News & Newtype featuring the Super Monkey’s 4 in the 7/1993 issue of Newtype. This is pretty neat, you see a young Namie Amuro before she became the breakout star of the group. When that happened in 1994, the group changed its name to Namie Amuro with Super Monkey’s. Namie’s popularity skyrocketed and she left the group and went solo. The remaining members became MAX and remained popular without Namie.

know what’s funny to me? the Mad Max series was born from strange cases in the ER. George Miller was a doctor tending to all these people near death and just thought, “i wonder how patients like these could survive in a post-apocalyptic setting with only the bare minimal a for tools?”

so he just wrote a script with his friend, applied his medical knowledge whenever violence happened, and produced the first movie with his funds saved as an emergency doctor.

Mad Max is a medical adventure as much as it is car battles and post-apocalypse stories. GRANTED THERE’S SOME ARTISTIC LICENSE BEING HAD but you can tell a doctor’s writing the story. like in Fury Road, how Max performs MONKEY SURGERY on Furiosa, when he transfused blood he makes sure the blood goes all the way through the tube before sticking it in her arm so their wouldn’t be any air left inside and accidentally give Fury a heart attack.

IDK i love little details like that. It seems that everyone who worked in Fury Road was a Swiss-Army person
