I learned something in Osteology the other day during lab/lecture. When a subject has a wisdom tooth that never erupted by the time they died, the tooth stays in there. Just kind of trapped in maxilla hanging out(or potentially the mandible as well, my case was a maxilla). With nothing to really keep it still and in place, it definitely rattles around in there at every movement as you try to take observations.
