New Town was a one-off 2009 Scottish drama, supposedly about town planning issues and a murder in the famous World Heritage Site central area of Edinburgh. In actuality Mark Gatiss and Max Bremer entirely stole the show as eccentric identically-suited Scottish-Finnish architects Purves and Pekkala, who are given the chance to redesign a church in Edinburgh’s New Town. Their mini-me-esque child Atte is also particularly adorable. You can watch the drama in its entirety on YouTube.

IMDB synopsis: “The New Town area of Edinburgh is a magnet for architects, estate agents and upwardly-mobile families, each wanting to remould it in their own way. So when the head of Scottish Heritage mysteriously falls from a high church tower, the suspicion of murder falls on them all.”
