Fagnus-Maquaire 1876 Patent revolver

Designed by Belgian gunsmith Alexandre Fagnus and produced in Liège for the French market, distributed by French industrial Amédée Maquaire, formerly a sewing machine manufacturer.
11x17mmR - the French 11mm73, double action, six round cylinder, loading gate and captive ejector rod.

Designed as a competitor for the Chamelot-Delvigne, the Fagnus revolver failed to secure a military contract in France - to the great dismay of Maquaire - but achieved great civilian success in various caliber - from 5mm rimfire to 12mm centerfire - up til the early 1900′s. It was also adopted as the Omdrejningspistol M 1880 by Denmark in .380 caliber.
