Automatic writing is an old form of divination in which

The detail that has been put into this deck is absolutely amazing.
The deck is available in light and dark editions. I was lucky enough to get both by backing the product on Kickstarter.
So here are a few images…..
As I opened my package the first thing I noticed was the black tissue paper with the decks logo on it, this attention to detail even with the packaging made me feel like a valued customer.
In the package was 2x decks of cards, both light and dark, a silver “yes” “no” coin and then a card for each of the decks which was signed and numbered.
In the deck you have the normal numbered cards ace through King. The Ace, Jack, Queen and King have detailed pictures on them, the type of pictures that you would see in a tarot deck. The numbered cards have the normal playing card suits on them but there is a little sneaky detail on them which really does help if you started reading tarot before reading playing cards.
If you look at the 9 of hearts card (above), in the right hand corner you will notice a cup. This tells you that this card is the 9 of cups in a normal tarot deck. With the queen of spades (above) you will notice a sword on the top right. I LOVE how the designer added this detail.
It really does open the door to people that have never read playing cards before.
Also included in the deck are four of the major arcana card: The Fool, The Lovers, Death and The Tower. You can also purchase the expansion kit which includes all the major arcana cards but these won’t be released until December 2015.
Trying to revisit an old idea with a completely different technique. When attending university, I took some credits working on an independent-study project which dealt largely with mediumship and spirit photography. That body of work was more or less in-camera manipulation through long-exposure mixed with some light digital editing. I did not consider them successful.
With these pieces, I’ve been taking a different route and searching for (some would suggest - dubiously) more authentic results. The final image is made from multiple passes of exposure from a broken flatbed scanner used as an object of concentration/manipulation during sessions of light-trance mediumship which I have been conducting in my studio.
Following capture, I assemble these exposures together into compositions within standard image editing software and conduct light editing of colour, sharpness, and contrast.
I have been encouraged by the powerfully apophenic suggestions which appear in the first series of images; forms emerge resembling anatomy and structures that are not present (or capable of being imaged) during the experimental process.
A Little Manifesto on “Spirituality” and the experience of “it.”
(This has been brewing for a while now, and I finally got the tap on the shoulder to get it all out. I get a little bit…incensed here. And I apologize if it comes out harsh. If it does seem a little rough around the edges, it’s because I want you to hear me. Really hear me. This is important.)
This is the truth as I know it.
Have you ever felt real pain when you saw someone wipe out on t.v.? You might have cringed, or gotten the “heebie jeebies”?
Have you ever been around someone who outwardly appeared fine, but being near them made you feel sad? And then later they confessed how depressed they have been?
Have you ever gotten a weird feeling that you shouldn’t trust someone you just met, and then later had that mistrust validated?
Do large crowds drain you, or sometimes energize you?
These things are ways of experiencing empathy. Almost everyone is to some degree empathetic. People with strong empathy pick up on these feelings without the help of any rational, logical, or visible stimuli.
Empathy is clairsentience.
Feeling like you are being watched, or followed, is also clairsentience.
Do you dream?
Can you picture a person, place, or thing, in vivid detail?
Have you ever heard someone call your name, but no one was there?
Have you ever heard voices?
Have you ever said something so amazing and inspiring, at just the right moment, that it didn’t even feel like the words were your own?
Have you ever just “known” something? Inexplicably? Maybe you just knew that there would be a great parking spot waiting for you when you pulled up to the grocery store.
Have you ever had a nagging feeling that your mother was going to call you, and then within the hour that phone call comes in?
Have you ever had a random thought about your friend, and you had a feeling that they might be having a rough time? So you get in touch - and wow, yeah, they’re having a shit day?
This is intuition. Knowing something “intuitively” is pretty well accepted even among non-spiritual circles.
But guess what, intuition is claircognizance.
Clairsentience, clairvoyance, claircognizance, clairaudience, these all involve “Psychic” - metaphysical - “sixth” senses.
These are the senses that psychics and mediums use to connect to the energy of other people, and to the energies of Spirits.
Everyone has these abilities, to one degree or another.
THESE ABILITIES ARE NOT SPECIAL.
We are all born with the ability to use them, or not use them. I choose to exercise these abilities, and use them, but that does NOT make me more “spiritual” than someone who doesn’t know how to work with these senses, or chooses not to.
The more you tell yourself that you don’t have “it,” that you don’t have what the “spiritual” people have, the truer that becomes because we create our own realities.
So stoppit. We are all special.
You are special. Whether you feel your connection to your higher-power-of-choice when you read scripture, or great literature, or listen to classical music, or get your feet in the grass, or eat an incredible confection, or look at a sunset, or hear birdsong, or hug your mother.
It’s all valid. Don’t compare your experience of the world to someone else’s, and judge your experience as either inferior, or superior.
It is what it is. You are who you are. You are exactly where you should be, and you can go anywhere that you want to.
“Of all the necromantic tools, none is more maligned, misunderstood, and misused than the infamous Ouija board. Thanks largely to the sensational fictions of Hollywood and the media—as well as misinformed “experts” — the Ouija board has come to be regarded as a problematic device that can open a doorway to demonic entities eager to torment and possess the living. The late demonologist Ed Warren once called the Ouija board a proven “notorious passkey to terror.” From my perspective, however, the negativity has been blown way out of proportion.
While it’s true that using the Ouija can result in the kinds of problems we discussed in the previous chapter, those warnings apply to any method for conjuring spirits. I do not believe that the Ouija board is uniquely hazardous. That being said, if you have a hard time getting past your personal fears about the board, it’s best to skip it as a tool of spirit contact in favor of a method you feel more comfortable with. For the bold and fearless, the Ouija can serve a useful purpose. Just remember, any spirit work will open doors, so be ready to handle the results!”
