“Life is worth living again. Another day, life is worth living again.” the last piano note was strummed lightly as Justin pressed down on the key, the sound echoing around the marble room of the entrance hall where his grand piano was displayed in the middle.
It wasn’t often that Justin took time to settle at the large piano and just sing some songs while I watched. He usually left that for the studio room upstairs but today was different for some reason.
Today he actually offered to sing something to me on the piano instead of me begging him like it would usually go down. Without hesitation I agreed, excited to hear the sweet sound of my boyfriends amazingly graceful voice as he sung a melody besides me on the bench.
I smiled up at the handsome boy with love in my eyes, still so amazed and mesmerised by his talent and the fact that out of all the girls in the world, he picked me as the one he would give his love too.
“You’re so amazing Jay.” It came out as a small whisper in the large room, my eyes locked on his honey ones. A smile etched on his face as he leaned slightly inwards, ridding of the space between us both.
"I could and will say the same for you.“ His tongue darted out of his mouth, moistening his dry lips in a swift movement. “How did I get so lucky to pick up such an amazing girl?” The simple question had my heart fluttering in my chest.
“The same way I got lucky to be picked up by such a talented guy.” I responded.
Without any more thought in our actions, we both leant forward, connecting our lips together in a familiar kiss that always managed to send shivers and sparks throughout my entire being.
It started sweet and lovingly, his lips moulding with my own as they squirmed around with mine. The soft flesh of his lips leaving no corner unmarked. Sliding as close as the seat would allow me to over to Justin’s side, I just couldn’t seem to find the closeness I desired.
I could never be too close to Justin.
Finally being fed up with the feeling of distance between my boyfriends and my own bodies, I flicked my right leg up and swung it around his body until I was placed firmly in his lap - lips still fighting against each other.
Justin moaned at the proximity of my legs wrapped around him, always being turned on by any contact my body made with his.
His hand that had previously tangled itself in my hair was slowly sliding down my body until it settled on my hip, just next to my butt.
His fingers tapped at my hip, teasing me as the once sweet kiss quickly turned to one of hunger and lust. Goosebumps trailed from the area Justin’s fingers tapped at all the way to my core, setting me off as my moan vibrated throughout Justin’s mouth, he knew what was to come next.
Hesitantly, his lips left mine and began trailing down to the skin on my collar bone, deciding that it was time to give my neck some attention. His mouth worked magics on my neck, biting and nipping at my sweet spot which Justin knew all too well. My head threw back in pleasurable desire, allowing him all the access he wanted to the sensitive area.
Justin’s hands once again began to travel my body, his hands exploring every imperfection of it, and somehow making all my insecurities flutter away. Squirming down to my hip, his hand squeezed the flesh harshly before trailing further until it found its place at the waistband of my Nike shorts.
He teased the area, playing around with the fabric, pulling on it to force the impression that he was going to remove them from my body before releasing it, causing it to slap back onto my skin.
I moaned in aggravation against him, finally becoming impatient as his lustful side began to surface. The cocky, teasingly sexy side to the pop star. The one that everyone desired to get a taste at but couldn’t, since that was for my eyes and my eyes only.
"Stop teasing.“ I grunted through the pleasure his lips created, wanting nothing more then to just feel every part of his skin. His smirk recked against my neck in pride of the sexual frustration he brang me, knowing he could get me begging on my knees if he wanted to. For him, I would do anything for his attention, and he loved it.
“Patience, princess.” He rasped, his voice sending heat waves through my core, just begging for his touch. Slowly, his fingers inched down to the most sensitive part of my body. Fingers slipping under the waistband of my shorts and through my underwear until he was met with my heated womanhood.
His touch sent pins and needles to the surface of my clit, his finger rubbing circles roughly causing my mouth to part and small pants to escape my lips. The smirk which rest on his face revealed just how much he really enjoyed watching me practically melt under his touch, all until he suddenly ripped his hand out of my shorts, bringing his finger up to his mouth. “You taste so good baby girl.” He growled into my ear.
An uncontrolled moan rolled off my lips at the raspiness of his voice and without warning, Justin placed his hands on my hips and lifted me off his lap, harshly placing me down on the keys of his grand white piano. As my weight hit the keys, the sound of the cords echoing around the entrance hall made me jump, creating a not so pleasant, out of range tune.
Justin chuckled at my reaction, standing up from the piano bench until he was aligned with my body, then quickly jerked my pants down my leg pulling my underwear along with it. Knowing exactly what was to come next, I lifted my arms to which Justin responded by tugging my shirt over my head, discarding both items of clothing in a pile on the floor.
As I reached behind me to unclasp my lace bra, Justin took the time I was occupied to pull off his shirt and pants and quickly ran to the bathroom on the ground floor, only to return with a condom.
Using his teeth to rip the packet open, he hurriedly pulled out the rubber item inside and began fumbling to remove his underwear. As his fingers played with the hem of his Calvins, I snatched the condom out of his grasp and waited impatiently for him to reveal himself to me.
Once he was standing fully nude, I quickly moved my hands forward to roll the condom on his large member, letting my hand linger an extra few seconds just to get his boner - which was already rock hard - going.
Soon, Justin’s whimpers began filling the echo-y room as my hands ran up and down his dick, begining slow before gradually picking up the speed. Once I felt Justins cock twitch in my hand and his eyes roll back, followed by his head, I was quick to stop pumping, and lift myself up slightly.
Justin groaned in frustration, more then likely getting the impression that I had stopped pumping just to tease him, but it was far from that. And as I pulled him forward, using my hand to align his dick up to my opening, I think he finally realised that.
His dark, lust filled eyes flickered up to mine for only a split second, before he suddenly took control, gripping my hips tightly before pounding into my tight heat. The strength and force in his action had me seeing stars, eyes rolling back in slight pain but mass pleasure.
“Justin.” I groaned in a breath. It almost came off as a whisper, and Justin liked loud.
“Louder baby, daddy can’t hear you.” He grunted, steadying a pace as he pounded into me.
“Justin!” I moaned just above an indoor voice. Justin bent over, placing his lips on mine for a quick peck, before slowly trailing down my jaw then landing on my neck, his teeth biting and nipping at the skin. My mind went into overdrive at the sensation, Justin smirking because he knew how sexy I found it when he left love bites.
“One more time babygirl, I’m finding it hard to hear you over the sound of your wetness.”
Once more I opened my mouth, a small squeal escaping as Justin nipped the spot just above my breast, before a loud “Justin baby, Oh God!!” rolled off my tongue, a smirk playing on his lips.
“That’s right beautiful, you make sure you tell everyone who’s fucking you senseless right now.” His tone, raspy and amused, was enough to push my one step further, with my orgasm just around the corner, I couldn’t take it. Especially when Justin made the bold move of placing a finger on my clit, where he then began rubbing circles.
