My Korean Skin Care Haul

I finally updated my skin care! For anyone who’s interested in how I prep my skin.

First thing you need to know is my skin type, I’m prone to acne and I have mostly normal to oily skin. I get breakouts on my forehead, my nose, cheeks and my chin. All these breakouts, I hide with concealer, blemish creams and foundation.

To treat my skin and lessen breakouts, here are my favorite skin care products from different Korean brands.

1. Etude House AC Clinic White-Trouble Bubble Cleanser

First thing you need to do is wash your face. For oily skin, I recommend that you choose water based or gel based cleanser. Try to look for products that are mild and won’t irritate your sensitive skin so much.

What I’m loving these days are foam cleansers. They’re already in foam state which means, you no longer have to foam it on your face, hence, less stress on your skin.

Plus, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry and stretchy. It gives a feeling of fresh and dewy skin.

1.Wet your face with warm water to open up pores.

2.Wash your face with cleanser for 2 minutes.

3.Rinse it with cold water for 4 minutes.

4. Pat dry with towel/cotton shirt or you can pat dry your face with fingers and let the water be absorbed by skin.

2. Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner

Wonder Pore Freshner is my holy grail for toners. This is because it is still one of the best selling toners among Koreans.

First time I used it, it reduced my breakouts and the appearance of blackheads. It is quite pricey but, I assure you it’s all worth it.

1. Apply small amount of toner to cotton.

2. Move cotton in circular motions paying special attention to chin, nose and cheeks (or where you are prone to whiteheads and pimples).

3. Spray it on your face when you need a refreshing.

3. Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel

Aloe Vera Gel are new releases from your favorite Korean brand. I love this one from Nature Republic because it smells so good and it’s the cheapest among the brands.

I use this as a moisturizer and sort of a spot on gel to my pimples. It lessens the redness of my skin and calms it.

You can also use it for your hair and body!

4. Etude House Eye’s Cream

I use it mainly for my under eyes when I feel like my eyes are tired and before going to sleep. It’s a roll-on and its small so it’s very handy to bring.

5. Etude House AC Clinic Intense Pink Powder Water and Pink Powder Spot

I swear by these two products to remove my pimples. I use the water during the day and the powder spot before I go to sleep.

It dries us your pimples and lightens the spots. Its non-comedogenic meaning, you won’t get breakouts from your other breakouts. Like have you ever experienced a pimple growing beside your existing pimple because you irritated it? That won’t happen because it does not only heals pimples, it prevents them from spreading.

Well I’m happy it works on me. :)

6. Nature Republic Charcoal Mask

I use this once or twice a week, when I feel like I have so much gunk on face even after washing. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and clean.

This is the perfect mask if you are prone to whiteheads and blackheads or if you want your pores to tighten.

7. Face masks, patches and strips

And last but not the least, you need weekly or even daily pampering by using face masks. You can also try patches for your specific problems. Like if you have puffy eyes, use eye patches. If you have blackheads, you can use pore strips.

And that’s it! That sums up my skin care routine. I hope you learned something from this! And if you could recommend more Korean skin care products, I would love to hear about it!

I will be posting my Korean Make Up haul next. Stay posted! :)

My “Everything but the Kitchen Sink” Face Mask

My face hates the winter. I’m one of those odd people that actually break out more when its cold. So, every so often I try different masks to pull out any toxins and hydrate my skin. Also, If you click on each photo you can see the steps/ what I was adding at that time.

To make my wicked concoction I used the following products:

- Aztec Healing Clay (2 Tbl Sp)

-Apple Cider Vinegar

-Yogurt (6 Tbl Sp)

-Honey (2 Tbl Sp)

-EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1 Tbl Sp)

-Coffee (4 Tbl Sp)

The above “measurements” are super rough. I honestly threw everything into a bowl until it reached a creamy consistency and looked a lot like melted cookies n cream ice cream.

-Aztec Healing Clay is an all natural calcium bentonite powder that creates a polarized charge on your face, lifting toxins out of the skin and replacing them with healing minerals. It works against pimples, acne scars, large pores… and that’s just for your face. This clay is $11 for 1lb on amazon :)

-Apple Cider Vinegar is a cure all for acne. According to google it removes dirt, oil, makeup, dead skin; contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C and E- AND MUCH MORE.

-Yogurt works as a hydrant in this mask. The healing clay by itself (with water) is very drying and flakes a lot. So, yogurt was used to give the mask a smoother texture. Also, yogurt naturally hydrates the skin and has anti-bacterial properties that will work to destroy pimples. I used some old yogurt that I found in the back of the fridge.

-Honey & EVOO have the same basic properties of yogurt. Honey locks in moisture and has anti-bacterial properties. While EVOO is a super moisturizer.

-Coffee reduces under eye inflammation and redness. It’s also an excellent exfoliating agent and brightens up your complexion!

