anonymous asked:

Consider McCoy being the one that was injured instead of Spock and Spock has no idea what to do so a half conscious McCoy has to give him step by step directions to remove the metal in his side. Once the metal is removed, McCoy blacks out from blood loss and Spock begins to panic even more, but stays by his side until help arrives. Even after they are beamed aboard the Franklin, Spock does not leave McCoy's side.

Still continued: On a particular evening when the sky was rough, McCoy’s stitches came undone, which sent Spock into a complete panic. He wanted so badly to take the doctor’s pain away, but try as he might, McCoy denied him the right. It wasn’t until Chekov of all people found a way to stop the bleeding and was able to sew his side back together and McCoy had returned to his senses that Spock was able to breathe again.

Add on to the last ask: consider McCoy waking up, his chest heavily bandaged, and a blanket covering him from the waist down and the first person he sees is Spock, who actually looks grateful he is awake. McCoy attempts to sit yo but is quickly stopped by Spock. “An unwise decision, Doctor” he says, resting a hand on McCoy’s shoulder.

ok so you know how we’ve been dealing with cultural nostalgia for different decades as time’s passed? 2000’s had a boner for the 1980’s, we’re starting to get a boner for the 1990’s, etc.

what if the 24th century had a cultural hard-on for the 20th/21st century????

Uhura collecting old copies of Rosetta Stone and listening to them on her “vintage early 21st century laptop computer”

McCoy trying to play Surgeon Simulator 2013 (probably while hella drunk)

Chekov becoming obsessed with “in soviet russia” jokes (DEAR GOD)

Kirk becoming the meme aficionado of the bridge (much to Spock’s continued disappointment and frustration)
