ok headcanon in the canon universe except yuuri isn’t a figure skater but...
an artist who (like in canon) is viktor’s biggest fan. He runs a successful fan account and creates banners and artwork of Viktor and his programmes, and it gets the attention of viktor’s publicity guy and he’s like hey good publicity! viktor come meet this fan and stuff and take some pictures, and viktor is all for it because he’s used to doing stuff like that.
DON’T GET HIM WRONG
he loves his fans but he’s just so tired after being in the industry for like 203820493 years. some ppl make use of him and some ppl aren’t sincere, and so many people say they love him and seem to worship the ground he walks on but he’s still left feeling alone after it all and he’s so sick and tired of it but he tries his best to treat all his fans nicely partially because he’s nice and partially because management tells him to (i mean when you’re as huge as viktor you’re practically a BRAND)
and so he goes to meet yuuri and he’s already put on his sweet polite facade and got the whole “thank you so much for being my fan!” line ready and he never actually LOOKED at the art yuuri drew for him until he met him when yuuri brought this giant ass oil painting to gift viktor because he’s such a fan and viktor sees it and…
it’s like yuuri sees right through him. in his art he doesn’t draw viktor all magnificent but instead, almost… sad? it’s a piece based on one of his programme, and this programme was something viktor poured his sorrow and his frustrations into and yet everyone called it BEAUTIFUL and a DISPLAY OF HIS LOVE and viktor finds himself so so so UN-understood. So when he sees yuuri’s piece, he finds that it hits so close to home and he can’t handle it and he’s intrigued.
like WHAT DOES HE KNOW ABOUT ME?????
and so he warms up to yuuri immediately, and they chat and yuuri mentions casually that he’s trying to build up his portfolio but y’know he’s still looking for the perfect subject. he wants to try live painting but no one really caught his eye yet and viktor is like HEY DAWG WHAT ABOUT ME?
and yuuri is like sh00k and of course he says yes, and viktor’s pubs team thinks that it’s an amazing PR stunt by viktor, but viktor just wants to get to know the one person who seems to understand him, who seems to see through all the glitz and the glamour,
and yuuri just wants to get to know viktor. not Viktor Nikiforov, not The Living Legend, but viktor, the one that inspires him to paint.

Starring Viktor as the Prince Yuuri as Belle Yuri as the Clock Chris as the Candlestick and other characters as the other household objects. And maybe JJ as Gaston.
There was once a vain prince named Viktor who loved anything beautiful. He especially loved the winter, for everything was pure and white and cold and beautiful.
Viktor’s vanity slowly took up the space in his heart, until kindness and compassion no longer had a place there.
Read more under the cut.
He turned away an ugly beggar who was really a powerful enchantress, sick of mortals and their greed, choosing to reward those who are good and punish those who are not.
Viktor becomes a hideous beast, and his servants become objects. he witnesses his fiancée look at him in disgust, running from him in fear, before losing all recollection of him.
The only way for the curse to be broken is for someone to truly love the beast before the ice fully melted off the frozen enchanted rose, and Viktor now believes… no one could ever love a beast. He falls into despair.
Viktor’s former self is forgotten by all; Now the people speak of a terrifying beast— with angry, beady eyes and long sharp canines that poked out his snout— hidden in the woods, waiting to eat little children who misbehaved.
he spends the first quarter of his sentence in anger, blaming the world for his misfortune. He is now the thing he never wanted to be, the thing he despised, for all of eternity, and he vents his rage and despair on his servants.
That rage soon turns into guilt after a few passing years. He can no longer face his servants, and he spends his life from then on even more alone than before. He can no longer bear to see himself in the mirror, so the ones that have not been shattered by him are taken away and covered in a chamber.
He resigns himself to being a beast forever, and suddenly the snow and the winter that he loved feels colder than before, and his once extravagant room feels a little roomier than before, and finally his heart which was once full of vanity feels… emptier than before.
He is a beast, and no one will ever love a beast.
Yuuri is a poor farmer’s boy in a little village who loves to read and to skate.