“Ugh, God baby your so tight. You make me feel so fucking good.” He growled.
Looking up towards his face, I couldn’t help but bite my lip at the sight. Justins hair was flipped slightly over his forehead from looking down on me as his eyes squeezed shut tightly. The light reflecting a small layer of sweat against his face, showing how hard he really was into making me feel good.
“Fuck your so hot Baby boy.” After saying this, I quickly sat up, grabbing a hold of Justin where I then wrapped my arms around his torso, digging my nails into his back as he continued.
“I-I Can’t hold it i-in anymore princess. I’m gonna cum.” He moaned in a strained voice. I smiled, loving the effect we had on each other.
“Cum for me Jay. C’mon baby.” I urged.
After a few more strides, I began to feel his thrusts becoming sloppy as he moaned. His dick throbbing a few more times before finally, the warm liquid filled the condom, leaving me to only begin riding off my orgasm.
Justin being Justin, knew I had only began to reach my high and although he had just came himself, he continued to thrust in and out of me, until I couldn’t hold back anymore and made quick to remove Justin from inside of me. Justin quickly moved his arm forward and began rubbing my clit as the liquid from my ejaculation escaped my womanhood, creating a small puddle of arousal on the floor.
You know he fucked you good when you squirt.
Once my high had dropped, Justin and I where left a panting mess in each other’s arms. His hand still lay on my clit, a smirk on his face as he leaned down to kiss my forehead. “That was amazing sweetheart.”
“Gotta be on the top ten list.” I muttered, causing a chuckle to escape his throat. Justin stepped back, allowing me space to jump off the keys of the piano and bent down to pick up my shirt.
Justin did the same, snatching my bra off the ground and handed it to me.
After fastening my bra, slipping on my underwear and shorts, it was just before I had slipped my shirt over my head when the front door suddenly slid open, Za, Khalil, Maejor, Kendall and Hailey all standing on the other side.
“Guess who’s just arrived and is hungry as shit! It’s Za bitches, your lifes just got bette- Holy shit!”
Justin and I’s heads shot over to look at the intruders, quickly scurrying to tug on the remainder of our missing clothes. With my arousal still on the floor, Justin’s condom tied in a knot placed on the piano and our attempt to hide our revealed body parts with discarded clothes, it was more then obvious what had just gone down here.
“Seriously guys?” Kendall groaned.
“What do you mean seriously?! You didn’t tell us y’all were coming over, and last time we checked, this was our house! We usually have privacy in here.” Justin stated.
“Yeah but like…On the piano? Really?” Haileys face twisted in slight distraught.
“Y’all just jealous.” I smirked, walking to the kitchen to roll up same paper towels.
“Damn Y/n! I didn’t know you were a squirter!” Za yelled as I re-entered the room to clean the mess on the floor.
“Ew Za…Just ew.” Hailey mumbled, shaking her head.
“You know what, we’ll be in the theatre room. You all can join us once your done cleaning up the result of your fuck fest.” Khalil chuckled. They all nodded, all sliding past us and up the stairs, all except for Za, who had gone the opposite direction into the kitchen only to return with a packet of cheetos and a coke can.
Sending us a nod with a mouthful of cheetos, the spastic boy jumped up the stairs, skipping every other step. Once there was no more best friends to be seen, Justin and I looked back at each other both sighing before allowing small giggled to escape our lips. Justin slid forward, wrapping an arm around my waist and pulled me into a slightly sloppy kiss.
Savouring every moment, I couldn’t help but feel slightly disappointed when he pulled away.
“Our friends are mentally challenged.” I giggled. Justin chuckled along to my offensive joke.
“I think we need a new address, so they don’t know where to find us and barge in on our sex life again.” Justin sighed.
“Stuff a new address, how about new friends?” I smiled.
“WE HEARD THAT!” Kendall shouted from upstairs.
Justin and I chuckled before reconnecting our lips one last time.

“That’s a really stupid idea, man.” you smirked, throwing yourself down on the seat across from him.
“Ever heard of knocking?” Lin asked without turning to look at you. He’d become immune to your smartass comments and your intruding – you lived in the same house but somehow, he considered it intruding.
“I live here, Lin. I don’t knock.”
“Clearly.” he replied, eyes still glued to his work.
“Look who’s being the smartass now, Miranda.”
“Oh, bringing out the last name? I’m hurt.”
You laughed, leaving him to get back to his work. The only reason you hadn’t left his office was because you loved watching him work: he got so immersed in his work, almost like he was in a different world. He hadn’t bothered to question what you thought was a stupid idea. He probably didn’t care, you weren’t exactly great at lying to him. Though, Jasmine would probably argue that you were great at lying to Lin.
Nearly everyone knew about the crush you had on him. Everyone except him. For years you had been enduring the jokes about it, and for a long time you’d been subtly kicking people under the table, but mostly Anthony. Anthony found the fact that you’d lived with Lin for years, been in love with him for most of those years and he still didn’t know was hilarious. He made a point of making a least one joke about it every time he saw you. Slowly, you’d realised that boys really don’t make any sense.
Lin held everything in your life together. From bringing you coffee during finals week in college to proofreading every stupid draft you’d ever written, he was there. From you making him sleep after two days without any to you dragging the founding fathers with him, you’d been there. Through everything the two of you had been there. There in the place you called home. Despite how messy your apartment was – piles of paper drafts, pens scattered everywhere and the vastly ignored chore chart – it was home. Over the years you’d known Lin, you’d come to realise that home was wherever he was.
February 23rd 2000
“Hey, uh, are you okay?”
For hours you’d been sitting in the library, scribbling in a notebook, attempting to draft papers that you had due. You’d been skipping between two of them. By this point your handwriting was so smudged and rushed that even you could barely read it, after years of having to translate the mess to other people. It had been a while since you stopped counting how many people told you that you really needed to sort your handwriting out. You could read it, that was enough. But tonight, you were just too tired.
The guy across from you was looking at you now. He must’ve thought you were deranged; eye bags that were almost black rather than purple, hands in your hair and crumpled up balls of paper surrounding you. Looking up from your drafts you took in his appearance. He looked almost as stressed as you did. You smiled.
“Yeah. Sorry if I look a bit weird, I have papers I need to write and, honestly, it’s not going so well,” you replied. He laughed, getting a glare from the librarian. You almost resented her for the glare. His laugh was brilliant, almost like a child’s. It was happy and made everything feel a little less stressful.
“I feel you. I’ve been in here all day, I even fell asleep earlier.” you laughed as he continued, “I’m really shocked Ms G hasn’t kicked me out yet. Oh, I’m Lin, by the way. Not that you needed to know, but I thought maybe knowing my name would make me seem like less of some random weirdo annoying you while you’re trying to study-”
“Do you always talk this much or is it a weird stage of sleep deprived?” you joked, smirking as he caught onto his rambling. “I’m Y/N.”
