Iris melanocytoma

An iris melanocytoma is a strongly pigmented nodular tumour with a highly textured surface. The majority of the lesions develop in the inferior and lateral parts of the iris.

This disease is rare and aside from visible darkly pigmented melanocytic lesions, patients don’t usually have any other symptoms. However if symptoms are present they may include pigment dispersion, secondary glaucoma and intraocular inflammation (iritis).
