain things to get us there.  As always, I appreciate all of your feedback and questions!!!

At the mention of the Helicarriers, his head shot up.  His eyes were wide, and you could practically see the memories flooding back into his mind. “Steve.  Oh my God, Steve.  Is he dead?”

“Steve?  Do you mean Steve Rogers, Captain America?”

With every word you spoke, his face seemed to crumple.  He looked down at his left arm in disgust as he flexed the metal fingers.  “What did I do?”

“Oh my God, you’re the guy that almost killed Captain America.”  You didn’t wait for him to confirm or deny your statement.  Without thinking about the consequences, you turned and ran for door behind you.

You made it to the back porch, your feet mere inches from the grass when a cold metal arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you up against a solid wall of muscle.  His right hand clamped over your mouth as he effortlessly carried your struggling form back into the house.

I visited my old school the other day. The hallways felt smaller, and all of my teachers looked older, the wrinkles in their skin just starting to appear. As I walked through the halls, passing the rooms I learned to read and write in, I didn’t feel like I was at home. It all looked familiar, but felt foreign. These desks were no longer mine to sit in, the secrets I whispered in the cafeteria during lunch were long gone. My artwork no longer hung on the bulletin boards, the combination to my locker had been changed over five times since I last used it. And when I sat on the bleachers in the gym, memories of laughing and crying and whispering secrets and passing notes all flooded my mind. Memories of friends, and boyfriends and girls with too much blush on all filled my mind. Only then did I realize home was never a place. The walls that you grow up in don’t plant themselves in your heart. The people within those walls, sitting next to you through it all, that’s home, they’re home.

Save Me - Part 2 - Chapter 51

My words were caught in my throat, the only sound I was able to make was a wimper as Jared slipped two fingers into my moist folds. My GOD his touch was amazing.

“Still so slick, baby girl.”

Get control, Vivie!!! Taking a deep breath in, I calmed myself enough to answer.

“I was thinking about you, Sir.”

My mouth dropped open and my hand covered his as he began to tighten my clit between his index and middle fingers.

“Ahhh, my god… Sir.” I murmured.

“That’s right baby, I want to hear you.”

Moving along my shoulder, Jared left soft, wet kisses as he slowly made his way up my neck. Nipping just under my ear, his breath fluttered across my damp, sensitive skin causing goosebumps that made me shiver.

With his lips against my ear he whispered, “I have never wanted anyone as much as I want you. You mean so much to me, baby girl.”

His sweet words were barely registering, all I knew was what my body was feeling. He wanted me and I wanted him. I was utterly consumed with desire.

“I want you..” I whispered as I turned my lips towards his. “I need you, please.”

Pushing his hips forward, his solid cock slipped between my thighs, warming the skin it sat upon. His teasing was so intense.

“I’m yours baby..”

I was a quivering mess as he released my clit from between his fingers and traveled downward to part the lips of my pussy. With his middle finger, he began to circle the very outer edge of my entrance, the sensation maddening.

With my grip around his wrist tightening as the seconds ticked by, my nails dug into his skin. The desire to be filled almost overwhelming, I subconsciously pushed my hips towards his hand and begged.

“Please, Sir. Use your fingers in me. Please…”

No matter how hard I pushed his hand towards my body, he was stronger. Begging wasn’t working, he wasn’t ready to give me what he knew I wanted most.

This was pure torture.

“Do you remember the first time we were together, the first time I touched you. I did this very same thing.” He began. I was practically in tears trying to control my body, the memories of that night flooding my mind. “Do you remember what I said?”

“Please Sir, please!!!”

“I told you the only thing I wanted you to feel inside your gorgeous pussy was my cock.”

I thought I hit the jackpot!!

“Yesss, please, yes…” I moaned.

Pulling his hips back just slightly, his cock brushed against my pussy and I prayed he was lining himself up with my opening. As I waited anxiously to be filled with every inch of his length, he continued to circle my drenched entrance. I could feel my juices trickling down to my puckered hole then onto the sheet under us.

“You’re so wet, baby…” he murmured, “I can’t wait to slid into that beautiful pussy.”

It was honestly borderline embarrassing…well if I had my wits about myself to care.

I waited and waited. Instead of doing what I desired most, Jared pulled back just enough for the wide head of his cock to slip back to my puckered hole. His wide tip snugly cradled at my tight entrance, I tried to relax.

“I love that I have all of you.” He purred as he pushed his cock a little bit harder while still circling my opening with his fingertip, “Every beautiful inch is mine.”

Pushing his hips forward just slightly, it was just enough pressure to trigger sensations. Not knowing what he was going to do next, seriously upped my level of anticipation.

“Yes Sir, yours.” I said, my voice barely audible.

Being already slick, Jared’s tip easily began to push through my tightness. His breath quickened, I knew he wanted more but he stopped as he reached the edge of the first rings of muscle. Concern for me trumping his desire. He knew if he continued without any preparation, his width would without a doubt cause damage.

“Does that feel good baby?” Jared asked, thrusting his hips slightly creating a thumping against my tightness.

“Yeessss, yes…”

I could feel the walls of my pussy throb and the pressure on my puckered hole only heightened my senses. Circling my opening once more before he trailed the very tip of his index finger to my engorged clit, I knew what was coming and I feared it would push my body beyond what I could control. Using just the edge of his nail, Jared began to softly flick my sensitive nub.

Bolts of lightning shot through me, every muscle now tense. My legs stiffened and I pushed myself into his chest, tilting my hips up as vibrations shot through my body.

“Ohh. Myyy. Goood…. please, Sir, please… I can’t! Pleeeaasseee let me cum!”

I was almost hysterical and teetering on the brink.

“You may…” He replied.

The last syllable hadn’t even left his lips before I let go with a deep moan, instantly toppling over the edge into ecstasy. My body jerked in his arms as wave after wave of my orgasm pulsed through me.

Just as my body was starting to come down from that amazing high only an orgasm can give you, I felt Jared tuck my arm under his then roll on top of me. In one smooth motion, he took my hands above my head and pushed my legs wide with his own.

“One more, baby girl..” Jared said, bringing his forehead to mine.

With a hard, swift motion, he buried his length in my pussy, neither of us able to hold back the moan that escaped. My eyes clenched shut as I waited for my body to adjust, I was still so sensitive having not fully recovered yet.

“Look at me.” He sternly commanded.

My eyes instantly fluttered open.

I was mentally prepared for him to take me hard and fast. That’s what I thought he wanted as he roughly positioned me. My arms were still pinned above my head so tightly I couldn’t even turn my head.

But the moment my eyes met his, something changed.

Jared’s tense body softened. Still deeply embedded in me, he tilted his hips and relaxed his on mine. Easing his iron clad grip on my wrists, he shifted onto his elbows resting his palms against my cheeks as his thumbs caressed my skin. With a swipe of his tongue across his lips, he leaned forward to kiss me tenderly.

