🎬 On This Day | 3 years ago, on May 25th, 2014, The Normal Heart premiered on HBO. The Normal Heart (originally a play by Larry Kramer) tells “the story of the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s, taking an unflinching look at the nation’s sexual politics as gay activists and their allies in the medical community fight to expose the truth about the burgeoning epidemic to a city and nation in denial” (IMDB). Finn plays the character Albert.

Your father is bisexual. People think that word means dirty, but it doesn’t. It means I like men and I like woman equally.

‘Magic Mike XXL’s’ Matt Bomer: No Free Advice From Publicist Husband

Their conversations are more about school dropoffs and their kids’ lunches.

With a husband who is one of Hollywood’s A-list publicists, you’d think Matt Bomer would receive free advice. Yet the actor – whose presence on a surprise Magic Mike XXL float with Channing Tatum drew cheers at L.A.’s June 14 Pride Parade – says Slate PR’s Simon Halls doesn’t get in his business.

“We’re pretty good about separating church and state,” says Bomer, who is repped by Viewpoint. “Like any partner in any relationship, I seek counsel, but I have my own publicist. We have three kids under age 10, so we don’t have time to talk about [work]. We’re more concerned with making sure lunches are made and everyone gets to school on time.” Bomer, however, could easily rep Halls, who works with Tom Ford and Frances McDormand: “I married up. He’s an intelligent and kind soul.”

Golden Globe winner Bomer is best known for his work on such projects as The Normal Heart, White Collar and American Horror Story. He has a pair of anticipated upcoming projects with the lead role in a Montgomery Clift biopic followed by the Magnificent Seven remake. THR caught up with Bomer at the 20th anniversary Taste for a Cure, benefiting UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center on May 1.

Meanwhile, Magic Mike XXL arrives in theaters on July 1. It’s the follow-up to the 2012 breakout pic and is directed by Gregory Jacobs. Tatum and Bomer star alongside Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash and Adam Rodriguez. [hollywoodreporter]

With a little help from his freaking adorable kids, Matt Bomer takes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Though he forgot to name three other people to take the challenge.

Matt Bomer about his Emmy Nomination

At first, Bomer admitted he couldn’t even grasp the gravity of an Emmy nomination.

“I couldn’t even speak for the first minute,” he said. “I was overcome with gratitude, just the moment was so profound for me. I’ve been working in TV for 13 years and to have this moment, I was completely overwhelmed and had to collect myself for a bit. Simon knew firsthand how hard I worked on this role, how much we put into it, myself as an actor, and us collectively as a family. it was just really great to get to share that moment with him.

The three children Bomer shares with Halls aren’t old enough to understand what their father is doing and the walls he’s breaking down, but that doesn’t mean they can’t share in a joyous moment like this.

“I do want to share with them a moment like this because all they see is me getting skinny and having to go away [to film],” he said. “I want to make sure they know there are great moments to be shared as well. That is something I think they can understand.”

As for his husband, Bomer added, “I’m sure we’ll find a proper time to celebrate,” even though he’s in Los Angeles right now. [full article at abcnews]

It is one of the most fascinating young actors in Hollywood . Talk with Matt Bomer, who is 37 years old and in Magic Mike XXL steals the screen to Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello, is always interesting.

The elegant Matt, who had conquered the audience in The Normal Heart and is preparing to bring to the screen the life of Montgomery Clift in a biopic already much discussed, is married to publicist Simon Halls. They have adopted and are growing “with maximum happiness and commitment” three beautiful children,  six year twins and the eldest of eight.

In Hollywood puritanical and hypocritical politically correct, Matt did coming out with serene courage, years ago, without fear of losing roles as loving and manly characters.

“I have a beautiful family,” he says,  "A work that I built with dedication and commitment, I believe in the integrity of my work and my private. We live years of apparent freedom and rights won, but I am the first to admit that it is not easy to convince many of a relationship defined “different”.  Reject the lies, the compromises and limitations of the role.  The talent, the passion for acting, adherence to roles have nothing to do with foolish and gossip are far away, or so it seems, the years when Rock Hudson had to hide his true identity. “
