What I Wore: Happy New Year’s

I love any reason to get dressed up and New Year’s is the perfect excuse. I spotted this pretty little lacy dress at Macy’s the day after Christmas. It was marked with a tag that read, “One of a kind. 50% off.” What a coincidence, those are two of my favorite things to hear when it comes to shopping for a special occasion dress! The good news is that this dress may have been “One of a kind” at the store I was in however, it is available online and it’s a steal at $38.99.

All in black

Hey everyone!

When I was in NYC last month I had the pleasure of meeting Beck of Manfattan. She was the one who took these photos, and she is seriously awesome. After we shot some street style around the tents we decided to have a romantic Mexican dinner across the street from Lincoln Center. It was awesome hearing about her amazing life, and we hit it off right away.

So yes, I admit this outfit was from a month ago, I just kept forgetting to post it! I got this blazer from forever 21, and if you know me (and my company) you probably know I have a sweet spot for black and white. ;) The necklace is vintage, pants are from forever 21, and the boots are old ModCloth.

I hope you have a great weekend!! I am working hard getting the two other dresses from Zaftig created! :) Cannot wait to show the final products to you!

What I Wore: Thanksgiving in Maine

Ahh, there is nothing like being in my hometown of Portland, Maine. I was so grateful to be able to head up there to celebrate Thanksgiving and this is what I wore!

For this ensemble I threw together a handful of my current favorites, all of which have a leather aspect. The dress is c/o Asos Curve and is a major must! The tartan and faux leather jacket is c/o MYNT 1792. I capped the outfit off with my new Torrid boots that I am sure you will be seeing a lot more of on my blog!

Until next time,

What I Wore: Forest Green

Everyone, meet my natural hair texture. It’s a crazy mess but it’s what I’m working with… so I’m into it. Anyway, today I donned these separates that I am equally in love with! This top, from Yours Clothing, is actually very long and I will definitely be wearing it as a dress with leggins very soon. This skirt is the perfect full-bodied piece that can either go casual or dressy. And together they are even better… in my opinion!

What I Wore: Evening via Instagram [@manfattan]

One of my best friends from my hometown, Maine, is visiting me in NYC.  We decided to hit the town.

I wore this striped Lane Bryant dress! Who says big girls can’t wear stripes anyway?! I paired it with some tights from Just My Size and blue suede wedges from Payless (Yay! for Payless carrying size 13).

I have received several questions lately about my height and measurements. I’m 6'3… so obviously this dress is a bit shorter on me than the average gal! I range from a size 22-26 depending on where I am shopping.

Thank you for all your feedback.

Until next time,

What I Wore: Instagram

2. Dress c/o Simply Be, Shoes - Payless.

3. Shirt - Forever 21, Skirt - Calvin Klein, Shoes - Lane Bryant.

What I Wore: Longline Vest

As most of you know, I’m a tall girl at 6'3, so when I see the word ‘long’ in the description of a clothing item it piques my interest! I was ecstatic to see that longline vests are a hot item this season and immediately fell in love with this one from MYNT 1792.

This vest is extremely versatile. It looks great open and layered over just about anything but I also love it zipped up and worn as a top!

The skirt was a bargain from Conway and the shoes were snagged from Nordstom RACK! The lipstick is from Illamasqua in the shade Growl.

Until next time,

What I Wore: Swing Dress

I am so excited about this Swing Dress c/o Asos! I have tried on a couple dresses in this style but none have fit just right until now. It drapes perfectly and I love the color block.

I’ve been searching for an all black simple winter jacket and was pumped to find this Calvin Klein bad boy at Burlington Coat Factory! The shoes are last season from Ashley Stewart.

The bumblebee necklace is c/o Boohoo and this amazing nail polish is from Ruffian which came in the Birchbox I received at LuckyFabb! Also, don’t mind the $ on my hand… I still write reminders on my hand like a little kid.

Until next time,

What I Wore: Shorts

I’m not really a shorts person, or a pants person, per se. However, when I bought these pajama shorts from Lane Bryant I had one dream: to wear them in real life, not just to bed. Haha. They are so gorgeous up close, the pink lace overlay is everything.

What I Wore: Peplum Obsession

I personally love any excuse to dress up! A trip to Rite Aid often means a pair of pumps and a red lip. So, when the Holiday season, and all its reasons to look glam, rolls around I’m in heaven!

Here’s what I’ll be wearing this Christmas Eve:

Vintage Shawl | Estée Lauder Lipstick in the shade Cherry Passion

Macy’s Dress | Ashley Stewart Tights

H&M Gloves | Ashley Stewart Booties

Fly Lady Shoes for Big Feet

Being a size 13 in women’s shoes, I’ve learned to get crafty when it comes to footwear and at this point I basically consider the men’s shoe department home. However, there is something amazing to be said for finding a women’s shoe source that actually makes my size! Keep reading for some of my favorite places to find women’s shoes up to a size 15.

Long Tall Sally - Barefoot Tess

Shoe sizes Long Tall Sally carries: 10-15

Barefoot Tess recently merged with Long Tall Sally to be the authority on all things tall girl! This retailer has one of the best size ranges for large women shoes, as well as offering wide width and wide calf boot options. I’m so happy to report that both of these Long Tall Sally boots turned out to be SO comfy, which is always a huge plus!

Leather Brogue Chelsea Boot

Barefoot Tess Preston - Long legs & need wide calf boots? Try these!

Lane Bryant

Shoe sizes Lane Bryant carries: 7W-12W

If you haven’t checked out Lane Bryant lately, now is the time! From holiday dresses to amazing jackets and even shoes, Lane Bryant has stepped their game up. Ladies who wear a size 13 shoe, head into a Lane Bryant and try on their 12W’s. Due to the fact that they are wide fit you may find luck, like I do with their 12’s.

Cara Leather City Heel Ankle Boot - On SALE right now. 50% off.

Embossed Metallic Flat - On SALE right now. 50% off.

Ashley Stewart

Shoe sizes Ashley Stewart carries: 8-12

Looking for fun shoes at a reasonable price? Check out Ashley Stewart! Again, this is one of those stores that if you wear a size 13 shoe you should try on their 12’s. As a general rule of thumb, I try on shoes one size smaller and one size larger with an open mind and am often surprised!

Faux Suede Stretch Wide Width Bootie - On SALE right now. Only $27.25.

Suede Cutout Wide Width Heel - On SALE right now. Only $24.75.

With tomorrow being cyber Monday, a lot of these bad boys will be significantly marked down. Keep an eye out!