Jared’s tongue slipped between my lips, deepening our kiss further as he scooped the back of my neck in his left hand. Pulling his hips slowly back, his gentleness allowing me to feel as his cock moved within me. Taking his right hand to my knee, he lifted it giving me the ability to wrap it around his waist as he thrusted into me as slowly as he pulled back.

“Wrap your arms around me.” Jared whispered against my lips, so quietly I could barely hear his command.

Bringing my arms from above my head, my fingertips grazed up the back of his arms and around his broad shoulders. I traced invisible lines across his back feeling his muscles flinch beneath his skin.

My emotions, my desire, my love for this man gripped my heart as he made love to me. Feeling my neck as it lay cradled in his hand; I felt so cherished. This is where I belonged. My thoughts were becoming words and I felt the need to speak.

“Jared..” I whispered.

Meeting his eyes again, all thoughts fled me as I began to feel that familiar tingling deep within my center. Everything coming together was too much for me to bare. Tightening his arms around me, Jared quickened his pace, our bodies totally in sync.

“Come with me, baby girl.”

Kissing, touching, holding, breathing into each other all became more aggressive as we fell into ecstasy together.

I moaned into his open mouth as my orgasm took me, my legs tightened around him like a vice. The first pulse sending him down with me, I could feel his nails digging into the skin at my knee. Undoubtedly, I’ll have marks on my neck from his grip, reminders of this moment I would cherish each time I saw them.

As our bodies slowly settled, I savored the feeling of Jared’s weight on top of me and his hardness deep within me making us one. Letting his body rest on mine, I took a deep breath, filling my lungs with his scent. Cocooning me between his body and the mattress, he brought his lips to mine.

“Baby girl…”

Softly kissing, our hands roamed across each other’s skin enjoying the last few moments of tangled limbs and gentle touches.

I was so happy, so content I had no desire to move. I knew the moment was fast approaching though. We couldn’t stay this way forever. Feeling Jared pull just slightly back, his lips barely touching mine.

As our eyes met, it was like time stood still. The walls protecting his very heart and soul had fallen away and what lay behind them was an openness I had never seen before.

With a tremble in his voice he whispered, “I’m in love with you.”

He blindfolded you as he guided you down a rocky pathway, you made numerous jokes about being led to your death which he would chuckle at. Once he told you to open your eyes, you eagerly tore the blindfold off your face and stared in shock at the view in front of you.

He drove you to a beach, somewhere you’ve been begging to go for so long. The moon was shining above you, with the stars swallowing it up as you caught a flicker of lights surrounding a blanket. You gazed up at Theo who nodded with an adoring smile on his face, you skipped along the rest of the pathway where you kicked off your shoes and let your toes finally melt into the sand. “Theo, this is…” You spun around in a circle, “Amazing.”

First ‘I Love You’

Scott and I have been dating for about a year now and it has probably been the best year of my life. Although there have been some up and downs especially when you are dating a werewolf and there is always some supernatural creature trying to kill you. Luckily, now that the Ghost Riders were gone Scott and I could relax before we were both heading to college. I was dreading that day. Where Scott and I will go our separate ways and probably have to break up. He was my first real relationship and the first boy I’ve ever loved he doesn’t know that but he is.  I just wished I had enough courage to tell him but every time I think I am going to tell him I chicken out or someone or something prevents me too. Right now, we were in our last period of school as it was finally the last day of school. I have been nervous all day since tonight Scott and I were going to have a final movie night before he left for Berkley and I was finally going to tell him how I truly felt for him.  I was holding Scott hand as the last five minutes of school was coming. “Are you okay?” Scott whispers in my ear. I turn to look into his chocolate brown eyes and I smile,” Yeah I’m fine.” When really, I felt like I was going to pass out from how nervous I felt.

I changed into my pajamas and started to make popcorn as Scott was in his living room setting up the movie. I started to take deep breaths as I tried to tell myself that I could do this and to just tell him before it’s too late. “(Y/N) are you okay? You know I can heartbeat, right?’ Scott says walking into the room with popcorn in his hand. I laugh,” I’m fine Scott. I just need to talk to you about something.” Scott sits next to me placing the popcorn on the coffee table. “What’s wrong babe? You’re scaring me.” Scott states putting his arm on the back of the couch behind me. I sigh and grab his hand that was on his lap as I look into eyes. I take a heavy sigh and decided to just say it,” I love you, Scott.”

Silence. That what spread through the room as I said those four words. I felt tears coming into my eyes as I let go of Scott’s hand. I knew it was a bad idea to tell him. He doesn’t feel the same way about me that I feel for him. “I should’ve never said anything,” I say in a rush as I run into the bathroom to hide from the embarrassment for now. Tears start to cascade down my face as I slide down to the floor of the bathroom. I was a fool to think Scott would feel the same way about me as he did with Allison and Kira. A sob rocks through my body as a gentle knock comes from the door. “(Y/N) can you please open the door? Please?” I think of the options I have that I can either open the door to hear him say he doesn’t love me or I could stay in here till it’s late enough and leaves. Option two it is. I hear Scott sigh as he realizes that I am not going to open the door. “Just so you know I love you too baby, So much I have waited so long to tell but I was scared. Scared that you didn’t love me. Scared that you would leave me. I should’ve of told you but I let get in the way. I’m sorry for that. I know we are heading to college soon but we will make it work and I am going to make sure it does. Cause you mean the world to me and I am not letting you go.” I unlock the door and open the door slowly to see Scott with tears on his cheeks as he stares at me. He grabs my waist and pulls me against him. “I love you,” Scott whispers as he presses his lips against mine. “I love you too,” I whisper against his lips. Sometimes it is worth the wait for that special moment with someone close to you. This was my special moment with Scott and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Summary: Jensen thinks about his time with the Reader, wondering if he made a mistake in letting her go.

Word Count: 2K-ish

Warnings: Angst. Nothing but good ol’ Angst. (At least I hope it is lmao)

Author’s Note: Heyy guys! This is my entry for my boo Kari’s challenge aka @thing-you-do-with-that-thing‘s “SPN Anti Valentine’s Challenge”. I got the song “She’s Out Of My Life” by Michael Jackson. I hope you guys like it. This is one of my favorite songs from the King of Pop. Aaannnnd feedback is always welcomed!!!

I was an idiot. If there was an award for being the biggest idiot in the entire planet, I’d definitely win it without question.

I screwed up. There was no other way to put it. I fucked up the best thing that could have probably ever happened to me, and it was all because I was too much of a fucking coward to voice my feelings.

How was I to go back to before? How could I possibly make this up to her? She was my friend, for Christ’s sake. My best friend. And I messed it all up.

I guess I kinda deserved it and I shouldn’t be feeling like this because I had it coming. I definitely brought this upon myself.

