martini & rossi

Before she was making towels for K-Mart, it looks like Jaclyn Smith was a spokesperson for all kinds of products, not the least of which was this appearance in a commercial for Martini & Rossi in 1979.

Why yes, Jaclyn, on a hot day like today I would love a cold vermouth on the rocks.

Porsche GT3RS in Martini Racing livery

The 991 in everyones favourite alcoholic beverage livery

You can spot pretty much any car around the Monaco area, it’s like catnip for supercars. This is the fourth 991 GT3RS I’ve seen but the first non standard paintwork.

It’s a popular livery that first started back in 1968. Martini & Rossi is a distillery that produces Martini vermouth in Turin, Italy that became famous from it’s 1971 win of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Porsche 917.

Porsche and Martini went on to win more races together including the Le Mans 24hrs. Martini went on to sponsor GT, rally and more recently F1 teams.

The question remains, “Any time, any place, anywhere” but would you put their branding on your car?

but it was a short lived cooperation, at the end of 1973 Count Rossi pulled out of the Tecno team, not satisfied with the way the team worked and in 1974 would start sponsoring the Brabham team
