Port Isaac is a small and picturesque fishing village on the Atlantic coast of north Cornwall. Since the 1980s the village has served as backdrop to the ITV series Doc Martin.
The show is set in the fictional seaside village of Portwenn and filmed on location in the village of Port Isaac. The eighth series is currently being shot in Port Isaac, to air in Autumn 2017, and an American TV remake of the series is also being planned.
On 11 January 2017, Martin Clunes confirmed that Doc Martin will end in 2018 with its ninth and final series
