Astrid strode out of the Haddock house and wrapped her arms around herself. Winter was officially here and it was getting colder by the minute.
She walked down the many steps that led into the village and began searching for the new chief. The girl strolled past buildings and houses that were finally rebuilt. There was still some ice here and there, but Berk was finally starting to look like it used to…before Drago Bludvist.
As she made her way through the village, some of the fellow Vikings smiled at her and some gave her an annoyed look. Change was difficult for some. So, losing their chief and getting used to a new one was hard for many. She was getting the same looks now, with the announcement of her new role. It didn’t bother Astrid at all, not like it seemed to trouble Hiccup. She would tell him not to worry, that it will take time to earn their trust. He would agree but she could tell it still ate at him a little.
The girl spotted Eret heading up to the Great Hall.
“Eret!” Astrid called from the bottom of the steps.
He turned around, “Astrid?”
“Have you seen Hiccup?”
Eret stood in thought for a moment, his hand on his chin, “I think the last time I saw him, he was flying down to the docks.” He pointed in the direction, like Astrid wouldn’t know where the docks were.
“Thanks!” Astrid turned back around and headed that way.
I was not really satisfied with how Blindsided ended (obviously about the Hiccstrid lol). I love Hiccup’s line “it has to be just perfect.” but im not very satisfied with the overall scene, at least for me. hehe. Anyway, this is just a self-indulgence piece of fluff. And my english isnt the best, But I hope you still enjoy it~ :)
Astrid’s family was brutally murdered by vampires when she was only a small child. Taken in by merciless vampire hunters with a unquenchable thirst for vengeance, she’s trained from a young age to hate, track and kill vampires. When she gets the chance to take down Hiccup Haddock the Third, heir to the Haddock Clan, the vampire family suspected for killing Astrid’s own, she doesn’t hesitate. But when faced with the task, she finds the vampire to be entirely different from what she expected, and decides to protect him from the people who trained her to kill him.
I’m fighting a really nasty cold/sinus infection and have been delirious all day but somehow managed to think up this during one of my naps and ????? Someone please convince me not to turn this into a full length fic cause I REALLY wanna turn this into a full length fic D:
A/N: Here it is, a little thing I wrote about/continuing the conversation Astrid and Stoick had in Astrid’s Team! So, be warned–RTTE S2 E1 spoilers ahead!
Forgive me if this has been done before, but this was such a powerful scene–I hardly do the beautiful animation and voice acting any justice, but here we go anyway! :) Implied Hiccstrid.
Astrid’s heavy gaze drifted towards the other
riders and their dragons. In one swift motion, she peeled her blanket off of
her legs, pushed herself to her feet, and swept her axe from the cold stone
If she couldn’t sleep… she could at least make
The Hofferson strode towards the exit with
silent footsteps. Upon reaching the arch, she turned very briefly glanced over
her shoulder, taking in the sight of her friends. Supporting her. It
wasn’t verbal support, but Astrid didn’t need words. The act of merely keeping
her company… That was enough. They were there for her day and night, and always
seemed to be around when trouble came along. She supposed that trouble had a
strange way of finding them, but still. It was like a strange metaphor, like the ones that Tuff would conjure out of thin air.
Astrid needed to protect the people she cared
about. She had to constantly be there. …Didn’t she?
I’ve come to the conclusion that if you’re doing any kind of httyd AU, the dragons kind of…can’t be human? not unless you want to change up their relationship with the “vikings”. I mean, it’s not as though the dragons in canon are exactly…subservient, but at the same time there’s this feeling of “and now everyone has one!” that wouldn’t sit well with me were they, you know, human people.
so the conclusion would have to be just a simple “and now we’re all friends” instead of “and now we have augmented our society with the powers of these former enemies!!” also, the whole “we’ve killed thousands of them” thing would be a lot harder to just gloss over.
Modern AU. Hiccup’s SUPPOSED to be learning about the Cold War. But it’s difficult with one girl constantly badgering him, and even more difficult when Astrid Hofferson is sitting two seats away from him, making his heart pound in his chest. Oneshot.
“So the Wall of Berlin,” the teacher stated after taking a long drink from his water bottle, “it created a literal divide between East and West Berlin. Already, Germany was divided, as we said yesterday, after the events of World War II. But now…” He made a motion with his hands to indicate a divide. “Since Berlin is too big, both sides have it.”
Hiccup scribbled his notes, barely understanding what he was writing. It wasn’t that what the teacher was saying was confusing, it was just that his handwriting was very messy (Hiccup’s, not the teacher’s). He could barely read it now, how would he study from it later?
He could just take a picture of the notes after class. And since that was allowed, and was a real, allowed, A-okay thing to do, why was anyone required to take notes in the first place?
The daily schedule of the class was that there would be notes and a lecture for the first half, and then a video would play for the second. It was a good method, seeing as the teacher would always find a video that repeated what he said but with pictures. That way, if you weren’t listening the first time, you could get it the second time.
Unfortunately, the teacher would go and sit in the back of the class while the video was playing, and no one really watched it, they did their homework or talked. The only person who really watched it was Astrid.
Short chapter. Next one is pretty long, so once I clean it up a bit and make sure it’s ship shape I’ll post it :)
About Serendipity (Aka Dadcup AU): Hiccup and Astrid got pregnant at 18. Except Hiccup never knew, because, for certain reasons, Astrid broke things off and never told him. Now Astrid’s stuck with having to deal with her choices, and her life is getting turned upside down.
She grabbed her bags and coat from the bin once she cleared
the scanner and slipped on her shoes. She looked for signs that indicated where
her gate was as she walked down the long, wide, busy corridor, and turned her