Warnings – None

Word Count – 1,215

Notes – It feels so good to be writing again!  This is such a fun fic to write, lots of angst and drama.  I don’t know about you, but Bucky at this point in his timeline makes me a bit nervous. We know what he’s like at the beginning of CA:CW, but right now he’s still raw from the memory wipe and the fight with Steve.  As they said in CA:TWS, he’s “erratic and unstable.”  Who knows what he’s capable of, or what he’s going to do next!  I hope you’re enjoying this one and as always, I appreciate all of your feedback and questions!!!

When he’d finished, his hand went back to your bicep to lead you out of the room, but now that feeling had returned to your arms, the bruised flesh under his fingers was tender to the touch. You drew in a sharp breath as his eyebrows crinkled in confusion.  His left hand pulled your sleeve up as he stared at the bruises on your arm.  His right hand circled your arm again, this time just under the bruises as he brushed his thumb over the marks he’d left on your skin.

The tenderness of the gesture had your eyes darting to his.  He was still studying the marks that he’d left on your skin, but when he felt your gaze on him, he lifted his eyes to meet yours.  “I’m sorry.  I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

He didn’t mean to hurt you? Those few words had hope billowing up inside of you.  If he didn’t want to hurt you, maybe you might just make it out of this ordeal alive.

He unlocked the door and instead of grabbing your arm, he placed a hand at the small of your back to lead you from the room.  The gesture was oddly intimate and had an uneasy feeling settling in your stomach. You couldn’t quite describe what you were feeling, but you knew it wasn’t fear.  After the way he’d cleaned and bandaged the cuts on your wrists, you were starting to think that maybe he wasn’t as dangerous as he’d appeared to be last night.

Fast Cars and Freedom

Word Count: 3351

Warnings: Language, nudity, minor character death(s)

Pairing: Dean Winchester x Reader (Y/N Singer)

Italics indicate flashback

A/N: Inspired by the song Rascal Flatts Fast Cars and Freedom (watch here). I have been listening to some older, better country lately and this has been nagging at me for awhile now. I have plans to turn this into a series if y’all are interested. Thank you so much to @death2thevirgin who was my amazing beta for this!

The party had been a success and we were both tired. I had just brushed my teeth, getting ready for bed when I walked back into our bedroom and my heart stopped at the sight before me; sitting at her small vanity table, removing her makeup, not like she needs it. Twenty years later, she still takes my breath away.  I leaned up against the door jamb, just watching her, enamored by the vision of her. Memories flooded my mind, like a dam breaking.

I was fifteen years old when Dad dropped us off with Bobby for a few days. Sammy was only eleven and didn’t understand why Dad was gone so much. I did my best to explain it to him, but he was just a kid and didn’t get it. He just knew he missed Dad.

Our Dad was a mechanic for a trucking company in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A few times a year he would have to travel to pick up a big rig that broke down. He didn’t like leaving us ever since Mom died, but he didn’t have much choice. The job paid well and we had Bobby to keep watch over us while Dad was gone.

We went about our daily routine, breakfast, school, homework, chores. Bobby owned a garage and salvage yard, on a large plot of land with a few animals and there was no shortage of work to be done.

Y/N was Bobby’s daughter. She was less than a year younger than me and more often than not, she and I were left in charge of Sam when Bobby was working out in the shop. We got along well since the first day, discovering we had a lot in common and she adored Sammy. That was enough in my book.

The phone rang just as we were finishing up supper. As a general rule, Bobby didn’t allow phone calls during meals, but while Dad was gone, he made an exception so we could talk to him. Once Bobby gave his nod of nearly imperceptible nod of approval, I jumped out of my chair so fast it almost tipped over and ran to the phone.

“Dad!” I exclaimed as I answered the phone. Only the voice on the other end wasn’t Dad.

Black and Gold - Part Four

- Part One - Part Two - Part Three -

Warnings - swearing, fluff, angst, mentions of depression and violence.

Here we go..

It was hard for everyone to come to terms with the revelation that not only did Bucky and I know one another, but that we also worked together too, and as the Soldier put it, I was the only reason he survived HYDRA, he survived so that he could keep me safe. When Bucky saw me that day on the battlefield, his heart broke in his chest once he realised I couldn’t remember him, the last time he had seen me was on December 16th 1991, but no one but us would know that.

“How didn’t you remember him?” Steve asked, he sat beside Sam on one of the sofas littered around the Avengers lounge, Tony stood with his arms folded by the window, Wanda and Natasha sat either side of me whilst Bucky stood behind the sofa, then Vision, Bruce and Peter shared another sofa and Clint was in the kitchen but listening carefully to the conversation. One big happy, dysfunctional family.

Bucky squeezed my shoulder softly, telling me it was okay to talk, how I wouldn’t be judged, “HYDRA weren’t able to control me like Bucky, but they were able to pick apart my brain and make me forget certain things, select which memories to keep and which ones to kill. They always made me forget Bucky, whenever we were on a mission together I would always find a way to unlock his mind, but each time they found out and it would end with a wiping and a trip to the torture chamber for me,” I winced at the fresh memories that flooded my mind and took a shaky breath, “I was the only person able to undo their mind control, and that made me a liability, they were going to kill me but they knew I was the only person they had that could do the impossible, they also knew that Bucky would kill them all if they did,” Bucky smiled softly and looked to Steve who leaned forward, “They wiped him yes, but despite that he was always strangely protective over me,” I looked to him and smirked before turning back to face their questioning.

Steve nodded in understanding, and I knew he felt comfort in knowing Bucky wasn’t alone with HYDRA, he had me even though half the time he couldn’t remember, “Were you there? In 1991, were you there?” Tony asked, he turned around, his face resting in his hand as he looked down on me from the window, I nodded softly and shifted in my seat, “Why weren’t you on the tape?”

“I met your father, Howard, long before that night,” I reminisced with soft eyes, “I was an adored national treasure, and when your father came to London during the war, I couldn’t help myself,” Tony huffed in amusement and took a step forward, “We were friends, when he went back to the states we would write, on the day I was supposed to return I was actually returning from visiting your father-”

“Yeah, he mentioned you a few times,” he told me, “Said you were really kind, then your plane crashed and you died along with it.”

“That’s what they said?” I wondered aloud, “Makes sense, I suppose,” Natasha smiled and nodded, “I wasn’t on the tapes because I was always kept behind the scenes, I had an incredible affinity with technology, so that’s where HYDRA put me, they didn’t want me to do the killing because they knew I couldn’t do it, I was too compassionate you see,” I trailed off and fiddled with my fingers.

Bruce looked perplexed and in thought, like nothing I was saying was actually convincing, “Am I the only person who sees a problem with this?” He motioned to me, his glasses on the bridge of his nose, Wanda frowned and leaned forward, “If HYDRA made her forget certain parts of her life whilst she was with them, then how do we know that they didn’t make her forget trigger words, how do we know that what she is saying right now wasn’t planted there by HYDRA?” Tony opened his mouth to defend me but I stopped him.