But fun and leisure and a better future are things for the fortunate. When you’re not a wealthy merchant’s son, you have no right to an education, and no place on the frozen lake in winter. Your place is in the barn, making sure your livestock survives the winter.
Even so, Yuuri’s parents give him an hour or two Everyday to head to the town’s only book keeper, and an hour more to read. When he’s done helping out at home, he gets yet another hour on the ice.
The town thinks the whole thing is atrocious, but Yuuri is happy.
But one day the richer children and their parents place a barricade around the frozen lake; only those who are able to pay the exorbitant fee are let in.
They spent good money hiring someone to make sure that only people of “similar lineage” are mingling with their children. The normal villagers do not help; serves Yuuri right for ever thinking he could be anything but a farmer’s son.
Distraught and frustrated, Yuuri runs into the woods. He isn’t doing that for no reason though. There are rumours that somewhere deep in the woods lies an abandoned castle, filled with riches and treasures, though no one has ever found it.
But somehow— and perhaps through magic— a path opens up in the forest, and another closes, and Yuuri heads down the only path he sees.
And he finds the castle.
He enters, and it is silent. The servants in their enchanted— or rather, cursed— forms stir, only to feel disappointed at the sight of a boy. That’s not what they need. They need a girl!
And so they do nothing as he searches for treasure, and do nothing still when he pockets a single gold ring (the ring of Viktor’s fiancée)— just as they did nothing when the young prince became spoiled and rotten.
Until they notice what it is he has taken. And suddenly the entire castle is up in arms, desperate to stop the boy.
Though, there isn’t a need for that, as Yuuri takes the ring back out his pocket. He can’t bring himself to take it, even if the castle has been abandoned for god knows how long.
But it is too late.
All Yuuri hears is a terrifying growl before something snags him and throws him into a dungeon.
He is frightened. He didn’t know the castle still belonged to anyone. Still, he believes that perhaps he can reason with the owner.
He asks for the owner to come into the light. Out steps Viktor, in all his monstrosity, and Yuuri is shocked by his appearance.
Viktor takes his shock for disgust, and yells at him in a moment of anger.
“YOU WILL NEVER GET TO LEAVE, THIEF.”
Yuuri is left alone, terrified and distraught. The servants realise they cannot watch an innocent boy be trapped here, just as they have been.
Chris (the candlestick) lets him out, and they let him out sneakily, and bring him to a frozen lake. Yuuri needs to leave from there, as Viktor’s room has a clear view of the path he came from.
Yuuri thanks them, and is halfway across the lake, when he hears a crack, and his own scream, before he’s engulfed in a pool of soundlessness and cold.
Viktor hears the scream as well, and bolts to the lake. The servants are circled around where Yuuri fell, helpless.
Without a second thought, Viktor jumps into the cold frigid waters, and grabs the human boy.
Before Yuuri loses consciousness he sees a paw reaching out for him, and eyes filled with such concern and depth and humanity. And then everything turns dark.
When he wakes up again, he sees the high ceiling of a room in the castle. The servants tell him what happened, and he finds himself looking for the beast who saved his life.
He finds the beast sick, with a high fever. Somehow, that only makes the beast seem more human than before to Yuuri, though the eyes that Yuuri remembers seeing is proof enough.
He nurses the beast back to health, and slowly, the two bond. He learns that the beast has a name: Viktor. And the beast learns that the human boy has one too: Yuuri. And that Yuuri also loves reading as much as he does. After all, books were the only solace for Viktor in the confines of his own loneliness.
When he feels better, he takes Yuuri to his library, and Yuuri is amazed.
He learns that Yuuri also loves skating, and after a few pushes from the servants, he takes him to the frozen lake after a beautiful dinner. (cue Tale As Old As Time)
Yuuri is awed. A whole lake, just for the two of them! Yuuri is hesitant at first, afraid that the same accident will repeat, but Viktor reassures him; if he falls, Viktor will always be there to rescue him.
And as the two skate together in the night, the moonlight illuminating the area and the ice reflecting it, the servants watch on in hope.
