Etymology: from Late Latin mammothreptus, from Hellenistic Ancient Greek μαμμόθρεπτος (mammóthreptos, “brought up by one’s grandmother”), from μάμμη (mámmē, “grandmother”) + θρεπτός (threptós) verbal adjective from τρέφω (tréphō, “to bring up”).
