matabungkay

  • My relatives and I went to Matabungkay for my “last of summer” escapade. Mom is a huge fan of beaches, and our family has this thing with travelling at least twice a year. I’m really thankful that I have such a jet-setter family! I’m always excited with our travels, and soon my own solo travels.
  • Matabungkay is such a beautiful place. The resort may be old, but the beach is so damn beautiful I can’t even express how wonderful their sunset is.
  • I started reading and watching the news again, since I’m back to the reality of newspapers and articles (aka school and internship). I had a good amount of news detox for the whole summer—since mom thinks it stresses me a lot. Now, I’m back to business and I mean to do damn well this year.
  • I have also been reviewing the whole summer. It’s pretty stressful for me since I am not that talented with math, and I have to review it repeatedly so that I will remember it. I just hope I pass my dream school/s. That would be the greatest birthday and graduation gift ever.
  • I’ve also started reading the bible. I know, so late. But I guess there’s no due date, or perfect time, to learn to appreciate His words. ❥
  • I’ve started working at Summit Media for my 80-hour internship. It’s tiring, but it’s fulfilling, and I’m actually starting to learn how to dress up properly. Mom is going to be super proud of me, chos.
  • My boyfriend, Kristen, never fails to make me smile. I got home from work one day, when he suddenly popped out of nowhere and gave me such a sweet letter. I thank God every day for giving me such a wonderful boyfriend, and life partner heehee.

I used to love Summer because it’s the time of the year to relax and go to the beach. However, most of the popular beaches today are over crowded and most of them are already fully booked. For this reason, I prefer to schedule my vacation on off-peak season, usually between September to October.

There are still underrated resorts to visit here in the Philippines and I was able to visit one of them three weeks ago – the Matabungkay Beach Resort & Hotel.

Summer has to be fun and so is your outfit. Don’t be afraid to inject some bright colors in your wardrobe. If you’re bored with wearing tank tops, try sporting a button-down shirt and pair it with vibrant colored shorts.

Matabungkay Beach Resort & Hotel is located in Lian, Batangas and it is a 2 hour drive from Manila.

We left Trinoma at 2pm and arrived at Matabungkay Beach Resort at 5pm because of the heavy traffic in EDSA and Tagaytay.

We stayed in one of their Deluxe Suites (P6800/night for 2 persons + P800 for extra bed). The room has one dining table, two sofas, one television, one queen size bed, one mini refrigerator, one spacious cabinet and one comfort room.

And since Matabungkay is known for having one of the best sunsets in the Philippines, we didn’t miss the chance to catch it.

After enjoying the sunset, we headed over to the Matabungkay H2.0 pool party.

On our second night, we transferred at the new Beachside Villa, which can be occupied by ten persons. There are two bedrooms: one at the first floor and the other one is at the second floor. Each room has queen size bed, air conditioner and cabinet. But there is only one bathroom in the villa.

I love watching the sunset, but what makes it better is watching it with my girlfriend, Trice.

We had our dinner at the beach. They served a mouth-watering Bulalo.

We capped off our last night at Matabungkay with a bonfire, snacks and kwentuhan.
