tell us about the haunted manison

The Haunted Mansion could do with a good power-washing and the   but it’s solidly intact and still operates as a ride during the part of the year the Kingdom is open to visitors.  An actual graveyard joins the attraction’s original faux graveyard, though there are few bodies interned in it, since the Kingdom practices composting and cremation.  As for the attractions’ graveyard, the Captain’s leaky gravestone no longer works, since water is a precious commodity, but the rest of the interactive gravestones work, even though they’re rarely on.

Some years before the war, the Leota gravestone was updated with AI that’s since evolved beyond the limitations of her original programming and the ability to speak.  Her name is Dear Sweet and she’s very nice and grandmotherly, if terribly lonely because she’s immobile and many of the other Mansion animatrons think they’re better than her because of that.  Sometimes the Tiki Room birds fly in and keep her company and she’s close friends with the groundskeeper.

Although many attractions are now the homes and workplaces of more fleshy denizens of the Kingdom when not in use as rides, the Haunted Mansion primarily serves as a storage area for broken animatrons as well as various supplies and a living space for the ride’s original robotics, who work various jobs around the park.  As well, most of the park’s small ghoul population (there aren’t many in the Orlando region at all since they avoided the worst of the bombing) live in the space as well, though there’s also a smaller ghoul colony that lives in a Tomorrowland giftshop.  They don’t necessarily get along very well; the Tomorrowland ghouls think the Haunted Mansion ghouls are playing into stereotypes.  The head groundskeeper for Liberty Square is a kindly old ghoul called Mortimer that lives in the Memento Mori giftshop and to be honest, becoming a walking Halloween attraction and getting to spend most of his time on his favorite ride was the highlight of his life, though the War itself was obviously not so much.

The Kingdom itself is ruled over by a Princesses, chosen at a young age from the direct descendants of the park’s princesses, but each individual land is governed by an elected delegate elected every five years and each ride has a leader chosen by its residents.  The Haunted Mansion has long been governed by the wise and gentle rule of the Hatbox Ghost (their actual name is Hats because robots are not always creative), though the Opera Singer has stepped in during Hats’ reign as governor.  Liberty Square (a district traditionally governed by animatrons) is currently governed by animatronic President Lincoln (who confusingly is named Washington), but one of the Brides (Disney went through a few different animatrons; this one is faceless, blue, and likes to project images onto herself) plans on disrupting his reign.  The animatrons of the Haunted Mansion and Hall of Presidents loathe each other, though the ghouls and humans that respectively live and work there share no animosity.

At night, the animatronic ghosts often roam the park, which has startled at least one visitor from the other parks who was not expecting that.  No one told Jack Grey about the robot-ghosts before he delivered some goods from EPCOT to the Magic Kingdom.
