medicine pageants

‘doses of pageantry’

I’m not a fan of pageants. I didn’t even bother to check Shamcey on the recently held and much talked-about Ms. Universe. But don’t get me wrong, I support Pinoys who represent, all the way.

I just find it funny that my past 3 weekends were pageant loaded. Here’s why…

Week1 (September 22, 2011) - My cousin, Kuya Ron, joined the FEU-NMRF Medicine Model of the Year. He won Mr. Congeniality, Sun Cellular Texters’ Choice ward and he was the male title-holder, FEU-NMRF Medicine Male Model of the Year.

Week2 (October 1, 2011) - My high school friend celebrated his birthday with the rest of our high school barkada (gang). One of our friend, Philippine Bar topnotcher Atty. Apol, brought his smart and beautiful fiancee former Binibining Pilipinas Universe Atty. Tere Licaros. It was funny how the rest of our barkada, all guys, interviewed her about pageant stuff, like the beauty queen wave and Shamcey’s answer. She was game and really had interesting stories. It was cool that we got a chance to get to know her better. She’s a real beauty queen inside out.

Week3 (October 7, 2011) It’s my brother Romeo’s turn at another medicine pageant, this time at UST. He made us all proud as he won top prize, Mr. Thomasian Doctor Personality along with special awards such as Mr. FABulous, Mr. Fashion and Style and Best in Formal Wear.

Again, congratulations to my cousin, Kuya Ron and my brother Romero. Represent! :)
