(i probably submit and ask too often and you can tell bc of my camera. also sorry this is so long it ended up with a back story)
but i’m really pleased i managed to make a chewy necklace for hands-free chew!! I have this particular wristband i liked to chew (will chew any but this one is Good) and i ended up chewing through it bc it was old and the previous owner (also autistic friend) used to chew it as well. when i say old i mean 8 years ish.
still kept chewing on it just looped the ends round and chewed the middle instead. however this caused one of two problems: ends would poke my face or i’d hold it and have one hand free.
but just now i found my spare necklace cords (which have clasps etc) and then remembered i have a pot of safety pins so i pushed on through both broken ends of the wristband to male the loop and threaded the pin onto the necklace. on the longest chain its the exact right length and i have both hands free to type :)
i start sixth form in uni (basically junior highschool but at a different place) and this could be useful in the classroom for mostly undisruptive, hands-free stimming. i like to chew cos it helps me focus and thin silicone is nicer than gum. (they do allow gum but i go through loads when i’m concentrating.)
sorry for taking up your time with this. plz excuse my face existing.