“Nice to meet you, Y/N.” he smiled.
March 9th 2008
“You did it!” you grinned, throwing your arms around Lin as he came backstage. He laughed, picking you up and spinning you.
“Ugh, get a room.” Karen moaned, watching as he set you back down. You knew she was joking, just one of the many to catch on to your crush on Lin and poke fun at it. As you hugged her you could see Lin making faces behind her. You tried not to laugh, Karen noticed and whipped her head around.
“Something funny, Miranda?”
He was still making a face when she spoke to him. You watched as his face dropped, realising the situation he’d just landed himself in. Karen and Lin were like siblings, and Karen was definitely the stone cold big sister, even though she had a heart of gold.
“No?” he answered, though it sounded more like a question. Karen smirked.
“The shit I put up with,” she mumbled, walking off and leaving you and Lin alone.
The two of you laughed.
You were so proud of Lin. In The Heights was on Broadway; his show was on Broadway, the show he’d been working on for years had finally taken off. Looking at him, you realised that he was no longer the kid across the table from you in the library. The kid that had taken the time to check if you were okay, then rambled for what felt like forever. He was different now, but he was still Lin, still your best friend.
He wrapped his arms around you again. You pressed your head to his chest, listening to his steady heart as you hoped that he couldn’t hear yours racing.
In those few minutes you spent in his arms you began to wonder if this was the end of an era. Was this the end of three a.m. coffee runs? Was this the end of pissing off the neighbours with playing the piano at ridiculous times of the night? Was this the end of the life you’d become accustomed to? But you kept listening to the beat of his heart and little by little, you realised it wasn’t the end of anything. Lin was still Lin, and that meant coffee at three a.m. and playing the piano ridiculously late at night.
“I did it, Y/N,” he whispered.
“You did it, Lin-Manuel Miranda. You did it.”
June 29th 2013
“Burr always held back, he never pushed forward with his ambition.”
“Are you psychoanalyzing Aaron Burr?”
Lin grinned sheepishly, turning around to look at you. He was sat at his piano, attempting to meet Hamilton deadlines and mumbling about the founding fathers to himself.
When Lin had decided his next project was going to be a musical about Alexander Hamilton you hadn’t been surprised. You had said: ‘Stupid ideas are usually your best ones, run with it’. Four years later, you had been proved right. Hamilton was one of the best ideas he’d ever had. He frantically tried to meet deadlines and you brought home coffee and books about U.S. history.
“Why am I not surprised,” you mumbled. “You have a point though, dude was pretty messed up. I mean, he ran for president and had like, zero campaign.”
Lin laughed, picking up his notebook. Usually he’d scribble down the sessions in which the two of you would bitch about the founding fathers. Once, you’d asked him why and his only response was a shrug and an incoherent mumble. Sometimes he’d play drafts for you and you’d hear some of lyrics, that really just sounded like five year olds arguing, and you just knew that those were the ones derived from the two of you moaning about how stupid Alexander was sometimes.
“That he did.” Lin laughed, still writing in the tattered old notebook.
“Need more coffee?” you asked. It had been hours since either of you had brought some home. For the past week whenever coffee was needed someone, usually you, had to go out and buy some. All because Lin was too lazy to buy more after he had finished the coffee in the house.
“Yeah, please. Do you think you could get it? I kinda got something going,” he motioned towards his notebook and piano. You nodded, grabbing your bag and you shoes. He waved as you left, locking the door behind you.
Stepping into the cold air you sighed. Maybe you should’ve listened to Karen all those years ago, back when In The Heights was still in rehearsals and she had asked you what was really the worst that could happen if you told him. But here you were, thirteen years into a friendship with him and still hopelessly in love with the guy.
April 7th 2015
“Y/N, your eyes literally turn into hearts every time you see him. Cartoon style.” Daveed laughed. Renee and Pippa smiling as they warmed up.
“Fuck all of you guys.” you groaned.
“Who are we fucking?” Anthony interjected, suddenly appearing in the room.
“At this rate, not you.” you shot at him. As he placed a hand on his heart, faking hurt you couldn’t help but dissolve into laughter.
Ever since you’d actually admitted to the Hamilton cast that you were ridiculously head over heels for Lin, you hadn’t heard the end of it. They’d all known for ages that you liked him, and had been cracking jokes about it since you met them, but now that you were no longer denying it; it was even worse.
Daveed was still looking at you with 'heart eyes’ and his tongue out. You rolled your eyes and turned away from him, still hearing the laughter behind you. Leaving the room, you went to find Lin.
After looking for a while and being unable to find him, you sent him a text letting him know that you were leaving – as much as you loved the cast and everyone else, you had your own job to attend to. Plus, hanging around the Public all day made you bored. Whenever Lin wasn’t there you just felt like there wasn’t a point in being there.
Arriving at your work, you hung up your jacket and started up a conversation with Ella, the girl you worked with most days.
“For April, it is surprisingly hot out there,” you spoke.
“And yet you were still wearing your jacket.” Ella replied smoothly, as though she’d been waiting to say it to you. You smiled at her.
“It’s me, Ella. Did you expect anything less?” She laughed, handing you her jacket.
“Could you hang that up for me please? So that your coat isn’t lonely.”
“I swear, this is bullying,” you mumbled.
Your day went by quickly, the small bookstore you worked in was fairly busy and even after a seven hour shift it still felt like you had more hours left.
Walking home in the dark wasn’t so bad. You’d grown used to it, even learning to enjoy the solitude and the freedom to think by yourself for a while. Eventually, your thoughts led you back to Lin. You hadn’t seen him all day and the effect was setting in. You weren’t smiley or chatty. You just wanted to be home, to be in the same room as him for a little while. Just the two of you; no castmates joking about your impending doom and no stress of acting like the feelings weren’t there.
Just you and Lin. That was all you needed.
August 6th 2015
“You did it! Again!” you grinned as Lin came backstage. It had been just over seven years since the last time you’d done this. Since the last time he’d picked you up and spun you around. The two of you spent a few minutes in the embrace, unwilling to let each other go.
“It’s been seven years since I last heard you say that,” he smiled.
“I can tell you right now that that’s a lie, but, I’ve been waiting all this time to say it like that again.” you laughed, finally tearing yourself from his arms.
“God, get a room,” Daveed groaned. You and Lin looked at each other and burst out laughing. Everyone except Chris was staring at the two of you, unable to understand the laughter. When you stopped laughing you figured you owed Daveed an explanation, but didn’t bother. Instead, Chris filled everyone in.
“Karen said that exact same thing on Heights opening night.”
“Wow, even in 2008 you guys were all over each other,” Anthony smirked.
Eventually everyone retreated back to their dressing rooms. You and Lin walked to his in silence. Once inside, he pulled you into another hug. This time, his heart was racing and you could hear it. You had hoped not to cry again that night but you were.