“No, he’s right,” I stated, “I was Hydra’s most feared weapon, they kept me locked up in the cyro because they were afraid of what I could do,” I told the room as I stood up, “I could kill you all within seconds, I could kill anyone. You’re right, everything I’m saying could be lies, just another thing they toyed with,” Bucky and I shared a look, “If Bucky has trigger words then it’s very possible that I have them as well, only, I have no idea if that’s true or not,” I sat back down on the sofa, Wanda entwined her fingers with my own and squeezed my hand gently as Bucky, Tony and Steve bickered with Bruce and his theory.

Tony scoffed, “Come on, we found a was for Bucky, we can find a way from Evelyn too, okay? It’s possible, it’s been done before,” Tony gestured over to me, he had fixed Bucky, he was no longer effected by his own trigger words, perhaps he could fix me too, if they even existed.

Without another word I stood up from my seat, Wanda’s hand sliding from my own, “I’m going to work out, I’d appreciate it if I wasn’t disturbed,” Bucky reached out for me but I pushed his hand away as I left the room, the arguing continued.

Safe Place - Luke Hemmings/(Y/N) series - Part Five

Part One // Part Two // Part Three // Part Four

I wake up and feel something warm beside me. I immediately panic and jump out of bed as quick as I can which results in me falling flat on my back on the floor.

“Huh? What?” Luke asks, sitting up in a daze after my graceful fall. He looks over at me and his eyes open slightly wider. “What happened? Are you okay?”

“Yeah,” I say, a slight smile spreading across my lips.

I feel the cut on my bottom lip spread and begin to sting. My hand instinctively flies up to stop the blood from flowing out.

The memories of yesterday come flooding into my mind and I start to feel suffocated. I walk quickly to the bathroom and shut the door before grabbing a cloth from the counter and sitting down on the cold, tile floor. I try to steady my breathing as I press the cloth to my lip.

A few minutes later, there’s a soft knock at the door and Luke’s voice floats through. “You okay?”

I swear if he asks me that question one more time…

“I’m fine,” I answer instinctively. “My lip just started bleeding again.”

“Can I come in?” He asks.

I reach up and turn the knob in response to his question. I pull the door open just a crack and he walks through. His hair his messy and his clothes that he’s still wearing from yesterday are wrinkled. I notice the bags under his eyes and he looks like he got even less sleep than me. I suddenly feel very guilty. He kneels down beside me and replaces my hand that’s holding the cloth with his own.

His eyes narrow a bit as he examines my lip again. “Your jaw is starting to bruise,” he says, a frown forming on his face. “How does your head feel? Are you still dizzy?”

“No,” I answer. “I think that was just a mixture of my over-tiredness and being in shock.”

He nods. “Are you ready to tell me what happened?”

My eyes dart away from his. I know that I told him something last night when he woke me up from my nightmare, but I can’t remember exactly what.

“I’ll take that as a no,” he murmurs, his fingers gently pushing my chin up so that he can look at it from different angles.

I sigh. “I’m sorry, Luke,” I say. “I really am. I just don’t want to bring you into this. It’s not a good situation.”

I try to remain as vague as I can. I just want to keep him safe. I’ve seen how intense Jonah can get, and I don’t want Luke to get caught in his crossfire. Plus, Jonah doesn’t mean to hurt me. Sometimes I just make really stupid mistakes and he gets angry. He always apologizes afterward because deep down he really does love me.

“I can’t watch you get hurt again,” he says, looking down at my hands that are folded in my lap.

My eyes start to fill with tears, but I quickly brush them away. I know that Luke cares about me, and I care about him too, but this is not his problem. Jonah is my boyfriend, and I can handle him just fine.

“I’m fine, Luke,” I say softly. “I promise you it was just an accident.”

His loud sigh lets me know that he doesn’t believe me, but I know that he won’t push the issue any more right now. I stand up off the floor and walk back into my bedroom to grab my phone. I see that I have a missed call from Jonah, so I immediately call him back. I don’t like to make him wait on me.

“Finally, I thought you’d never call,” Jonah says after only one ring.

His voice is light and playful this morning, quite the opposite of how it was last night.

I let out a small, nervous laugh. “Sorry, I guess I overslept this morning.”

“I can see that. It’s almost noon. I was going to see if you wanted to go get breakfast, but now I guess that’s turned into lunch. So how about it? I’m buying,” he says.

I consider the offer for a moment. Luke knows something’s up and there’s a decent chance that he’ll try to stop me from going. But I’m an adult, damn it, and I can make my own choices.

“That sounds great,” I answer. “Where should I meet you?”

Jonah tells me to meet him at one of our favorite spots not too far from the apartment. As soon as he hangs up, I start rummaging through my closet in an attempt to find something to wear. I need to make it up to him for forgetting dinner last night, so I decide to wear his favorite outfit. I pull my hair up into a neat ponytail and apply some light makeup to cover the bruise on my jaw before heading out into the living room. I see Luke looking through the cabinets in the kitchen, probably trying to find something to eat.

“You might want to just order something,” I say as I slip on my shoes by the front door. “I haven’t had a chance to go grocery shopping lately.”

Luke turns his attention to me and he freezes for a second. He raises an eyebrow and starts walking toward me.

“Going somewhere?” He asks, his arms crossed over his chest like a protective dad.

I nod, my eyes darting away from his. “Yeah, Jonah called and asked me out to lunch.”

“Oh did he now,” Luke says, his voice almost a growl. “Is he trying to make up for what he did last night?”

I roll my eyes. “Luke, I told you. It was an accident. Just drop it.”

He holds up his hands in surrender and starts walking back toward his bedroom. I know he’s upset with me, but I’m not his child. He can’t control my life.

I take a deep breath and walk out the door. I decide to walk to the small cafe instead of catch a taxi because I could use the fresh air. I arrive a few minutes before the time that Jonah and I had agreed to meet at, so I stand outside and wait for him to arrive.

“(Y/N)?” I hear my someone call my name.

I turn toward the voice and see Ashton, one of Luke’s bandmates, walking toward me. I smile and jog over to give him a hug. He holds me against him for a few seconds before stepping back and raking his eyes over me.

“You look great,” he says as he flashes his million dollar smile.

I giggle and do a little curtsy in response. I ask him how he’s been and how the press tour was. He launches into some of the same stories that Luke told me yesterday, but I pretend I haven’t heard them yet. Ashton is so energetic and lovely that I can’t help but smile in his presence.

“(Y/N),” Jonah’s voice says from behind me a few minutes later.

I turn around and see that he’s standing a few feet away with that familiar jealousy in his eyes. I hope he’s not angry with me. He should know that Ashton is just a friend.

“Jonah, this is Luke’s bandmate, Ashton. Ashton, this is my boyfriend, Jonah,” I say, introducing the two in the hopes that it’ll make Jonah feel more comfortable.

Ashton sticks his hand out to shake Jonah’s, but Jonah doesn’t return the favor. After a few seconds, Ashton seems to notice the tension and he quickly offers me a quick hug goodbye and leaves.

“What the hell are you doing?” Jonah asks as soon as we’re alone. “Were you trying to make me jealous or something?”

