Nothing more satisfying then a full @zpalette !! Especially when it’s your favorite @makeupgeekcosmetics shadows. I know you need to purchase these shadows online but these are the best ‘drugstore’ shadows you’ll fine even with the conversion to AUD they are still so affordable and the quality of the shadows are comparable to high end shadows. #ausbloggers #ausbeautybabes #aussiebblogger #bbloggers #beautyblog #bbloggersau #instablog #instabeauty #instamakeup #makeup #makeupblog #makeupgeek #makeupgeekcosmetics #rebmakeup33 #shesinbeauty #shaaanxo #wakeupandmakeup #zpalette

Classic “Bombshell” Pictorial with Red Liner (using Makeup Geek products!)

Been meaning to try out red liner for awhile so when the MUG team contacted me about checking out some of their products, I leapt at the chance to try their gel liner in the shade called Poison.

Now this baby looks like a dark plum/rust brown in the jar but - trust me - it goes on the most gorgeous blood red.

And that sounds scary, but it’s actually a rather elegant color, and looks good on most skintones. In fact, some makeup artists in old Hollywood used to apply a hint of red around the eyes of actors and actresses to make the whites look whiter, so don’t be afraid if it.

I actually wore the eye look above to work one day. With nude lips of course. Think of it like any other colored liner. If you keep the shadows quite simple and neutral, you can pull it off.

  1. Base: Make Up Store CC foundation in Light
  2. Concealer: Lancome Correcteur Pro concealer
  3. Powder: Didn’t use any! I wanted to keep a sheen on the skin so the look wouldn’t be too severe
  4. VDL Festival Brow Pencil in Grey Brown
  5. Matte tan shadow: Make Up Geek Latte shadow
  6. Shimmery beige shadow: Make Up Geek Sweet Dreams pigment
  7. Black liquid liner: Lime Crime Uniliner in Quill
  8. Red gel liner: Make Up Geek Poison gel liner
  9. Mascara: Givenchy Phenomen'eyes in Black
  10. Blush/Bronzer: Guerlain Meteorites in 4 Doré - I wanted a healthy look so it wouldn’t be too goth
  11. Red lipstick: Candy Dolly lipstick in 3A (from a limited edition Snow White lip collection)

[Update] For those who asked how I drew in the flick, I just drew in a short one and used my fingernail to scrape it the rest of the way! That’s the only way to get that razor-sharp flick.

What do I think about MUG’s Poison?

DEFINITELY worth a look if you’re curious about red. It’s not a bright red so it won’t go tomato-ish on gold skins. It’s a true blood-color, so it works on everyone, although if you have very dark skin tone, it might not show up as dramatically.

Texture-wise, this thing is smooth and easy to apply. And boy does it last. I need to actually rub a bit in order for my Bioderma to break it down.

Highly-recommended for all drama queens!