Because though Yuuri wasn’t the girl they thought they needed, and though the two may not have realised it yet, it is clear to everyone else who sees them. Slowly but surely, they’re falling in love.
WELL WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SHORT AU PLOT IDEA THINGY TURNED SUPER LONG.
I just watched beauty and the beast two days ago and I’ve been DYING to do this. Am I the only one obsessed with Evermore (the beast’s song)? I might just write a full length fic just to have Viktor singing that. And also, I am a huge wuss but I already teared up at the very beginning where Belle’s Father was singing How Does A Moment Last Forever.
Once again, with all my AU plots, I might end up making this an actual fic, though I’m not sure since I’m still working on my original one right now! SO please do not use this (obv I don’t own BATB, so free game, but like the specific details were thought up by me!)looking bk at this a year later oH MY GOD I WAS ANNOYING LMAO FEEL FREE TO WRITE ID LOVE TO READ IT LMFAO LOOK @ ME POLICING IDEAS LMFAOOOO
Anyway, if you enjoyed this, feel free to follow me because I post loads of other content!
JJ's performance in episode 11 is so crucial in helping Yuuri move forward.
So I was really surprised when JJ choked in ep 11. If there was one person who I never thought would crack, it was JJ. I expected consistency from him, so when he messed up I was SUPER shocked.
And that’s the point.
Remember this scene from the same episode where Yuuri reacts to failing his jump? After executing a near perfect performance?
This is the look of someone who’s just… so angry at himself for failing. Someone who’s thinking “wow you’ve fucked up the year before and this year you have Viktor by your side and YOU STILL FUCK UP.”
Yet in episode 12 that’s no longer a prominent issue. You no longer see him terrified of failure, and you can tell that watching JJ gave him the insight that he needed.
This is him realising that even the most seemingly infallible are fallible. That they can and will cave in to the pressure from time to time, and that it’s okay.
And this is him realising that he’s NOT a failure. That he’s not some pathetic loser to everyone for messing up that jump.
And finally here’s where he finds a bit more confidence in himself and self-worth. Here’s where Yuuri realises that messing up does not undermine every other success he’s had, that it does not define him. That he failed at one jump, but he also succeeded at every other, and was brilliant enough to be one of the final six.
Here’s where he realises that he failed, and that he can forgive himself for that.
Hi guys! I’ve finally uploaded the very first chapter of a novel I’ve been planning for a looooong time!
WHAT IS THIS AU ABOUT?
This story takes place in an alternate fantasy universe. Basically, a long time ago, the gods came down to mingle with the mortals because they were bored. Mingling ends up becoming more than just talking and chatting and soon enough kids are born!
The kids of the gods inherited their powers, though the strength of it differed from person to person. The best way to tell how powerful and “close to the gods” a person was, was through their hair colour.
Those with the a lot of the gods power running in their blood had lighter hair. Those with lesser had darker. These people are called the Pures and Impures respectively.
As you can already guess, Viktor is at the very top of this class system. He is a noble, has immense power and wealth. Meanwhile, Yuuri, with jet black hair, had absolutely no powers at all.
blondes and light haired people typically have powers strong enough for combat or use to the society. They are all nobles and of the higher class and can attend the kingdom’s only academy.
Impures are brunettes and those with darker hair Colours. They do have powers, but so weak that it serves no practical purpose. The stronger ones are able to use their powers for mundane tasks like heating and cooking.

On Why Viktor Was Absolutely Smitten at the Banquet
So I was rewatching YOI (as you do c;) and noticed this scene:
Viktor had a very similar first proper interaction with both Yuris, and both of them had said startlingly similar things. With how much Kubo-sensei loves parallels, I don’t think this is any coincidence either.
Viktor being completely enthralled by Yuri made me squeal and make inhuman noises 5AM in the morning, but I never really quite understood what exactly it was about what Yuuri had said that touched him so deeply.. until now.
What Yuri had asked of Viktor was a skating routine – Viktor just had to choreograph it, and hand it over to Yuri. Granted, he’d have to teach him, but it’s simply a passing of skills and his skating expertise to someone else. What Yuuri had asked of Viktor was for him to be his coach. A coach doesn’t just teach.