I shake my head. “No, of course not. Ashton just saw me waiting and he stopped to say hello. He’s a friend, and that’s all.”

“That hug looked like more than friendly to me,” he says, his voice low and full of rage.

I groan. “Why are you always so jealous? Am I not allowed to hang out with any other guys but you?”

He seems taken aback by my curt response, and it only adds fuel to the anger burning in his eyes. I immediately bite my tongue. That was not the right thing to say in this situation.

“I’m sorry, baby, I-,”

“Save it,” he spits. “You’re such a bitch sometimes.”

I cast my eyes to the ground as I try to hold back tears. He’s right. I shouldn’t have said what I said, it was way out of line.

“Come on,” he says as he grabs my arm and guides me toward his car. “We’ll have lunch at my place. At least there we can’t run into any more of your fuck buddies.”

Japanese Horror: Sleep Paralysis

Submitted and translated from Japanese by: Shishou (

Length: Short

The following story is based on my personal experience during my high-school days.

As far as I can remember, it was a hot and humid day. My summer holidays had just started so I didn’t have anything to do. I was lying on my bed, taking a good nap.

When I woke up, I realized that I was still half-asleep, but then something erratic happened. I came to realize that I was not able to move my body! I’ve never had any paranormal experiences before. But during those days I did experience sleep-paralysis frequently, so I had gotten used to them.

This time, it happened during broad daylight, so there was no chance I was getting scared.

However, this sleep-paralysis didn’t look like going away. I sensed that something was amiss.

The futon, which was covering me, started slithering down my bed.

“What the hell is happening here? Why is it moving down slowly? If it were moving because of gravity, shouldn’t it fall down quickly?” I thought to myself.

It was falling down in such a way as if someone was pulling it towards them slowly.

“Someone is definitely here. I’m screwed!” I could think of nothing but that.

I shut my eyes close in fear.

I heard a thud sound as the futon collided with the floor.

Then, I sensed a presence near my bed. Even with my eyes closed, I could sense something near me.

Immediately after that I felt someone’s heavy breathing near my ears.

I told myself to not open my eyes in any case.

God knows how much time had passed when my sleep-paralysis went away. I was just relieved that I saw no signs of anybody in the room when I opened my eyes.

The futon was lying on the floor. I was soaked with sweat even with the air-con on.

I decided to quickly get out of the room. I was feeling hungry and also wanted some company, so I headed straight to my parents, who lived on the ground floor.

I wanted to talk about the creepy incident with my parents but decided not to as it sounded quite absurd; therefore, I left the house after having food.

After that, I decided to pay a visit to my friend who lived nearby. I told him everything about my creepy experience; he didn’t believe it of course, but still he decided to listen to it carefully to make me happy. He took me to karaoke and bowling to get my mind off the incident.

At around 12 in the night, we decided to call it a day and headed to our homes. By that time, I had completely forgotten about the creepy incident that happened in the afternoon.

I went to my house, had a bath, and headed straight to my room. When I entered that room, the memories of this afternoon came flooding back into my mind, but I reassured myself and dropped myself on the bed.

However, I couldn’t sleep. I rolled from one side of the bed to other, trying to fall asleep. Somehow or the other I did fall asleep. But when I thought I did, I was awoken by the same feeling - the feeling of sleep paralysis.

The whole room echoed with the thuds that repeated in succession.

The only thing I could figure out was that the sounds were coming from beyond the wall of my room.

It sounded as if somebody was banging on my wall really hard.

I wanted to call my parents for help, but of course, my voice didn’t come out.

When I came to my senses, it was already morning. It looked like I had fainted at some point during the whole ordeal.

I descended the stairs and headed towards my parents.

“Did you bang on my wall yesterday night?”

“No, why would we do that? More importantly, the old grandpa who lived in the neighboring house has passed away. Get ready as we have to go and pay him the respects.”

I was getting goosebumps at this point.

Recently, my friend had come to have dinner with us. During the dinner, the conversation somehow ended up being about my experience on that day. My mom then told us this:

“Before we moved in this house, there used to be a family of 4 who lived here. Among the members, there were the siblings who frequently went to the old grandpa’s house to play. The old grandpa didn’t have grandchildren of his own, so he considered those siblings just like his own grandchildren. But one day, the family had to move to some other house; and therefore, the siblings and old grandpa were heartbroken by that. After that, the house was empty for a whole year until we moved in. Don’t you think that the old grandpa had probably wanted to say his final goodbye to the siblings?” My mother mused.

I also think the same.

The fear that I had experienced that night is now subsiding, and I feel nothing but warmth inside my heart.

Warnings - angst, anxiety, loss, mixture of emotions with this one.

Thank you to everyone who had read this far!

Steve and Tony made it their mission to find out who I was, not just for piece of mind but so that I could be able to have some kind of identity. The Avengers didn’t regard me as a threat, they knew I was conscious and very much free from the talons of HYDRA, they knew I wouldn’t hurt them because of the guilt I felt for killing the people when I first obtained my powers. Natasha saw my compassion, how I was just a woman with troubles and things which haunted her, and Natasha could relate to that. Wanda was the first person to embrace me really, her powers and my own were very much alike which she liked that fact, she was also very impressed when I was able to stop her from hurting me. Tony was welcoming and refused to have me locked away in a cell, he showed me his suits and how they worked, and he even let me work on a new model he was designing, apparently I had a think for mechanics. Steve saw a lot of Bucky in me, the confusion in my eyes as they spoke about things I had no idea about screamed volumes to him as he felt the same confusion when he woke up from his frozen state. Then there was Bucky, probably the only person who really understood how I was feeling, he too had felt the guilt I felt, he had the nightmares and endured the countless hours of torture and mind wiping. Bucky knew what it was like to lose sense of who he was, to forget his name, and that’s why I clicked with him the most.

