makers of mischief

Bad Moon

Addictions, insecurities, habits, and the unconscious side of the personality – May I present to you the negative aspects of the Moon in the signs:

Aries: the Firestarter; loud, bossy behavior looks for a battleground to defend against boredom and personal attacks on the ego; short-lived and short-tempered feelings and impulses cause emotional volatility and childish tantrums; addicted to action and anarchy.

Taurus: the Sensualist; resistant to force or change, the slothful temperament, with sedentary and stubborn feelings, is unable to forgive or see impartially; gluttonous appetite desires constant comfort resulting in snobbish and bratty behavior; addicted to indulgence and the familiar.

Gemini: the Busybody; feelings are imitated and analyzed, and prying curiosity looks for trouble and disorder to soothe inner restlessness; moody mischief maker with an inability to connect deeply due to extreme shallowness; addicted to questions and commotion.

Cancer: the Grudge; lack of boundaries and objectivity, and inability to let go of antique injuries leads to sulking, accusing, and doubting behaviors; clinging dependency and subtle manipulation stemming from fear of abandonment result in irrationality; addicted to the past and pity.

Leo: the Autocrat; haughty temperament vulnerable to rejection and criticism demands obedience and attention from others; excessively self-serving and inconsiderate, emotional displays and reactions are over-the-top and intended to draw a crowd; addicted to theatrics and threats.

Virgo: the Skeptic; feelings are sterilized with cold, critical judgement and stringent handling to avoid the spread of infectious mysticism and foolishness; suspended affections and harbored hatreds build and cause anxiety, hairsplitting and complaining; addicted to routine and practicality.

Libra: the Politician; preoccupied with unattainable perfection, the fear of being disliked or considered unfair or ugly force artificial reactions and passive aggressive behaviors; emotional indecisiveness and uncertainty results in multiple mood swings; addicted to idealism and partnerships.

Scorpio: the Sadist; vulnerability and unmentionable motivations are fanatically concealed in attempts to keep jealousy, bitterness, and a fear of betrayal secret; obsessively searches for ways to test strength through emotional manipulation and pain-inflicting challenges; addicted to payback and power.

Sagittarius: The Maniac; fugitive from restriction and monotony, runs wildly from the gravity of reality to the falsehoods of fiction; unequipped to handle sincerity and consistency which results in the inability to ground down and take things seriously; addicted to risk and popularity.

Capricorn: the Control Freak; inner core is guarded by rigid routines and restraint which hardens the view of self, forcing deep self-doubt and distrust of modernization; will attempt to unscrupulously manage and control the emotions; addicted to suspicion and structure.

Aquarius: The Nuclear Bomb; feelings are ignored and blocked by the brain until logic and equanimity spontaneously split from consciousness, resulting in a cataclysmic and unexpected release of emotions; thermonuclear implosion of immaturity that directly opposes civilized composure; addicted to absent-mindedness and analysis.

Pisces: the Masochistic Martyr; self-sabotage and suffering act as anesthesia to limit the experience of pain in hopes of numbing the senses and calming nerves; evasion and deception of self & others are used to avoid responsibility and reality; addicted to fantasy and escapism.

How did Fred and George figure out how to use the marauders map? “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good” isn’t exactly a phrase you just happen to say.
Imagine the twins staying up late poking at this pilfered piece of old parchment, wants out, trying to figure it out. What if the map really WAS enchanted to insult whomever reads it (with special anti-snivellus spells worked in of course).
The twins LOVE IT, they think it’s hysterical, the want more! So they start interacting with the map more and offering their own quips and insults (“Mssr. Padfoot sounds like a loser with bad hair” “MSSR PADFOOT’S HAIR IS LUXURIOUS AND BEAUTIFUL EXCUSE YOU.”) They start developing a report with the personalities inside the map.
The map decides they’re worthy of its secrets.

Fred and George get even more into the map, and into these four mysterious mischief makers who paved the way for them. Did they go to Hogwarts? What houses were they in? Did Prongs play quidditch or gobstones? Did Moony have a girlfriend? Did Wormtail prefer chocolate or licorice?
Fred and Geoege start making goddamn Marauders headcanons. They’re super into it- these four people are their heroes. They imagine a whole life for them and speculate endlessly.

Flash forward to the summer before their 7th year. They’ve long since passed the map to Harry, have sort of gotten over their obsession with the marauders, have bigger things to focus on. But then in the hallway, in passing, they hear Sirius fondly calling Remus “Moony” and hear Lupin laugh and call Sirius “Padfoot”.

For you, @drsallysparrow, several months late.

“Georgie,” Fred whispered, arching a brow and digging his elbow into his brother’s ribs as soon as they poured out of Filch’s office. “Have a look.”

“Well then,” George remarked, eyeing the worn piece of parchment in his twin’s hand. “A whole drawer of confiscated items and you thought the blank bit of parchment was probably best?” He reached for it, giving it a skeptical once-over. “For this I wasted a dungbomb?”

“A dungbomb at the inconvenience of Filch is never a dungbomb wasted,” Fred told him smartly. “Anyway, considering the drawer, there’s obviously more to it. Unlike you,” he added, nudging him. “Who possess nothing beneath your stunningly handsome facade.”

“A handsomeness that I wear better, by the way,” George assured his twin, not looking up. “Hm,” he murmured to himself. “If it were me, I would- ”

He stopped, frowning in thought.

“Oh good,” Fred said, fighting a yawn. “I was hoping you’d come to an abrupt stop.” He leaned against the wall, kicking one leg out to cross it over the other. “Frankly, if it weren’t for your unerring mystery, I’d have run off a long time ago.”

George raised his wand and tapped it against the parchment. “Revelio,” he muttered, and then watched as a series of words began to spread across the page.

No, it said. Don’t feel like it.

Loki

So you wanna know about Loki.

1) Loki does as he damn pleases and mischief pleases him. Don’t go thinking that you can control his chaos. Be prepared that sometimes you will be on the receiving end of his fun. It’s not personal it’s just chaotic.

2) Loki is not a bad deity. Chaos isn’t bad. It’s completely natural.

3) King of lies is a bit of an exaggeration. He manipulates the truth when people are too dumb to realize it on their own. He’s usually trying to make the Gods or people see their flaws and better themselves (like when he steals the golden apples).

4) Loki is a shape shifter. He can also be a she. He comes in many forms and to love him means loving any form he might take. You don’t like cross dressers or bisexuals then he’s not the deity for you.

5) While Marvel didn’t get everything right, Loki likes the attention it’s giving him and he can appear in MarvelLoki form (see #4).

6) Loki is very loyal. Even though he’s chaos he will be serious when it counts. You find yourself needing his help and he’ll have your back. No more trolls eating your livestock.

He’s funny, serious, powerful, loyal, and aware of the issues in the world. He tries to change things for the better. You have to be able to laugh when working with him. Sometimes he calls for a more serious attitude though.
Most importantly he is so worth knowing. Sure there are hard times where he’ll push you to better yourself and you won’t always understand his intentions but he hasn’t let me down and since I started worshiping him I’ve been less depressed and alone.

So that’s Loki. Uncle to Thor, Father to Hel, God to me.

Highly intelligent and resourceful, raccoons are one of the most widespread mammals in North America. They have adapted to live in forests, mountain areas, coastal marshes and even urban centers. In Native American legends, they are known as tricksters and mischief-makers. Their characteristic masks and dexterous paws make them seem cute and approachable, but never forget that they are wild animals. Photo by Gary Miller, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