Everything Lin did amazed you. His talent and his ambition and his ability to make your heart jump with one look. It had been seven long years of stress and tears and crumpled up drafts but here the two of you were again. At the Broadway opening of Hamilton. You smiled into his chest as you made an attempt to dry your tears.
“Sometimes, I swear you’re the only reason I ever get anything done.” he whispered, just loud enough for you to hear.
The tears started again.
March 19th 2016
This was it. This was sixteen long years of friendship about to be changed, no matter his reaction. You looked at him before speaking. There was the rambling kid from college who sat across from you in the library, there was the man who has held you close on the biggest night of his life, there was the guy who made fun of historical U.S. politicians with you, there was the best friend who somehow disappeared into the Public, there was the Lin who had cried with you in his dressing room, there was the person you were in love with.
Admittedly, the years hadn’t been all smiles. But regardless, they’d been the best sixteen years of your life. You had become someone so amazing that fourteen year old you would’ve been shocked. Lin had become someone so brilliant that twenty year old you wouldn’t have been able to understand. The two of you had become so astounding.
“I’m in love with you.” you blurted, surprising yourself. Before Lin could reply you kept going.
“I’ve been in love with you since you proofread my paper and all you could say was: 'You’re gonna be even more amazing someday’. I’ve spent sixteen years watching girls come and go, scaring them off when you couldn’t get rid of them yourself. Spent those sixteen years wishing it was me. I loved you when you hugged me backstage after Heights’ opening and all I could hear was your heart beating and wondering how you were so calm. I loved you when you were analysing Aaron Burr at four in the morning. I loved you when you spent an hour in my bookshop pretending to be looking at things just to spend your break with me. I loved you when you held me tight and told me I was the only reason you ever get anything done. And I love you right now, looking at you and wondering where the clumsy college kid went but knowing he turned into you and I couldn’t be more proud. I love you Lin-Manuel Miranda and for the first time in sixteen years I can’t bite my tongue about it anymore.”
Before you knew it, Lin’s lips were on yours. The kiss was short, but in the short amount of time sixteen years had spilled onto your lips.
“I have loved you since you looked at me with the brightest eyes and asked if I really meant it when I said you were brilliant, Y/N Y/L/N.”
Suddenly, sixteen years seemed like just the beginning.
Peter choked on his milk, the dark chocolate liquid escaping the sides of his mouth as you jumped and patted his back.
“W-What?” His eyebrow twitched. “What are you talking about Y/N? Of course I’m not Spiderman.”
“Just a question,” You shrugged, returning to your lunch. Peter continued to stare so you rolled your eyes and relented.
“I’ve been asking everyone all day just for fun,” You grinned, chuckling softly. “And so far your reaction has been the best.” You cocked an eyebrow, leaning into his personal space and smiling mischievously. “Unless…you really are Spiderman?”
Peter rolled his eyes and shoved you away by your shoulder while you laughed. “Oh shut up, Y/N.”
When you weren’t looking Peter turned away slightly and clutched his chest with a hilarious look of relief. So you had been joking. Thank God.
A hand clasped down on Peter’s shoulder from behind just after his spider senses tingled.
Peter jumped and spun around so fast it was a blur. You collapsed into gasping laughter, shaking your head.
“You look like you were caught on a prank show or something!!” You accused while trying to get a hold of yourself. You cleared your throat and looked dead forward and spoke with a husky tone. “And Peter Parker has just been pranked! Join us next week Monday at our special - celebrity pranks!”
Peter snorted at your attempt at a male spokesperson while you wiggled your eyebrows and walked forward.
“That was horrible,” Peter exaggerated, walking along side with you. Then he stopped and looked you in the eyes. “But seriously, you should stop calling me that. People might get the wrong idea.”
You blinked then scoffed. “Right. No one would think that. Like you could be Spiderman.”
Peter paused, a little offended and hurt. “What? You think I couldn’t be?”
Confused at his tone, you looked at him to see his put off expression.
“Oh!” You said in realization at what he thought you meant. “No, no I didn’t mean it like that.” At Peter’s expectant look you continued. “It’s just that if you were Spiderman, there’s no way you wouldn’t have told me. I mean we are best friends.”
You jabbed him in the shoulder, too busy laughing to see the flicker of guilt that passed on his face.
He bit his lip then chuckled when you brought your eyes to meet his again, ruffling your hair. “W-well you’ve got me there.”
Over the next couple of days you couldn’t figure out what was wrong with Peter.
He wouldn’t even speak to you that much in class anymore, staring out the window dazedly. Everywhere he went he was unnaturally silent, looking as if he were in deep contemplation.
He was avoiding you, no matter the excuses he made you knew he was lying. You could always tell.
You thought about this as you walked on the sidewalk from your friend’s house, coming to the conclusion that you would straight out ask him why he was avoiding you the next time you saw him. You would take no crap.
“You know, you can talk to me if something’s bothering you,” You practiced out loud, making a sympathetic face. Then you exhaled and slumped, steadily walking again. “Too subtle,” You mumbled, lifting your head to stare at the bright moon illuminating the star filled night.
“So…are you okay?…” You fiddled with your fingers then face-palmed. “Ugh no.”
You breathed in deeply then stopped, planting your right foot into the ground slightly in front your left and pointing forward dramatically. “What’s wrong with you?!”
"That one was just a tad bit forward,” A voice came from right behind you and you squeaked, turning around with your fists raised in a defensive position.
“Whoa, whoa,” The figure donned in red dropped from the light-post he had been hanging down from. He raised his hands in surrender. “Just giving my advice.”
You eyed Spiderman cautiously, lowering your fists and shifting uncertainly. “Well thank you uh…Spiderman.”
On the inside you were actually chaining your inner fangirl to the floor. THE REAL SPIDERMAN WAS TALKING TO YOU!! DNDKSNWNELDJGHTVEN!!!
“No problem, just doing my patrol,” He shrugged. You raised an eyebrow, knowing he just lied but ignored it. “What’s a young girl like yourself doing all alone at this time of night?”
You glared a bit, shifting your stance and crossing your arms below your chest. “I can take care of myself thank you very much.”
You must have been hearing things as you thought you heard him snicker fondly under his breath.
For some reason the action reminded you of Peter and you were reminded of your predicament.
“Well then I bid you adieu,” Spiderman saluted playfully to you.
He was about to leave when you stopped him, an arm shooting out and grabbing his arm. You furrowed your eyebrows and fidgeted. Spiderman was a guy right…?
“Yes?” Spiderman asked slowly and you realized you still had custody of his arm. You retreated your hand hastily.
“Hey…I know you don’t know me and all but can I ask you something?” You stuttered, clearing your throat. “I need a little more advice on something that’s been bothering me.” Spiderman chuckled and stepped closer to you.