“-moiselle? Madamoiselle!”
The man’s voice called over and over again as he shook me awake. It was slightlt distorted, but it eventually came clear enough for me to realize it was a man’s. Not very young, although not ancient either. Slowly, I groaned into consciousness. How long was I out? Also… where was I? Where had I come from? Why was I on the ground?
Everything started to come back to me. Like water from a newly broken dam, my memories flooded into my mind in the form of a crashing wave.
My name is Scarlett Duerre Le Fey, a commoner from Paris. Both my parents died in the plague, and my grandfather raised me in Paris ever since. But now, my grandfather died in a sickbed and I had to move from Paris somewhere quieter. Although I didn’t have everything planned out just yet. I was riding into the countryside to find my new home until… until my horse tripped and I fell.
“Madamoiselle?” The same man said again “Are you alright?”
My vision cleared and I could see the man. He was elderly, with a kind face and graying hair. Behind him was his own white steed beside Arion, who looked fine, thankfully.
“I’m fine, monsieur.” I told him thankfully as I slowly stood up. My head ached but nothing else. “Thank you.”
“It was no bother, madame. If you don’t mind me asking, what happened?” The man asked curiously, frowning at me slightly
That… was an excellent question
“I’m traveling, you see, from Paris.” I said “My grandfather just passed and I was looking for a new home to call my own. A fresh start, you may say.”
Those words felt both true and unsure at the same time.
“That is understandable.” The man said
“Excuse me, but how long was I out?” I asked, straightening my skirt
“By the looks of it, all night.” He told me as he set up the reins of his horse “No offense.”
“None taken.” I assured him as I walked over to check on my own horse
“So where will you be headed now, madame?” He asked me
I shrugged with a sigh “To be honest, monsieur, I am not quite sure.”
“You’re a lost girl, aren’t you?” The man said with a smile
I laughed softly “I guess you can say that.”
“Well, there are no other cities here nearby.” The man said as he got up on his horse “Why not come back to my village? You can stay the night to rest, buy a few supplies. It isn’t much, but after Paris some new scenery may do you good, believe me.”
For some strange reason, I did. A quiet village sounded nice. I got up on Arion with ease, taking a hold of his reins once more.
“Lead the way then, monsieur.” I said
The man smiled “My name is Maurice.” He held out a hand and I shook it
“Scarlett.” I said “Scarlett Le Fey.”
“My town is just nearby.” He said as his horse started trotting down the dirt road
“What’s the name of your town?”
“Its Villianueve, madame.”
Moments later, I saw the town monsieur Maurice had so vividly described to me. It was nothing like Paris, but I guess thats the part about it that I liked the most. Smaller towns, lesser people, quieter life. We talked along the way. Maurice wasn’t just a merchant. He was an inventor. He told me how he moved from Paris to Villanueve after his wife died (although he didn’t go to many details about that). He told me of his daughter- Belle- who was “so ahead of our time” and absolutely loved to read books. My grandfather used to always bring me home books from his travels as a trader off seas. He was a respected man… or at least, I remember him to be.
We didn’t ride into the main entrance of the town. Instead, we rode into the back, which led exactly into the lawn of a small farm. As soon as Maurice and I got off our horses, a young girl burst through the doors of Maurice’s modest little farmhouse. My guess was it was Maurice’s daughter. She looked exactly how he had described her so vividly.
“Papa!” Belle called with a wide smile on her face, rushing down the steps to meet Maurice. Although she stopped a few steps away once she saw me. It gave me a sudden awkward feeling.
“Hello, Belle!” Maurice greeted his daughter with a matching smile
“Who’s this?” Belle asked, looking at me
“This is Ms. Le Fey. She’s a traveler from Paris. She, ah, got in an accident and fell of her horse. I brought her to Villianueve.” Maurice explained as he fixed up the reins on his horse Phillipe
“Bonjour. You must be Belle. Maurice talks very highly of you.” I said, greeting the girl with a smile
“He does, does he?” Belle said with a small smile “So, you’re from Paris? What would make you want to move from a place like that?”
“My… grandfather passed. Both my parents were killed in the plauge.” I explained, my smile fading. “I’m looking for a fresh start, you may say.”
“Oh. I’m sorry for your loss.” She said sincerely
“Don’t be. Not like its your fault, now, is it?” I said with a weak chuckle
“I… guess not.” She said
I sighed “Look, I’m sorry…” I spotted something in her hand “Macbeth? You read Shakespeare?”
Belle looked down at her book then back at me with a slightly shocked expression “You read?”
“Of course I do. Shakespeare is my absolute favorite!” I told her with a smile “Out, out, brief candle! Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more!”
Belle immediately smiled and recited “It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. That’s Macbeth!”
I chuckled with a smile “One of my favorites.”
Maurice chuckled, shaking his head with a smile “I can tell you two will be getting along just fine!” He started unloading his own luggages from Phillipe “Madamoiselle, you may stay in the spare room if you’d like.”
“Monsieur, I’m sure I could find someplace else to stay. I wouldn’t want to be a bother.” I said, suddenly feeling shy. He’s already done so much for me. If he hadn’t found me, I’m sure I would’ve been stranded in a ditch somewhere with no place to go. Even the littlest actions go a long way.
“Nonsense.” Maurice told me “You’re welcome to stay. Its a small town, madamoiselle. A new face may do us some good.”
“Little town, it’s a quiet village. Every day like the one before.” Belle spoke with a small snort alongside a roll of her eyes in a slightly sing-song voice
That made me smile. A new face and a change of scenery. These people knew nothing of me, or my reputation- that gave me a sense of comfort for some reason. A reason that I could not explain. A lot of people want a fresh start, and most don’t get what they ask for.
Maybe this was just the start of something more?

Where she went Masterlist

I awoke the next morning to an empty bed. I sighed as I sat up as the memories of what happened the night before began to flood into my mind. I smiled to myself as I got out of bed and headed for the showers.

As I finished up my shower, I got out and wrapped a towel around my waist as my phone began to ring. I picked it up to see it was a message from an unknown sender.

“You better watch your back little girl. You might have the outlaw on your side but I will still find a way back to you.”

I felt my heart stop as I looked at the message repeatedly. It can’t be him. It just can’t. I thought to myself as I threw my phone back onto my bed as I got dressed quickly. I picked my phone up again as I headed out of the dorm and down the hall to the bar.

“Hey Gem,” I began as she looked up at me with a smile.

“Hey baby, how you doin’?” Gemma questioned as I put on a fake smile as a reminder of what happened last night and the message I saw came into my thoughts.

“Uhh, I’m good, what about you?” I questioned as she gave me a curious look before replacing it with a smile.

“I’m good, I’m just waiting for the club to finish up in a church.” I nodded as the sound of the gavel being slammed down came through the room as the sound of chairs squeaking on the floor followed it. The church doors opened to reveal the clubs.

“Hey Gem, hey (Y/N),” Tig said as he was the first to exit. I smiled as I replied with a simple “Hey.” As I waited by the doors for Opie and Jax. I notice they were the last ones exiting as I stood in front of them.

“Hey (Y/N), what’s up?” Opie questioned as I looked between the boys.

“I need to talk to you guys. Can we do it here?” I questioned as I motioned towards the church. The boys nodded as they walked back into the club as I took Jax’s seat at the table as Opie took Tig’s and Jax took Clay’s.

“What’s up? What’s wrong?” Jax questioned as he laid his hand on mine as Opie looked curiously between us.

“Well, I got up this morning and took a shower and when I came out I saw that my phone was going off and when I went to answer it… Well…” I began as I hauled out my phone and hauled up the text. “This message was here,” I said as I laid the phone between the two men as they’re brows furrowed with confusion and anger.

“Do you know who sent it?” Opie questioned as I shook my head.

“No, but I think I know who did it.” As Jax and Opie looked at me with confused looks. “Liam,” I said as the boys looked at each other with angered looks.

“I’ll get Juice to try and trace the text to see if he knows who sent it. Don’t worry, we’ll find whoever sent it.” Jax said as he took my phone and slipped it in his cut.

