We stood in silence for Briere; a split second decision and a tragic loss. #21.

We stood in resistance against bankruptcy; we almost lost it all.

We stood strong for Lemieux; we were the backbone.

We battled for Lemieux; cancer came knocking.

We cheered for Lemieux; fight won and captain returned.

We cried for Lemieux; a retirement no one saw coming.

We cheered for Lemieux when he returned; our leader back on ice.

We held our breath for Crosby; the next one.

We sheltered Evgeni Malkin; a piece of the core yet to be built.

We stood behind Fleury; and stood when he could not.

We hoisted The Cup with Crosby; our core now built and decided.

We stood behind Crosby; concussions, injuries, and lockouts.

We stood behind Crosby; the golden goal.

We lost our voices for Evgeni; who kept our team strong.

We stood behind Olli; offering a shoulder to lean on.

We cried for Super Duper, a powerful presence and piece of our family; ‘Pascal Dupuis would never again play hockey.’

We offered a family and love for Phil; 'Phil Kessel is a Stanley Cup Champion.

We made a comeback with Sullivan; and hoisted the cup again.

We stood behind Flower, protective and faithful.

We stand behind the team, the players, and other fans. We share the losses, heartbreak, injuries, and disappointments.
But more importantly, we share the wins, the happiness, players returns, and triumphs.

We are the fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins and we are proud.

Sidney Crosby worried about Cup, not legacy
Sidney Crosby looked up and listened intently to the start of the question, likely knowing full well what was about to come. What would it mean to you and your legacy to surpass Mario Lemieux by winning the Stanley Cup for the third time as the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins?

Based kinda on @kayytx and @brandnewfashion‘s Jack Football Au

  • Like, imagine if Coach Bittle is famous within the Football world like Bad Bob is within the Hockey world.
  • So at Samwell where Bitty plays Hockey and Jack plays Football it’s like “omg, your dad is Bad Bob/Coach Bittle omg”
  • Or maybe they don’t realise at first
  • Bitty’s always saying things like “Oh honey, my dad thinks you’re doing real great this season, etc”
  • And Jack’s like “Oh that’s nice” for agesssss
  • Then one day Suzanne and Coach are visiting Samwell and Bitty introduces them and Jack’s just “WAIT YOUR DAD WHO THINKS I CAN PLAY IS THE RICHARD BITTLE”
  • And the same happens with Bitty and Bad Bob like,
  • Jack’ll tell him “My dad watched your game” and “My uncle Mario is really impressed with your speed.”
  • And when Bitty visits Canada with Jack for Christmas and they go to his uncle Wayne’s party he finds out that “BAD BOB IS YOUR FATHER AND YOUR UNCLES ARE WAYNE FREAKING GRETZKY AND MARIO LEMIEUX?!?!?”
  • And yeah
  • Jack football and Bitty hockey
NHLers are human too, let's honor them for their battle off the ice part 2.

hi my name is sidney p'atrick crosby and i have short black hair that gets curly when it’s long and it used to be bleached orange and big brown eyes like a cow and a lot of people tell me i’m like the great one (AN: if u don’t know who that is get da hell out of here!) i’m not actually related to mario lemieux but i wish i was because he’s a major fucking hockey player. i’m a hockey player but my teeth are straight and white. i’m shaped like a fridge. i’m also a captain, and i play for a team called the penguins in pittsburgh. i’m 29 and in my 11th season. i’m a forward (in case you couldn’t tell) and i have to get all my jeans tailored back home. i was walking outside ppg paints arena. geno was there, which i was very happy about. a lot of flyers stared at me. i put up my middle finger at them.

Geno’s interview for Maxim (April 2017).

Big thanks to @atsomnambulist for the help with the translation! 😇

-You live in the United States ten months in a year. What do you miss most about Russia?

- It used to be difficult, my parents did not visit that much. And now I’m comfortable, all who are close and dear to me often visit Pittsburgh. I don’t worry about food, I’m not fussy. What I miss the most is the Russian banya (sauna). Whenever I arrive in Moscow, I immediately go to “Sanduny”. I like to hang out with friends, sometimes in nightclubs too. You get tired of a year of matches and flights across the America, so you need some time to relax.