“Sure,” He said and for some reason you imagined a smirk behind his mask. “But first you have to give me a little favor.”
“Wha-” You started but before you knew it his arm was wrapping around your waist and you were flying through the air.
The next second you were screaming, eyes clenched shut and your arms clinging to him like your life depended on it - well it kinda did.
The feeling of your stomach dropping to the floor like in a roller coaster was similar to what you were feeling now, only now was much worse. There was no safe chair to be bolted in and the reassurance of tested technology. Instead it was just your body being flown and jerked over 100 feet in the air, Spiderman swinging from building to building.
“Hey, hey!” You could barely hear his voice over your shrieking but when you did it sounded reassuring and a bit hyped with energy. “Open your eyes!”
“Are you crazy?!” Your brain managed to form thought, and as he took another sudden drop you cringed. You felt unbelievably scared and your throat was growing hoarse, your heart pounding in your ears.
“It’s okay,” His voice was softer this time, closer to your ear and his hand wrapping tighter around your waist. If you weren’t currently fearful for your life you would slap the stranger for touching you so intimately. “I won’t let you fall. Just open your eyes.”
For some reason his words sounded genuine and flooded you with a sense of familiar trust. You reluctantly opened your eyes only to squint at the air rushing past you and hitting your face. The streets were far below you as he swung from the tallest buildings, the area lit up with the colorful artificial light from lampposts and restaurants.
The moon was shining brightly in the sky above, so full and so close you felt like you could touch it with your fingertips. Spiderman dived again and your heart jarred once more but you were getting used to it, the adrenaline pouring through your system making the world so much more clear. Your eyes widened as you realized what you were experiencing.
Spiderman looked slightly back at you only to hear you scream - but this time in delight.
“Enjoying yourself?” He chuckled. The sense of panic still lingered but now you were laughing, your grip on him loosening. You grinned, even daring to let loose one arm and leave it trailing through the air.
Spiderman seemed to bask in your glee and took another brave lunge towards the ground before swinging up just in time for you two not to go splat. You laughed loudly, clinging to him and letting your h/l hair flow behind you.
“Can you see your house from here?!” He asked over the wind and you paused to actually look. You nodded, pointing to your home in the close distance.
“Over there!” You said.
“Alright, hold on!” He shouted, glee overtaking his voice. “WOOHOO!”
If there were any citizens walking in the streets that night, all they would hear would be the delighted screams of a girl and the cheers of a male, their voices echoing together as they swung among-st the rooftops.
You wheezed as Spiderman let you off at your front door, face flushed and the feeling of the ground beneath your feet strange.
Phantom sensations of your stomach plummeting and the air stinging your skin still crawled over you and you couldn’t suppress the grin that lifted your lips.
“That was…that was…” You started breathlessly, staring at Spiderman who didn’t looked to be ruffled in the least.
“Amazing? Crazy? Awesome?” He asked smugly.
“…wow,” You finished lamely. He laughed and shook his head.
“Of course you would say that,” He smiled to himself. Before you could question him he continued. “What did you want to ask me now?”
“Well you see..there’s this guy,” You started, tucking your hair behind your ear.
Behind the mask Peter’s smile dropped.
“A…guy?” He asked, trying not to sound jealous.
Your eyebrows shot up. “Oh not like that! Well…a little like that but that’s not the point.” You had to admit to yourself that you had a crush on Peter. A severe one actually but this guy didn’t need to know that.
For a second you paused and wondered why you were confiding in a complete stranger before shrugging it off. He did fly you over the city and take you home. Least you could do was trust him.
“He’s been acting a little weird recently and kinda ignoring me. Plus I kinda like him and that just makes it worse,” You rubbed your arm. “Sorry to ask but you ARE a guy…what do you think I should do?”
Spiderman stared at you for a while - well you assumed he was staring as he didn’t move for a bit - before answering you.
“Well to me this guy sounds like a complete douchebag,” He started. “But if you’re close with him you shouldn’t be scared to ask him what’s wrong. I’m sure he’ll understand and might not even know you had felt that way.”
Peter was tempted to tell you to ditch the guy - you shouldn’t be that upset over anyone except for hi- but his morals overcame and he found himself sprouting his thoughts.
You smiled, a fiery determination aura practically lighting around you. “You’re right! Hey you think I could practice on you?”
He shrugged and you walked up to him. You cleared your throat and took in a deep breath that burned your chest before slowly letting it out.
“Hey Peter,” You started, not noticing Spiderman tense in shock. “You’ve been distant these past few days and I was wondering if I said or did something wrong?”
You paused to let Spiderman assess that beginning only to hear complete silence. Spiderman was standing stiff in surprise and you freaked out. “What?! Was that bad?! That sounded stupid didn’t it-”
Peter tuned out your rambling as he mentally punched himself in the face. He didn’t even notice he had been avoiding you. Over the past week he had been caught up in his thoughts about his secret concerning you and his guilt. I mean yeah, sometimes he didn’t want to face you and occasionally he walked past you in the hallway and that one time he-
He was an idiot.
Peter looked around at the area, spotting a few security cameras nearby and frowning. That wouldn’t work with what he was planning to do.
He cut off your chatter by scooping you up and swinging into your room through the window he knew you always left open.
“What was that for-?”
“I’m sorry,” Spiderman said, closing the window and spinning around. “I’m sorry. You haven’t said anything wrong. I’m an idiot for not realizing it sooner. I’m so sorry Y/N.”
You backed away, a bit scared he knew your name, the words he was saying not quite registering yet.
Then Peter took off the mask, his brown locks spilling out messily as he quickly crossed the room to you.
“Peter?!” Shock, betrayal, embarrassment at everything you’d confided in him, love and fear all mixed together and overwhelmed your senses.
Then you were in his arms, your face smushed suddenly against his chest.
“I’m so sorry Y/N,” He repeated, hugging you tighter. You could smell the faint lingering off the cologne he had on earlier as well as a musky cinnamon scent that was just…him.
You shook harder, everything starting to make sense. “Peter, you’re…” Giving up, you let your head fall limply on his chest.
“I guess that’s why you were so jumpy when I asked you those questions,” You gave a short laugh of exhaustion but was still in a state of shock.
Peter chuckled, bringing you out of his chest so he could see your face. “Yeah. I’ve just been stressing out about not telling you. I’m sorry I’ve been such an idiot Y/N.”
You hummed. “Yeah, you were.”
Peter pouted and you giggled.
“Apology accepted, dork,” You shoved his shoulder softly.
“You know I would never hurt you,” Peter softly caressed your head and you melted into the feeling.
There was a silence in which Peter smiled gently before it turned mischievous. “So Y/N~ What was that earlier about you having a crush on me?”
You went rigid, going to escape his grasp but he only tightened the hug once again. You tried to pull away his arms but failed utterly, your hands feeling the rock hard lean muscles under his skin through the suit.