“Okay. Thank you.” I said as we began to stand up. Opie pulled me into his arms.

“If it is Liam, we’ll kill him. I promise.” Opie said as I smiled into his embrace as we began to pull away. Opie nodded towards Jax as he headed out of the church closing the door behind him.

“So, how’d you sleep?” Jax questioned as I smiled.

“Good, except I woke up to an empty bed,” I said as Jax giggled.

“Yeah, sorry. Gem called me to tell me the kid is getting out of the toaster today.” I smiled wide as I began to speak.

“Oh my God! Congratulations!” I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

“Thank you, thank you,” Jax said as he pulled me into an embrace. I hugged him back as we stayed there for what felt like an eternity. Once we pulled away from our tight embrace I stayed in Jax’s arms as we looked into each other’s eyes. I smiled as we both began to lean in. Jax and I pressed our lips together as we moved the together. The kiss began to heat up as Jax’s hands slid from my waist to the back of my thighs as he squeezed a little making me jump. I jumped into Jax’s arms as I wrapped my legs around his waist as he walked us towards the table. I felt Jax gently bite down on my bottom lip as I moaned into the kiss; granting him access.

Jax and I continued to kiss as our tongues fought for dominance as a flashback of last night popped into my head. It was of Hale and how he walked in on me and Jax. My mind drifted to Tara, as much as I hated her I couldn’t continue to do this knowing she was depending on Jax to be faithful. I pushed at Jax’s chest as I moaned for him to stop.

“Jax… Stop…” Jax pulled away almost instantly as I sighed.

“What’s wrong? Did I do something?” Jax questioned as panic and confusion laced his tone.

“No, it’s not you…” I began as Jax looked at me confused.

“Then what is it?” Jax questioned as I sighed again.

“Jax, you’re still with Tara and last night I was still with Hale. I don’t want you to cheat on her the same way I cheated on Hale.” Jax sighed knowing I was right.

“Shit.” He said as he ran his fingers through his blonde locks.

“Hey, it’s okay,” I said as I slid off the table and laid my hand on his shoulders as he nodded.

“Yeah, I guess,” Jax said as he sounded annoyed.

“Yes, it is. Your kid is getting out of that awful toaster and I’m one hundred and ten percent sure Gemma will be throwing a welcome home party.” Jax chuckled as he threw his arm around my shoulders as we walked towards the doors and headed out of the church.

“Hey, Juice,” Jax said as he nodded for him to come over.

“Hey, what’s up?” Juice questioned as Jax hauled out my phone and explained what he wanted him to do. I walked over to the bar and took a seat.

“Hey baby, can I get your help getting everything ready for Abel’s coming home party?” Gemma questioned as I nodded my head with a smile.

“Of course, Gem,” I said as she smiled back as Jax walked behind me.

“Alright, I’m going to head over to St. Thomas and start signing some forms for Abel’s release.” I smiled as I turned on the stool to give Jax a hug.

“Good luck! Call me if you need anything.” I said as he smiled and nodded.

“I will.” And with that, he walked out of the club and was gone.

“Alright, let’s head to the store and then we’ll head over to Jax’s and get everything set up,” Gemma said as I slid off the stool and went to the dorm to grab my bag and my jacket. I walked back to the bar as Gemma leaned down and gave Clay a kiss as she grabbed her purse and we headed to her Cadillac XLR. We hoped in as we drove off down the road.

Time Skip:

We finished up at the store as we got all the decorations needed for the party.

“I’m going to drop you off at Jax’s and I’m going to head to the grocery store and pick up some food for tonight.” I smiled as I nodded my head as Gemma reached into her purse and handed me the key to Jax’s house.

Once we reached Jax’s house, I climbed out of Gemma’s car and took the decorations out as I walked up the pathway towards his front door. I unlocked the front door and pushed it open to reveal a nice clean home. I walked into the kitchen as I laid the bags of decorations and my purse on the table. I walked over to the windows as I began to open them and let fresh air in. I began to haul out the decorations and open them as I hauled out some balloons and began blowing them up.

After an hour or two, I had most of the house decorated for Abel’s party. I heard the front open and close as I began to hang the banner.

“Gem?” I questioned as I got no answer. “Jax?” I questioned again as I leaned towards my purse as I reached for my gun.

“Who are you?” I looked up to see a woman with dirty blonde hair and tan skin staring back at me.

“(Y/N), who are you?” I questioned simply as the woman took her purse off her shoulder.

“Wendy. Wait are you the famous (Y/N)?” I chuckled as I slid my gun back into my purse.

“It depends on what you mean by famous? Oh, while you’re here can you help me hang this banner?” I questioned as she nodded her head and hopped up onto the chair as she took a hold of the other side of the banner as she held it up as I threw the tape at her as she taped the banner to the wall.

“So, you must be the ex-wife Wendy?” I questioned as we both began to climb down off the couches.

“I am. I’m assuming you’ve heard horror stories about me.” She said as she looked down at the ground.

“No, actually I haven’t. I did actually hear what happened with Abel but other than that I haven’t heard anything.” I said as Wendy looked at me surprised.

“Wow, I figured Jax would have said a lot worse.” I chuckled as I spoke.

“Wendy, he doesn’t think you’re a bad person. Jax is a kind and caring person, not many people get to see him that way but he is just that. I know what you did was bad but he’s still here and he’s healthy again. That’s all that matters.” Wendy smiled at me as she spoke.

“You’re so much different from Gemma or even Tara.” I smiled at her.

“I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing,” I said as she chuckled.

“It’s good, trust me.” I nodded my head with a smile. “So, are you the famous (Y/N) I’ve heard so much about?” Wendy questioned as I smiled.

“In the flesh,” I said as she smiled.

“Jax hated himself for not running after you that night. You know, that, right?” She questioned as I sighed.

“Yeah… I wish he had of.” I said as I thought back to everything that has happened since the day I left till now. Wendy laid her hand on my knee with a smile as I broke away from my thoughts.

“Well, there’s not point in worrying about the past. We have a brand-new baby coming here today and we need to make this place shine.” I said as Wendy raised her eyebrow at me with a smile.

“We?” She questioned as I looked at her with a smile.

“That is if you’d like to stay and help out?” I questioned as she smiled.

“I’d love too but what about Gemma and Jax.” I smiled to myself as I spoke.

“Don’t worry, I know how to handle them,” I said as she chuckled and smiled. We both stood up as he turned to look at our banner.

I smiled to myself as I thought about the night of fun we were about to have.

Tom Wilson - Chapter Twelve

The next night, I found myself wandering through the Verizon Center looking for beer. Carly and Ava had sent me out for Bud Lights. This was the first time that both of them could join me for one of Tom’s games, and I was so excited to have them in the stands with me.

I heard the puck slapping from stick to stick as I stood patiently in line, and then the goal horn. I ran to the nearest section entrance to watch the instant replay. It was Tom, he had scored. And I missed it. I rolled my eyes and paid for the beers, basically throwing them at Carly and Ava as I got back to our seats.

