The key isn’t actually being confident, he repeats in his head in Lydia’s breathy voice. It’s faking the hell out of it and looking as sexy as possible while you do it. For omegas, it’s easy. There’s a natural charm to all of us that only takes seconds to engage, and barely takes practice.
Walk into the room, he chants in his head. Own it, and look people in the eyes. Find the best looking alpha, have them buy you a drink, and the rest is easy.
“Der-REK! You’ll neverrr guess who I found,” she hiccups and Derek looks up from his phone to see she has someone’s wrist in her hand. She yanks the wrist, and the person attached comes into view for Derek to see. “STILES!” She opens her mouth comically wide like she’s so pleased with herself. Stiles looks like he did not want to come over here, but drunk bride-to-be’s usually get what they want.
Or the one where Stiles and Derek get back together after breaking up a few years before.
Such an original idea! Competitive hilarity and super satisfying ending:
When Stiles was twenty-two, he had his heart broken when Derek chose his career over their relationship. A little over ten years later, they meet again on the set of a reality TV cooking competition. Derek wants a second chance, but Stiles isn’t really in a forgiving mood.
A faery rises up out of a crack in the sidewalk, a hollow-boned twist of silver skin and empty eyes, and Derek almost swallows his tongue in shock, coming to an abrupt halt in the middle of the street. It’s not unusual, exactly, for monsters to walk the streets with humans – Derek should know, since being a werewolf isn’t exactly considered human, and that’s exactly what Derek is – but it is unusual for them to sprout up like a weed with little regard for who sees them do it.
It’s also unusual for them to stare right at Derek, one arm stretched out in front of them impatiently, something green caged in the confines of their spindly fingers.
Derek watches the creature leave, slightly stunned, and then hesitantly reads the note.
See you soon, sourwolf.
I came out to have a good time and I’m feeling so attacked right now!!!:
anonymous asked: “Hi could you please write a fic where Stiles and Derek have been dating for a few months but Stiles won’t let Derek see him naked and Derek gets angry thinking Stiles isn’t as in love with him as he is With Stiles. So they have their first huge fight and Derek ends their relationship. It’s only later when Stiles turns up at his door Derek realizes that Stiles loves him but he was ashamed of the scars he had from an accident years earlier. Derek shows Stiles just how beautiful he is to him.”
Derek is sitting on his bed, knees pulled into his chest, a comforting mug of hot chocolate in his hands. Stiles would’ve told him he’s brooding if he were here, which Derek would then vehemently deny. A smile pulls at Derek’s lips, but then he remembers Stiles isn’t here to tell him he’s brooding, might not ever be again. His smile drops and he clutches the mug a little tighter.
Derek will always do what he thinks is necessary to keep Stiles safe. Stiles will always fight him on it. They’ll always come back together, even when it hurts, because it hurts more when they’re apart. This is what Stiles hopes for. This is what Derek has promised.
Despite Derek’s departure from Beacon Hills and his and Stiles’ break up, Stiles still calls him after his encounter with Donovan in search of love and comfort. When Derek wakes up in the middle of the night and finds out Stiles is in trouble he doesn’t hesitate to get in his car and drive back to Beacon Hills to help him.
