in season 1 keith and lance had to overcome their differences and managed to (not completely but still). now season 3 has them dealing with keith’s possible new position as a leader and things will be without any doubt different and new and i crave a “we are a good team” parallel scene so badly
do you ever think that maybe lance wrote letters to his family? like every letter the family recieved was brought to them by one of his siblings that came running in, waving the envelope as if they had found a golden ticket. theyre trailed by the rest of the kids bc they wanted to bring back the letter from their cool S P A C E cadet for a big brother lance. lance kept the letters light and funny bc he knew his mom would read them outloud to a bunch of overexcited kids sitting criss-cross.
they suddenly they stop getting mail but dismiss it as lance not having time to sit down and write out his usual novel-length letters. but a few weeks go by and then when they get their next letter from the garrison they find its not from lance, rather news that hes gone missing. his dad has to explain to his kids that lance wont be sending them anymore letters bc hes busy. the older kids obviously not buying it but keep quiet for their younger siblings. so then every night hes gone his mom and dad read them over and over till their tears stain the pages and they can no longer read the water smudged words bc they just wanna know what happened to their son.
or maybe every night lance stares at his ceiling wishing he didnt leave the letters his family sent to him back at the garrison bc they either packed them up and locked it away or threw them away.
I know everyone’s like “oh gosh no Perce don’t make more devil deals” but damn he’s just really good at cutting deals. The scenes where he’s negotiating with Pure Evil have always been like the best scenes for dramatic tension and one-liners. god damn Taliesin ”You’re at the bottom of my List” Jaffe
Newt: Let’s begin our conversation. Graves: What’s on the note cards? Newt: They’re possible topics of conversation. Graves: Whales. Parades. Electricity. And the rest are blank. Newt: Yeah, well I couldn’t think of anything else.
