Highly endorsed drug store product: Maybelline Pearl Lipstick

I need to preface this by saying that I don’t wear lipstick. I am a religious eos lip balm abuser.

I decided to take the plunge the other day and bought some lipstick at the drug store. Who knew I would come to LOVE it. I bought Maybelline’s Pearl Lipstick in #730 Pearl Gleam.

For a girl who does not wear lipstick… EVER this is a perfect product to transition into the world of lipstick wearers. The color is half a shade to a shade darker than my natural lip color so it’s not very dramatic. I love it because when I wear it, it makes my lips look like a better version of themselves and it doesn’t look CRAZY. It’s not overly obvious that I’m wearing lipstick and I like that.

Anyway, after a few weeks of using it, I have to recommend it! Since it’s a drug store brand it’s not very expensive and for girls who don’t normally wear lipstick, it’s perfect! It’s also got a lot of moisture in it so your lips don’t feel like the desert!

#getlippyweek Day 3 | Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick

(couldn’t find shade at Boots so above is an Amazon link)

I haven’t really tried all that much from Maybelline as a brand, but after buying this Color Sensational lipstick I’d definitely try more. From my experience shiny/satin finishes in lip products usually equals a reduced wear time compared to mattes, but this wears incredibly well. There is a small amount of bleeding but compared with the number of hours it was on my lips it was very minimal. The true-cherry-red formula actually settles to a semi-matte finish that isn’t at all drying but does leave a punchy stain, without setting in to any lines or clinging to dry areas.

Overall would I repurchase?

Yes I can’t wait to try more of these!