WHA-When did Peter get this strong?!!
“Let go of me!” You sputtered, so embarrassed you wanted to go crawl in a hole.
Peter laughed and you shut your eyes tightly, wishing this wasn’t happening.
“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about,” You ended up denying. Peter only laughed louder.
“No, You don’t know what you’re talking about,” He calmed slightly. “I bet you don’t have a clue how happy that made me. I’ve liked you for a very long time now Y/N.”
You were surprised to see a red tint on his cheeks and your fingers clenched.
“You’re joking,” You choked, not believing him. He raised an eyebrow.
“Maybe I should prove it then.”
The words made your mouth dry and temporarily paused your breathing process. Any light mood between you and him was now completely gone, swallowed up by the now intense atmosphere.
Peter bent closer into your personal space and slowly brought his palms up to cup your cheeks. You couldn’t control the way you were shaking in anticipation and fear.
Peter’s gaze drifted from your eyes to your lips then back up again. You licked your lips reflexively which drew his attention back there.
“Can I kiss you?” His voice was hoarse with want and restraint. You weren’t just some girl he had a crush on and wanted to kiss. You were much more than that. You were also his best friend, the one he spent everyday with and the one who he trusted with everything. The one he cried with and laughed with and was there to comfort him during his Uncle’s death. You had earned his respect and he had earned yours.
You wanted to cry.
“Yes,” You whispered and the word had just left your lips when he closed the space between your mouths.
Your eyes fluttered close and your arms raised to bring him closer. His warmth encircled you and his mouth moved with yours - at first gently then more desperate as the kiss slowly grew more passionate.
You leaned your head back and got lost in the unfamiliar pleasure of the kiss, unaware when your back hit the wall.
Peter broke apart from you only to attack your lips at a different angle. His left hand left your cheek to slip down your neck and rest on the back of your nape.
You let out a shaky sigh as chills swept up your spine. You couldn’t believe this was happening and you pushed yourself closer, not wanting it to end. Your bodies were mushed together so that there was no space between the two of you and your hands couldn’t stay still.
“Peter,” You gasped into the kiss as he invaded your mouth. You shuddered and reciprocated as best as you could, threading your fingers through his hair.
Soon enough you grew lightheaded and pushed gently on his chest to let him know you needed air.
He immediately separated from you, though reluctantly, and watched your disheveled, panting form in admiration. You took a minute to catch your breath before speaking.
“That was-” You started.
“Wow?” He finished, teasing. You rolled your eyes and gave his shoulder your signature shove.
“Shut up, I didn’t know that was you,” You intertwined your fingers with his and laid your head against the wall.
“My parents are gonna kill me,” You smiled.
Peter shrugged. “Should I buy something nice for the funeral?”
“You won’t be saying that when my dad hunts you down.”
Peter’s face was so hilarious it made you start to almost cry in your laughter.
“What? Little Spiderman’s scared of my dad?” You covered your mouth in surprise before breaking into giggles again. Peter flicked your forehead, acting annoyed but you both knew the two of you were extremely happy.
Genre: Kim Taehyung x reader smut
Word count: 1.6k
“Teaser”: Your boyfriend that’s currently touring the world with his band-members, unexpectedly calls you in the middle of the night with a “problem” ;-).
Author’s note: Heyyyyyy guys! I haven’t been around lately, cause I’ve been busy living my life. Tests, friends, obligations etc. got in the way of me and this blog - pretty much life has made it hard to post things. I’ve been writing up quite a few scenarios, but I just haven’t finished any of them. This is just a random idea that came to mind and I just went with the flow. I hope you guys like it, since quite a few have been asking me for a V smut…. so here you Tae-lovers go! I tried to proof read it, but it’s so late and I probably read over some of the typos! Sorry about that! I’m tired af! Enjoy hanas!
You’d been playing a game of “dodge Taehyung’s grabby hands,” since you’d come over. You knew it wasn’t entirely his fault. It felt like ages since the last time the two of you were able to be alone. His time consumed by practices, comebacks, and world tours. None of that bothered you, however because you knew dating an idol wasn’t going to be the easiest thing in the world. The last statement becoming more evident each time the two of you were left without any of his band mates around.
When Jin and Jungkook exited the kitchen, he’d wasted no time pressing himself against your back. His arms wrapping around your middle making you pause in finding a drink out of the fridge.
“Ya, Taehyungie,” you’d mused. “Can I find a drink in peace?”
He rested his chin on your shoulder and lovingly nuzzled into the spot.
“Just pretend him not even here.”
Taehyung’s voice advised in a rough whisper that sent your body into a heated mess. You forgot all about wanting to grab a water, although now you actually needed one. Your mouth having gone dry like the desert as his hands kneaded against your hips.
“Like that’s going to be easy,” you muttered.
His chuckle didn’t help matters when you reached in to grab a bottle, his hands still not letting go after you shut the door.
“Tae, I can’t walk like this.”
“How do you know if you don’t try?”
You let out a sigh of defeat, your feet turning back towards the living room where currently Jimin put on his first co-star in a drama, Hwarang. Taehyung had been embarrassed at first when his character made his appearance. The boys shouting and clapping and J-Hope even throwing a pillow at him that he’d easily caught. You all agreed after the third episode you all needed a break leaving Taehyung to become like a Koala stuck to your back.
The both of you shuffled back into the living room leaving Yoongi to teasingly scoff at your entrance.
“Ya, can’t you guys save that cute stuff for when you’re alone?”
“I tried to get him off, but he seems stuck here.”
Taehyung tsked in your ear and the sensation tickled the skin making your hand reach back to push at his face.
“We have to sit down, you pabo.”
You knew he wanted to tell you to just sit on his lap, but the both of you could already hear his hyungs remarks. Reluctantly, he released his hold on you and plopped down on the couch. His arm stretching back over the open seat next to him waiting for you to join him. You settled down beside him with your back set comfortably on his chest. The rest of you waiting for the others to return until you realized: “I need a pee break.”
Yoongi’s nose crinkled and you couldn’t help but laugh at the words you knew he was already going to say.
“Too much information, Y/N.”
You shrugged as you stood up and set your water bottle down on the coffee table.
“Just letting you know in case I go missing.”
“Who is going to steal you in our house?!”
Yoongi looked completely at a loss, and you didn’t bother answering him. He should’ve known the person who would steal you away was already seated on the couch.
You were halfway down the hallway to the bathroom when someone grabbed your hand from behind. You went to let out a yelp of surprise when Taehyung wrapped a quick hand over your mouth. He let go to put his index to his lips to tell you to keep quiet and lead you to his bedroom. As soon as he had you inside you waited until he was finished closing the door to ask, “What the hell?”
His answer didn’t come right away, and came less in the form of words and more of action. His hands found their way to your hips and pulled you to his chest.