“Next time, you guys are getting your own damn beer. I missed his goal! I’ve never seen him score in person before.” I whined as I plopped back down in my seat.

“Don’t worry about it. Tom is good. There will be others.” Ava assured me, patting my leg.

“Whatever.” I muttered, definitely more frustrated than I needed to be.

The game ended shortly after with the Caps ahead of the Rangers by 2. It was a good game, despite the Verizon Center being filled with blue dressed and loud New Yorkers. I guess that’s always how those games went, though.

Despite the guilt I felt for missing his goal, my sprits were high as I said my goodbyes to Carly and Ava. They were going out with some of their nursing friends, and I was going to be spending the night with Tom. Or, so I thought.

I wandered my way through the maze that is the tunnels of the Verizon Center until I reached the hallway that the locker room is in. Exchanging “That was a good game” comments with the other girlfriends, I turned the corner to find Tom. With Anna. She was all over him, kissing him gently as she shoved him into the wall. His hands were at his sides and his head fought her touch, but her lips kept up with his movements.

“Really, Tom?” I asked quietly as my heart dropped and I began to shake.

Anna took a few steps back and Tom started to walk towards me.

“Stop.” I said, noticing his forward movements. Tears filled in my eyes as I stared him down.

“Baby, that is not what it looked like. She just came out here like thirty seconds ago and threw me up against the wall. She wanted this to happen.” He eagerly explained.

I looked at Anna who was standing behind Tom, reapplying lip gloss while pursing her lips in her compact mirror.

“You have to believe me.” He continued as he reached out for me.

I stepped back. “I thought you loved me, Tom. I really really did. Too good to be true.” With that, I turned and ran, running down long and random hallways to hopefully lose Tom, who was running after me. I lost him and called an Uber, crying all the way home. I could feel my heart break in my chest as we passed Georgetown Cupcakes, my mind flooded with memories of the loving moments I shared with the one guy I thought truly loved me.

Keeping all of the lights off, I stumbled through the house and ran upstairs, jumping in my bed. A few episodes ofFriends was able to take my mind off of things for a little. I had ignored the three call attempts that tom made… unsure of what to say or how to handle it.

I closed my laptop and set it beside my bed, hoping to get some sleep. As I did that, I heard a large bang from downstairs. The bang was followed by loud whispering and shuffling around. Was it the girls? I thought to myself.

Where are you?

I texted to Carly.

Holding Ava’s hair while she throws up Vodka Tonics.

She answered immediately. Someone was here. Someone who wasn’t supposed to be. I had no one else to call. I didn’t want to talk to Tom, but I needed him.

Tom’s POV:

After losing Y/N in the tunnels and a huge screaming match with Anna, Andre had convinced me to go out. I wasn’t big on going out and drinking these days. I spent most of my nights with Y/N and I loved that more than anything. Even though I had fucked that up worse than I ever could’ve imagine. Who even let Anna down there? I didn’t know. But I didn’t want to think about it either. I wanted a bunch of beer to wash out the events of the last few hours.

“Did she answer any of your calls?” Andre asked as we sat at the bar.

“Not one.” I sighed, sipping from my beer. “I really hurt her.”

Andre sighed. “It was really your fault though. Anna bombarded you and kissed you. The timing was terrible. And we need to tell security she’s off the girlfriend list. I don’t even know how she could have access down there anymore.”

“Yeah I’ll have to talk to them tomorrow.” I responded quietly.

I listened to Andre carry on about the girls he was hooking up with, the models he was talking to on Instagram, and all the other immature stories he had to share with me. Not one ounce of me felt jealous of the lifestyle he was explaining… a lifestyle that I once lived. I just wanted Y/N. No amount of alcohol could erase the feelings I had for her, or the sadness that consumed me knowing that I hurt her.

“You gonna get that?” Andre said, scooting my phone towards me. I hadn’t even noticed it ringing. It was Y/N. I reached for the phone immediately, getting up and heading for the nearest balcony.

“Baby, I’m so sorry. Please just hear me out.” I begged without even saying hello.

“Baby I need you.” I heard her say over the phone.

“I need you too, babe. Wait, are you crying?” I asked, hearing sobs on the other end.

“Tom, someone is in my house. It’s not either of the girls. I think I might’ve forgotten to lock the door when I came in. I’m scared.”

“Babe I’m on my way right now. Where are you?” I asked as I pushed my way back to the bar.

“My room. Please hurry.” She sobbed. Thank God Andre and I had decided on a Georgetown bar tonight. We were just down the street.

“Stay on the phone with me, baby. I’m coming.” I told her.

“Andre. We’re leaving. Now.” I said as I dragged him away from the bar. I slapped a $50 bill down on the counter and lead him out onto the street.

“Stay with me, baby.” I said as we got outside and I started to run.

“What’s going on?” Andre asked as he ran after me.

“Someone broke into Y/N’s house. They are in there and she’s there by herself.” I explained as I ran up the hill to her townhouse. He didn’t respond, just ran faster to get to her. I pulled my phone away from my ear to see if she was still with me, and she wasn’t. She must have hung up. My heart dropped as a million possibilities rushed through my head.

We approached her house as the police were walking inside.

“Sir, this is an active crime scene, please wait across the street.” One officer called to me.

“No.” I said firmly as I continued walking towards the front door, which was open. “My girl’s in there. I’m going in.”

“Sir, please.” Another officer called as he followed me into the house. But I didn’t listen.

“Baby? Baby where are you?” I called as I pushed my way passed broken glass and furniture that had been destroyed.

“Tom!” I heard her yell from upstairs.

“Sir, you need to stand down or we’ll have to cuff you and keep you outside. For your own safety.” The officer told me firmly.

“Baby, they are coming up there to get you.” I called up to her. “Go.” I said firmly to the cop. Drawing his weapon, he carefully walked up the stairs and into her room.

“Put your hands above your head.” I heard the officer yell.

“Hands? There’s two of them? Who the fuck are they?” I yelled to Andre who was standing in the doorway, panting from the run up here.

Two more officers rushed inside to help the one upstairs get the suspects out of the house.

“Tom!” I heard Y/n cry again.

“Get your girl.” One of the younger officers said to me. I looked closely at the guys being lead down the stairs. I couldn’t recognize them, but they didn’t look scary. Typically preppy Georgetown kids, I thought to myself. After threatening both of them with my eyes and hearing Andre chirp them, I ran to the top of the stairs.

“Baby I’m so freaked out.” Y/N said as she jumped into my arms.

“Who were they?” I questioned.

“I don’t know. I think they knew Carly. Friends with her ex boyfriend, I think.” She explained as she sobbed into my shoulder. “I’m so scared.”

“I got you, baby. Nothing is going to happen to you.” I assured her as I held her tightly.

“I don’t want to live here anymore.” She cried as her arms tightened around my neck.

“You’re coming to live with me.”
