Do you ever watch tv? Which are better, modern tv shows or old time radio dramas?

they’re very different things. modern tv–or at least a good chunk of it–is focused around scandal, which isnt something i really care about. also theres lots of dramatic background noises to increase how dramatic things are, but mostly i really cant take it seriously. i like to watch fantasy or scifi stuff, though. and steve and i like to watch sports. (we’ve been very carefully keeping him away from any extreme sports and the xgames. the last thing we need is steve trying to use the Deathbike to do stunts).

i like to watch cutthroat kitchen. it’s basically exactly what happens when more than one avenger tries to use the kitchen at the same time, except i dont have to help clean up afterwards.

the old radio dramas were fun. campy by modern standards, but we used to really enjoy them. tony was nice enough to get old recordings for stevie and i, so we could hear how things ended for our favorite characters. be warned: tony is terrible to listen to radio with. he gets easily distracted and starts talking.

steve and i used to have HUGE arguments about what certain characters looked like as kids. he would draw what he thought they looked like, and i would draw what i thought they looked like, and steve would always win because nobody ever looks like what i draw. humans dont work like that.

i am not good at drawing.

Random 5am thought I had instead of sleeping last night…er, morning. I’ve been in this fandom 2 years and somehow this never occurred to me:

Did anyone ever think about the logistics of having that many puppies in one room when they keep the recruits in the same dorm? They are tiny puppies. A bunch of tiny puppies who haven’t been trained yet. Was part of Kingsman training seeing how they survive sleep deprivation? Did the recruits take shifts to try and get at least some sleep, leaving someone awake to deal with tiny puppy bladders and accidents and any other assorted chaos at 4am?

I’m now imagining a bunch of crying and sleep deprived recruits in the dorm just begging the puppies to let them sleep. Just one hour, please for the love of god.

The puppies just blink up at them with their big innocent eyes. The puppies are the real test to see who the strongest are.

To me you look the most beautiful when you think you look the worst.
—  Poets Love Her

“… Lily Evans married James Potter under a bespelled blue sky. Petunia did not attend, and neither did Severus. Lily’s father walked her down no aisles, but Hagrid brought giant, beautiful squash blossoms from his garden for her bouquet. Alice (now Longbottom) painted up her eyelashes while Remus worked patiently on her nails. Sirius, Peter, and James passed around a flask of whiskey Sirius had stolen from his father’s best stores.

While Severus distracted Karkaroff with talk of Quidditch prospects and tugged and tweaked and amplified and cloaked the guard spells on a Gringotts vault, the girl down the street became Lily Evans Potter. She kissed James to the sound of cheers and catcalls. Almost everybody she loved was watching her laugh, watching James pick her up and swing her around and crush her into a hug that involved only happy crying.

James asked McGonagall how she could manage to look disapproving even on his wedding day, grinning ear to ear. Albus wiped his tears with his long white beard. Alice romped around the dance floor with Lily, both of them smiling furiously, almost flying, impossible to catch. Mad-Eye Moody gave a speech, only stopping twice during it to throw friendly hexes at any of his cadets he didn’t think were being vigilant enough. He called Lily “a reckless hellion child,” and he called James “damn lucky.”

Severus collapsed into bed at four the next morning, the tips of his hair singed with dragon flame and his throat sore with unspoken spells. If Lily had pinged his radio for a congratulations or a hello or a good-bye, he hadn’t been around to hear it.”

also can we talk about the fact that when asked about other member’s habits jongin didn’t choose one of the many crazy, weird, hilarious habits that we know the exo members have he chose something as simple as kyungsoo lying in bed with his laptop because like obviously ksoo was the first thing to come to mind and can you imagine how cute and endearing he must think that habit is for it to be the first thing he thinks of before all of the weird shit exo does in their dorm

Quick Thought

((OOC: Being on holiday this last week had meant that I’m in minimal clothes a lot of the time. A lot of my body is on show and, while I occasionally whip my shirt off when I’m playing a character and generally put on a confident facade, my body is something I have a huge issue with.

I started modelling at a young age and so was told as a child that imperfections weren’t acceptable. Id watch as they airbrushed dark circles and stretch marks and only then told me I was pretty. I’ve been thinking about that a lot today.

I’m not about to tell you to love your stretch marks or your spots and blemishes because I don’t love my own, and self love really isn’t as simple as some nerd on the internet saying ‘love yourself’ but I will say this: imperfections make us human. They mean we have grown both physically and mentally to become the people we are today. They mean we’ve managed to get through bad times and that we have experienced the good. To grow is the most natural thing on earth and imperfections are proof that we have lived.

I don’t know where I’m going with this and I’ll probably delete it later, I’ve just been thinking about it a lot today ❤️

The best part of “Dear John” is how Taylor subtly changes the lyric from “I should’ve know” to “you should’ve known” at the end of the song as she realises it was his fault not hers, and nobody can tell me any different.
