Hawaii Five-0 Future/Relationships

Rumour has it that Rachel is going to be back with major news; she’s divorcing Stan. And they ask team Rachel or team Melissa. How about neither? And also, Catherine will be back at some point as well.

Rachel: she divorced him because she couldn’t handle being a cop’s wife, she then took his daughter 3000mi away and tried her best to keep them apart. She cheated on her husband with him, then lied and manipulated him about her pregnancy and when it didn’t work out, she dropped him and went back to Stan; then it turns out that her baby really was Danny’s which meant that Rachel kept Danny from his son for three years and the *only* reason he found out was because Charlie was sick and needed help (guarantee if that wasn’t the case, then that would’ve remained a secret). Rachel and Danny are done with and over; let it stay that way, otherwise Danny just looks like a stupid fool for going back to her.

Melissa: sorry she was in an abusive relationship, but she put Danny’s life, and also Grace’s, at risk when she didn’t reveal that her ex might be after her. Imagine what would’ve happened if he had shown up when Grace was with them. Also, in the supposed three years they’ve been together, we’ve only see her like once (a few times really tbh but probably less than five) but that could be forgiven considering we don’t see the other SOs that often either. However, Danny doesn’t take her to any important functions (Kono’s wedding comes to mind) and after two years he couldn’t tell her he loved her and I doubt that other than Grace and Eric, Melissa has met the other members of the Williams family (but Steve has, as well as the team). Honestly? I may not like her, but Melissa deserves better.

Catherine: her relationship with Steve was nothing more than a trading of sexual favours that they tried to make into more but didn’t work out. Catherine lied to him, more than once, and placed him in danger and left him there where at one point Steve came very close to losing his head, literally. I’m paraphrasing here but in one second she tells him that doing what she’s doing is what she’s wanted and that she’s happy and fulfilled, but then just a sentence or two later, she says she would’ve said yes to his proposal? That’s a contradiction right there, which made me believe she only told him she would’ve said yes because she knew it was what he wanted to hear. Catherine is and always will be an operative. She is basically Doris and that means that if she had stayed and accepted Steve’s proposal, then not only would’ve she have come to resented it and him but years down the line, she would’ve pulled a Doris (faking her death and leaving her family to deal with it). Like Danny and Rachel, Steve would be a stupid fool to take Catherine back.

Lynn: I don’t hate or like her because we barely have any interaction with the character but based on that, she deserves better than to be an afterthought and honestly, she and Steve don’t mesh well

And honestly, what sort of messages are these relationships sending? Some might say that relationships take time and work and are about compromise (which is true) but in the above cases, it’s like the message is a person can treat you like crap/continuously lie but it’s ok to either stay with them or constantly take them back because love. What do you guys think?

Feminism: Not a Four Letter Word

My lady-problems with last night in little bullets. None of my problems are with these characters. I may not love Amber or Catherine to the moon, but I wanted so much better than the below for all of these characters. What the show does/did to them is just…..wrong. Painfully.

Amber/Melissa

  1. Adorable beginning in bed, like tootsweet.
  2. Given knowing what his job is, and how important and insane it can at a moment’s noticed, if his phone was blowing up, had every reasons to pick it up.
  3. She gets justifiedly unhappy about Danny lying to her about Rachel, which never gets cleared up with her. Only Danny and Steve talk about it.
  4. In the finale episode, we further find out Danny hasn’t cleared the above matter up or said why/what happened to her three days later. While Amber is utterly missing from the wedding scene, too, and not Danny’s Plus 1.
  5. Poof girlfriend does not appear when it’s not about her being a) affectionate in bed or b) being some combination of confused-angry-jealous

