For the curious, if you have trapped a single leg and you want to finish the takedown, the real key is to close the distance between your hips. If you have a single leg and your hips are in contact with the opponent’s hips, you will finish the takedown extremely easily. If the opponent knows what they are doing, they will push your hips away with 1 arm; what you have to do is explosively knock that arm away and suck in their body tight to your hips. If you can’t do that, just let the single leg go and try to turn it into a double leg or full body lock as they take a half step back to regain their balance. If you just hang out in the single leg position like in this situation, you are at risk of getting countered.