-Apply this mask before you get in the shower so you will be able to soften the mask enough to gently massage it off with your fingertips. DO NOT use a face rag or your face will be sad and red like a tomato. Learn from my mistakes :)

-Test the product on your hand before applying, just in case you’re allergic to any of the ingredients!

***Someone (Elizabuns) pointed out that I should have used a plastic spoon to make this face mask, great point! Thanks Elizabuns!!***

🌸 Things I love and recommend; skincare 🌸

1- egg white pore mask; skinfood 🌸
Works wonders on pores! Makes them so small and helps on days where my skin is oily. Not drying!! Comfortable and fun to wear, smells a bit like spf and suncreams tho. Good for all skin types!!

2- yes to cucumbers cleanser; yesto 🌸
Oh my god it smells amazing and so fresh, extremely gentle I use it day and night, cleared up my acne so well!! Favourite cleanser I’ve ever used! Good for all skin types!

3- glycolic fix night pads; nip+fab 🌸
Sound aggressive, they are pretty aggressive tbh. I use them every other night. Smell horrible a bit like a swimming pool but really really work. Evens out skin tone and keeps skin clear, also makes pores appear smaller, maybe wouldn’t recommend for sensitive skin.

Cosmetic Warrior smells like clay and garlic. It is definitely an offensive odor, and I am careful not to get it too close to my nostrils. Luckily, it’s not so strong that I can’t use the mask at all. The scent fades as it dries on skin and doesn’t stick around.

Cosmetic Warrior is a damp clay mask that smoothly glides onto dry skin. It fully hardens in 15 min in a dry climate. I enjoy this mask for my oily, acne-prone skin. CW has no exfoliation mixed in, making it surprisingly gentle, despite being effective. It soaks up excess oil and shrinks pimples without leaving skin feeling tight or dried. I would recommend this mask to those prone to ance blemishes. Removal is effortless, simply dampen the product and easily wipe away.

'The Mask' Review

The Mask is a great movie for many reasons. These are the reasons why. One, it is packed with action. Two, the movie is funny when he is wearing the mask. And finally, the movie’s dog. These are the three reasons for the Mask being the greatest comedy of all time!

First, Action. The Mask is packed with action. For instance, when the guns shoot at the Mask at the show. That is just one example, but there are many more! Would you like to know more? The Mask is packed with action.

Next, funny. This movie stars Jim Carrey from The Mask. The movie is slow when it starts so it is okay if your Dad sleeps during it and you shouldn’t try to wake him because it is slow in the beginning so it is okay if he is snoring. But once he puts on the mask the movie is funny! For instance, when he is Spanish dancing! Now that’s weird, but funny!

Last, the Mask is filled with fun and funny moments with the dog from the movie. The dog helps The Mask in the movie. Sometimes your Mom thinks the name of the dog is Max and your Dad thinks it is Spike and this is not a bad fight and they are happy to be together and you shouldn’t worry. The dog in the movie The Mask is funny!

In conclusion, the movie the Mask is great for three reasons. They are action packed, funny, and the dog is funny. The Mask is my favorite movie of all time, and these are the reasons why. I hope you think that The Mask is the greatest movie of all time, too! Do you?

Cup O’ Coffee face mask

To start off with, this mask has an extremely strong coffee smell. I literally felt like I had poured myself a cup of coffee when I opened the pot. I, personally, love the smell of coffee so this was a major plus for me. I love that this mask doesn’t have to be kept in the fridge and has a much longer shelf life than the refrigerated masks. This mask is very exfoliating because of the bits of coffee that are in it.

After leaving the mask on for ten minutes, I wet the mask with water and slowly scrubbed the mask off of my face. After completely cleaning my face off, my skin felt incredibly smooth and very clean. My skin did smell like coffee even after removing the mask for probably about an hour, which was a total plus in my book. All in all a wonderful mask that I would definitely buy again.

Lush Mask Of Magnaminty Review

The Promise:  This is a fresh face and body mask designed to fight breakouts and calm redness.

My Thoughts:  So this was a bit of a blind buy but I have to say it well and truly paid off!  This mask does exactly what it says on the tin, and more!  It smells amazing and applies like a dream.  This is one of those face masks you can really feel working while it’s on, with the gritty texture of the aduki beans it contains gently exfoliating as you apply it.  However, the real magic once you wash it off.  My skin immediately felt livened up and super soft, with raised spots and redness reduced in an instant.  I suffer from a lot of stubborn outbreaks as well as very sensitive skin, but since adding this in to my routine spots are way more manageable without my skin becoming dry and patchy.

A Beauty Must Have?  Absolutely!  At £5.50 for a 125g tub that will last forever, this is definitely a must have, especially for spot prone skin.

As promise I picked up on of the new glamglow mud to foam cleanser and I’m soo happy I did!! Just used this baby and it’s love!! So it starts out as this dark blue clay and then when you add water it foams up, and we are talking foaming enough to use my clairisonic with! It has a minty almost licorice scent and tingles when you use it. It left my face feeling refreshed, tight and bright! My pores have been concurred!!!