Rachel Edwards

  1. I have missed you so much Rachel.
  2. I love that we have her still in Hawaii. Because the thing I get most tired of in fandom is people’s constant assumption she moved to Vegas somehow still. When we’ve never seen or heard that.
  3. I knew about this spoiler two months ago, but even so –
  4. I have so many problems with insta-sick child.
  5. I have so many problems with Rachel lying to Danny about this for three years straight.
  6. I have, also, before we dive into it problems, and deep anger/sympathies, for Stan who just realized HIS ONLY BORN CHILD is not his because she has lied to him for three years, too.
  7. I have problems with Rachel deciding three years ago that Danny’s job made him unsuitable to be a parent for his to-be-born song.
  8. I have even bigger problems with the fact somehow the show wants me to believe Rachel was a) ready to move with Danny & Grace to New Jersey, was even in the airport to do this thing, but then b) decided to leave Danny and return to Stan because she was pregnant with Danny’s son. #NonLogicHello
  9. Once again. Sorry, Stan. Guess you weren’t any part of that either. You weren’t a dad. You weren’t the person she wanted. You were just a safe, lucrative place to raise a child not near a dangerous job. You were just needed incase Grace lost her dad, so both of her kid’s wouldn’t have.
  10. Oh. Wait.
  11. I, also, hate that the show now wants me to believe that any part of Rachel’s gratitude for Danny being there to help her through her child birth episode as a friend is now COVERED IN DUPLICITOUS LYING AND PLAY ACTING to the father of the child being born. I had loved that episode showing a growth toward them being able to still be there for each other, putting aside the pain and vitriole, in moments it mattered.
  12. But. Oh. Sorry. So she was lying to Danny all through that, too?
  13. So. Welcome, to the perfect character assignation of Rachel Edwards.
  14. Lenkov could have fridged her and it would have been kinder than this.
  15. Danny should be pissed to all hell, and he should take her to court for all of it. Because he’d win no questions asked with the mother doing this to him.

Kono Kalakaua

  • Chin Ho Kelly, I love you with the fire of a million suns, but there is no “letting” Kono do anything where it comes to being married. She’s a big girl.
  • WHY IS IT THAT EVERYONE ON THE TEAM KNOWS ABOUT THESE PICTURES AND ADAM’S POSSIBLE DUPLICITY *EXCEPT* KONO NOW?
  • HOW ARE BOTH OF THESE EPISODES MAKING IT SO KONO’S WEDDING IS ONLY A DISMISSABLE TOPIC OF CONVERSATION?
  • HOW IS THAT THIS WEDDING DOES NOT EXIST WHILE IT’S EXISTING?
  • WHY IS KONO THE ONLY ONE ON THE WHOLE TEAM IN FRUMPY, NEUTRAL COLORED, PLAIN CUT, CLOTHES DURING THE WHOLE RITZY, SNAZZY, DRESSED UP JAMES BOND ESCAPADE?
  • Because it bears repeating. Seriously.
  • (…..though I super loved her shirt in the first episode, and want it. So I know she has normal clothes that look amazing she could have been in, even on her ‘supposed make-up and hair’ morning. Sorry, no dice. You can have two well dressed ladies side by side. You didn’t need it to just be one of the bridesmaids reappearing as a Hot, Gorgeous Love Interest.)
  • I am so sorry, Grace Park. I understand now why you seemed hurt in your interview about how you weren’t going to get any focus at all on your wedding, even on your wedding day.
  • I would be hurt too if all the focus on my wedding day episode was everywhere but me, and if the only inserted couple tension scenes in my wedding episodes had absolutely nothing to do with me or my fiance.