Yuuri had essentially said that he wanted Viktor’s time and commitment– that he wanted Viktor himself, by his side [as i type this I realise that Viktor taking Yuuri’s words to mean that he’s asking for him to stay by his side, would explain why Yuuri performing his routine ‘Stay Close To Me’ would’ve been seen by Viktor as a reference and reiteration of his request at the banquet!]
Yuri asked for a routine. Yuuri asked for Viktor.
GOD this anime is so beautiful and well thought out that it does THINGS TO MY HEART. .
The love that Viktor has for Yuuri is absolutely beautiful.
Episode 10 really made me appreciate Viktuuri even more as a healthy and beautiful romance. I’m super happy that Kubo-sensei decided to portray it in such a healthy and human way.
From episode 10 we’ve realised that Yuuri had actually seduced Viktor at the previous Grand Prix, and that explained Viktor’s intimacy in the first few episodes and his surprise when Yuuri acted uncomfortable.
Viktor’s impression of Yuuri, and what captivated him, was Yuuri’s boldness. You have this guy dancing and battling others and being the life of the party, fearlessly asking for a world-class skater to be his coach.
And yet when Viktor shows up and does just that, Yuuri is shy and all tense, with low self esteem. In fact, he’s almost unreceptive.
What happened to the bold and passionate guy at the banquet? What happened to the guy who wanted Viktor to be his coach?
He’s still there, underneath all the other layers of Yuuri’s personality. It shows whenever Yuuri performs Eros or when he’s passionate about something.
But often, people don’t stick around Long enough to see that. They decide to leave when someone doesn’t live up to their initial expectations of the. And yet, Viktor stays and gets to know Yuuri regardless, because that’s just the kind of guy he is.
And even when he realises that the guy that initially caught his eye WAS somewhere in there, he never tried forcing Yuuri to act that way all the time, to become the person that he was initially attracted to.
In fact, the only time Viktor ever expected or pushed Yuuri to be even a little like the Yuuri he met at the banquet, was when he was trying to build his self-esteem and make Yuuri more confident of himself. It’s not about turning Yuuri into the person he wants him to be, but about helping Yuuri believe in himself.
People are not one dimensional, and they always have so many aspects to their personalities. Viktor understands that, and gets to know ALL of Yuuri, accepting and loving him for the person that he is; the confident and bold Yuuri, but also the insecure Yuuri, the anxious Yuuri, and the timid Yuuri.
Sure, Viktor stumbles and struggles sometimes, trying to figure out how to handle this side of Yuuri that he didn’t expect, but he learns from it to become a better partner and to become the support that Yuuri needs.
He’s starts thinking of what to do to help him, to be there for him, now knowing what Yuuri is like as a person.
Accepting someone for all that they are and understanding that that means having to deal with the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, and yet still loving them wholeheartedly is, in my opinion, absolutely beautiful.
So I make some comics on YOI and I’ve decided to compile them all into a single post so that it’s easy for readers and myself to find them. Future works will also be edited into this post, which will be tagged #YOICC.
Yuri Plisetski: Soldier Read with music here. Read without music here.
Just to reiterate once more here: I take zero credit for any of the images used c: I’ve always enjoyed telling stories but unfortunately my artistic skills aren’t good enough to portray things exactly how i envision them. I AM WORKING ON IT so that I’ll be able to create my own comics from scratch c:
EDIT: Please read the version with music in this post and help to reblog it instead! It’s the way i initially pictured this comic being read and i’d love if you guys could check that version out :)
Yuri Plisetsky: Soldier
Finally made a comic about Yuri! I took a lot of creative liberty with this one since Kubo-sensei didn’t reveal too much of the story surrounding Yuri’s family, though I feel like it’d be a sad one! I hope I managed to convey what I had in mind, and give Yuri’s character even more depth!
do reblog if you enjoyed this and feel free to follow me for more YOI related stuff! You can check out my other comics here.