“I just want some time alone with my girlfriend. Is that so much to ask?”
His gaze left your pulse speeding up as his lips moved down towards yours. He claimed them softly; a peck here and there, until it deepened and it had your fingers digging into his shoulders. You didn’t protest when he nudged you back towards the bed. Your own hands now locked in his hair and bracing against his neck. A small giggle leaving you as you both landed in a heap on the bed.
Taehyung wasted no time in turning the sound into a moan. His hands working their way under your shirt until they were under both layers of clothing and rolled your nipple between his thumb and index. He tore his lips away from yours and moved down to lock his mouth on your breast, sucking gently to pull your nipple into his mouth.
You let out a gasp as your back arched into the sheets. Your reaction only making him nudge your legs open wider until his hips sat perfectly between them. The position giving him enough control to roll his hips allowing his erection to rub against your core.
Taehyung released your breast and moved back up to kiss you, his hands already making furious work of his shirt. You pressed your hand on his chest to stop him with his shirt halfway over his head.
“Are you sure this is okay? I mean…”
There was no denying you wanted this. God, did you want it. That didn’t mean you weren’t painfully aware of the other six bodies that were currently still very much inside the dorm.
“They’re all watching the movie. They’re not even going to notice.”
As if the universe wanted to prove how wrong Taehyung could be a solid knock echoed against the door. The surprise of it making you jump on the bed and your hands rushing up to cover up your scream.
“I’m gonna have to disagree with you there, Taehyungie.”
At the sound of Namjoon’s voice you felt your face instantly grow pale. How long had he been standing outside? Were they all standing out there?!
“I’ll give you guys a couple minutes to, ugh, situate yourselves but I expect you both out here in five.”
Taehyung let out a groan as his head fell down to your chest. You were too freaked to bother nagging at him, and quickly shoved him off to the side. The embarrassment of having to go out and face them, with all of them knowing what you were doing in here, probably had your face blazing red making you search for comfort by hiding your face in your hands.
“Just leave me in here to die.”
Your words came out a muffled groan, and no matter how hard Taehyung tried to pry your hands off your face, he remained unsuccessful. “No one was going to notice my ass.”
Intro: So so so here we are my loves, at last (I’m sorry it took so long - blame school). YES I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED IT MESSY P.T. 2 FOR YOUUU.
This is a long awaited (and long overdue) sequel to Messy that was requested by a number of you and thank you guys so much for the amazing response that Messy got, it astounds me.
So hopefully this one satiates your need for more as it is a long one (surprise surprise).
I want to give a big shout out to @yourtropegirl for setting up a poll for me to decide the uniform that Leonard would wear (right) along with the reader’s dress (left), which you can see above - they are beautiful guys thanks so much.
Pairing: Bones x reader
Word Count: 5,813 (whoopsies)
Warnings: none, just tooth-aching fluff and a little bit of frustration.
Summary: So, if you haven’t read the original Messy, Leonard is all upset because Jocelyn is getting re-married and invites Leonard to the wedding. The reader jokingly says that he should go and bring a hot date, not realizing that the hot date would actually be them. This story is surrounding Jocelyn’s wedding. I hope you enjoy!
ALSO: I have actually no idea what Jocelyn is like as a person, even what she looks like as I have seen precious few episodes of TOS. So I wrote her as a blue-eyed blonde who is infuriatingly nice. Though I have an angst fic planned where she isn’t going to be so nice…
“Nope. That’s it. I’m not going.” You fumed, storming out of the bathroom, and stalking past Leonard who was zipping up his shirt.
Strong hands suddenly caught you around the waist, and you were yanked backwards.
“Hey, whoa, darlin’.” Leonard pulled you to his chest.
You beat weakly at his arms in an attempt to pry them off you and kicked your feet, trying to resist him but he was too strong.
“Let me go, Len.” You pouted, trying to squirm out of his grip.
“What’s wrong?” Leonard wrapped his arms around you tighter, one arm around your waist, one arm across your chest.
“I am not going to this wedding.” You stated, pushing off his chest to get away, but he held you fast.
“Why are- sTOP FIGHting ME!” He shouted as your elbows dug into his sides, trying to get him to release you.
“Go find some other beautiful girl to bring.” You fought.
“What are you-OW! Are you biting me?” Leonard inquired with a huff of laughter.
You pulled your teeth from his arm, “No.”
He suddenly spun you around in his grip to face him, his arms still locked around you, “What is the matter with you?”
“I-I can’t go, Len. I just-it’s too much and what if they…” You rambled but stopped when Leonard’s hands gripped either side of your face, making your cheeks squish and your lips pout slightly.
A new Jughead x Reader series I hope you like. Thanks always for reading!
Warnings: Swearing, Sexual abuse, rape scene will occur in next part. Please don’t read if easily triggered.
Your face had finally relaxed and you were able to hide the redness from your eyes long enough for them to calm down. You made your way to the lounge, opening your book and reading the words in front of you. An escape was needed, and along the pages in your hand, any world was welcomed.
A few moments had passed and a few pages had turned by your fingers. Suddenly someone shifted themselves in front of you, beginning to sit on the couch. You left your eyes on your book as no one had ever really taken notice to you. It was better to have an escape than try and participate in reality more than needed.
Prompts: “Hey, have you seen the..? Oh.” “No one needs to know.”
(a/n) this isn’t smut so get your mind out of the gutter.
Imagine~ Your staying at the Salvatore house and Kai walks in on you getting changed.
It’d been 3 weeks since you’d started staying at the Salvatore Boarding house, Stefan and Damon were very protective over you. Especially since you were one of the only humans they actually cared about.
Currently, you only had a towel wrapped around you as you rummaged through the draws looking for clothes to wear.
After a while of deciding you decided on the perfect outfit for the day. As soon as you dropped your towel you heard a voice quickly approaching your room.
“Hey, have you seen the..? Oh.” Kai trailed off as you quickly tried to cover yourself up.
“Kai! Get out!” you yelled, desperately trying to cover up. But he didn’t move a muscle.
Instead a smirk creeped onto his face as he stood in the doorway.
“If you wanted my attention you didn’t have to be so upfront about it.” he smirked making you scoff at his words.
“Ugh, Kai! Just get out so I can get changed.” you groaned throwing a pillow towards him.
He held his hands up in surrender, gradually turning around as he exited the room.
You quickly slipped into your clothes, your face still bright red from embarrassment.
After a while of lounging around on your bed in attempts to avoid Kai you could feel your stomach growling.
You groaned as you got out of bed, walking down the stairs in hopes Kai had left.
You made it into the kitchen without seeing Kai or anybody for that matter so you assumed you were home alone. As you reached for the bread you could feel a presence behind you which made you sigh and turn around.
“What do you want now Kai?” you sighed as you turned to face the siphoner. He stood in the doorway, his black shirt hanging loosely around his torso.