Catherine Rollins

  • Appears awkwardly and cutely, like she should
  • Has her character appearance broken down instantly by the boys talking about what her intentions toward Steve are
  • I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT WHEN MY EX FROM A YEAR AGO COMES INTO TOWN, MY FIRST THOUGHT IS NOT – HEY, ARE YOU HERE TO FUCK WITH BREAK MY HEART AGAIN?
  • ESPECIALLY WHEN SAID EX HAS ONLY APPEARED DUE TO THE WEDDING OF A MUTUAL FRIEND. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT’S POINTED OUT, IN THE EPISODE EXPLICITLY, THAT THEY HADN’T CALLED YOU A SINLGE TIME IN THAT TIME. (Can we talk at the masculine egocentricness in this context? Maybe we shouldn’t.)
  • The next and only things we get. Cath is hot in a dress. She stands on a beach watching and waiting, and gets a You Saved The Day hug and kiss, and then an I missed you scene.
  • Things we never got, also, in order –
  • Any word about how Cath’s amazing year in Afghanistan doing the job she wanted was. WHY DID WE NOT EVEN GET TO HEAR HOW NAJBI IS? DOES NO ONE CARE HOW HER LITTLE SCHOOL SHE MADE TO PROTECT THOSE KIDS IS? BUELLAR?
  • Why is she suddenly reduced to “How long do you want me to stay?” Where did the self-actualized, in charge of her life and having her own allies and necessary choices, Cath who rode off on a bike made of possession and hero-mettle to save a friend, who even once she stayed there, decided to do even more good for the kids there, suddenly get back to letting Steve be the sole decider of her future again?
  • ….who are “my guys” she’s working with? And do not start with her working with The Navy unless you want to see my body become a raging ball of flames.
  • A: She can’t be working for the Navy if she got a three week Dishonorable Discharge. (Because there is no possible way on God’s Green Earth to retire from the Navy in a three week or even three month period. End of story. It’s not real and possible.)
  • B: If we bypass A, like it doesn’t exist, like the show has been doing for years now, she STILL can’t be working in The Naval Reserves now if she went AWOL in Afghanistan for a year to find an old ally and help kids there.
  • But it’s all cool. Doesn’t matter. Because she’s awkward and hot and on your arm and used her resources for your case and is sitting next to you and missed you. What.

I’m so confused. And patently a little ragey. My girls. My girls. MY GIRLS. You all deserved so much better. It doesn’t matter which ones of you are my favorites or not my favorites.

YOU. ALL. DESERVED. SO. MUCH. MUCH. BETTER. THAN. ALL. OF. THIS.

The adventures of Jesse and the NEW Order of the Stone are set to continue this month! In the first episode since the Wither Storm finale, Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 5 - ‘Order Up’ will be available starting March 29th!

And that’s not the only exciting news for Minecraft: Story Mode players today… we can also reveal that Order Up! won’t be the last you see of Jesse, as Episode Five will bridge the gap between the Wither Storm story arc, and three all-new adventures that will continue as post-season episodes set to release in the coming months of 2016!

These continuing Adventures of the New Order of the Stone will follow the additional escapades of Jesse and the group as they explore new and unfamiliar worlds beyond their own. All three of these episodes will be add-ons to the season, so you’ll need to own Minecraft: Story Mode in order to purchase and play these three chapters in the series which will include episodes 6, 7, and 8.

We’re keeping further info on those three extra episodes a secret for now, but what can we tell you about the imminent Episode Five?

On a tip from Ivor, Jesse and friends head to an abandoned temple holding mysterious treasures. Ambushed by former Ocelot Aiden and his crew, our heroes find themselves in an entirely new world: Sky City! As they explore, the Order finds that resources are at a premium, and nothing but 'The Void’ exists below the known world. When Aiden convinces Sky City’s ruler that the New Order of the Stone are up to no good, you’ll need to make some tough choices to clear your name, and keep Aiden from destroying an innocent world.

The cast of Minecraft: Story Mode also continues to expand as Jesse, played by Patton Oswalt (Ratatouille) or Catherine Taber (Star Wars Rebels), join Ivor, played by Paul Reubens (Pee-wee’s Big Holiday) and the gang on a trip to the skies. They’ll meet a growing cast that includes Sean Astin (The Goonies, The Lord of the Rings) as Reginald, the loyal Captain of the Guard, Jim Meskimen (Parks and Recreation) as the rebellious Milo, and Melissa Hutchison (The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series) as the Founder of Sky City.

Are you ready to tangle with Aiden again? Excited to explore an entirely new Minecraft world with Jesse and the crew? Dive back into Minecraft: Story Mode on March 29th in Episode Five: Order Up! – and stay tuned in the time ahead for more news on the Continuing Adventures of the New Order of the Stone!