“That was quite the show you put on upstairs.” he grinned whilst you just rolled your eyes.
“Kai, it wasn’t a show and you sure as hell weren’t meant to see it.” you said, smiling sarcastically before resuming your sandwich making.
He slowly approached you until you could feel the heat of his body radiating onto you. You span around to be met face to face with the sociopath who currently had you feeling all kinds of things.
“Are you sure I wasn’t meant to?” he whispered sending shivers down your spine.
Your breath hitched in your as his warm breath traveled down your neck. “Kai.” you whispered as butterflies erupted your stomach.
“No one needs to know.” he mumbled looking deep into your eyes. And with that you pressed his lips against yours.
(a/n) I’m sorry this is so short but I had no idea what to write :( xx
If children inherit one of their parents' quirks, or a combination of the two, what do you think Bakugou's parents' quirks are? Also what do you think Izuku would have gotten if his power manifested like usual(his father breathes fire and his mother has minor telekinesis)?
Actually anon!!!!! We know Mitsuki and Masaru’s quirks! Mitsuki can sweat glycerine (no explosions) and Masaru has oxidizing sweat (can make small explosions) so when combined you got Bakugou’s nitroglycerine sweat! I find it super neat tbh I was really happy when I found out about it (…also because I kinda headcanoned Bakugou taking the explosions from his mild and lovable father and he did what a good)
As for Izuku tbh I don’t know? I never spent much time thinking about it, but if we exclude the possibilities of him having his mother or his father’s same quirks, the neatest combination would have probably been firebending I think - he could either produce his own fire (like his father does, that would be the strongest outcome I guess) and bend it through his mother’s magnetizing-type quirk, or he could bend already existing fire only, which is also pretty neat but not as self-sufficient and therefore a lil less strong… anyway it would have been hilarious tbh because if he’d had a fire quirk Todoroki Bakugou and he would have all been fire babies and that’s ???? amazing™
You know, as funny and adorable was seeing Kiri cry because Tetsu’s quirk is similar to his, the new chapters that revealed his insecurities made it more sad, because the Sport Festival is for gaining popularity and attention, and Kirishima already thought his quirk was not flashy, then he meets another student who has a quirk similar to his. It must have been really devastating to his self-esteem
I’m gonna be honest anon, I’ve been keeping track of Kiri’s self-esteem issues since he first mentioned disliking his quirk before the USJ attack so anything that’s happened after it in that sense hasn’t really been a surprise for me? I’ve been hoping Horikoshi would properly address it like he did in the lastest chapters for ages - seeing him honestly upset about Tetsu having his same quirk made me go aw baby the first time I read it in the manga too, so when I saw it happen again in the anime I did still find it kinda sad BUT ALSO it does make you think about how much he grew into himself!! How much better he got with his confidence and how much he tries and works hard oh my god I love that child
Also!!! The fact that even though at first he had that reaction to Tetsu they still ended up being seriously good friends and gunning for each other and having the healthiest rivalry ever is!!!! So good!!!! He could have held a grudge against him forever but instead!!!!! Oh man!!!!!
(… what actually made me sad because I’m weak and a baby is Kaminari going “aw man I’m not good at those” when they announced the second round, like, god save me how many times has this boy been left out of children games through his childhood because his quirk is incompatible with teamwork I want to c r y)
aaa can I request a modern John Laurens X reader where it's their wedding day and they're both experiencing full on jitters and it's cute and stuff? no smut just fluff <3
hey hey I hope you enjoy this sickening fluff
john is my baby ok I love him so very much
“Howdy! This is John Laurens’ cell. Uh, if you hear this message, I probably can’t get to the phone, or my battery has run out. Leave a message after the beep.”
“Uh, hiya, hon. I just- I just needed to hear your voice, but, uh, I guess the guys have taken you off on some wild adventure. Um,” You tap your fingers to your lips as you furrow your brow. “I guess, uh, have a good party. No strippers! I’ll see you tomorrow,” You pause, thinking of something suitably cheesy to say. “I’ll be the one in white. I love you.” You say, and hang up, smiling.
“So?” Your friend Angelica asks, coming up behind you and resting a hand on your shoulder.
“Voicemail. I guess he must be having a wild night tonight…”
Angelica giggles. “It’s Alexander, Lafeyette and Hercules. Of course they’ll make his bachelor party something to remember. Besides, this is your bachelorette party, too, and we’re going to have fun, fun, fun!”
“Yeah…” You say wistfully.
Angelica catches your eye. “Uh oh. I know that look. You don’t want to stay at this party.” She grins knowingly at you.
You sigh. She’s right, you’d do anything to just be spending tonight, this last night before your wedding day, curled up on your rickety old sofa with John as you watch corny cowboy movies and feed each other Doritos and popcorn as though in the sickening honeymoon phase.
Hey, what can you say? You’re in love, after all.
“You’re right, Angie. I don’t, but…” You’re cut off by the distinct beeping of your cell phone. You glance down at it.
John❤️, reads the screen.
“Ah.” Angelica smirks. “I’ll leave you to it!” She squeezes your shoulder and walks off to join her sisters, standing a few yards away to give privacy.
You bite your lip to suppress a smile and swipe the screen, holding the phone up to your ear.
“Hi, babe. Sorry I missed your call, I didn’t hear my phone go off.“ The warmth in your fiancée’s tone soothes you. You can already imagine the wide grin on his face.
“It’s okay.” Your eyes crinkle as a slow, steady smile spreads across your face involuntarily. “What have the boys got you doing? No strip clubs, I hope.”
“Nah. Nah, just a night around town. We’re at a bar. Alex bet Herc that he can out drink him.”
“Poor Al.” You shake your head. “Tell him not to drink too much, yeah? We need him sober for his best man speech tomorrow. He can’t tell funny anecdotes with a hangover.”
“Ugh.” John groans, and you laugh. “Why did I make Al my best man again?”
“Because you went by the logic that you’ve known him the least time, therefore he would have less embarrassing stories. Of course, you failed to realise that since he’s your best friend, he would have the most embarrassing stories.”
“I’m an idiot." John sighs.
"You’re my idiot.” You say fondly. A sweet silence follows.
“…Can I tell you something?”
“…I’m…I’m really, really j-jittery and nervous." John admits. Your breath hitches. Him too?
”…So am I.“ You whisper softly. You can hear John heave a sigh on the other side of the phone.
"I don’t wanna screw this up."
“And I don’t just mean the wedding. I mean…us. I love you, (Name), and I don’t want to lose you, not for anything.”
“You won’t. Not for anything. I love you too, John. And it’ll be a lot clearer tomorrow when I see you at the end of the aisle, waiting for me.”
You can hear the smile in his voice at his next words. “You’re going to be stunning. I love you. Bye, now.”
The wedding preparations pass by in a blur, between people doing your hair, makeup, and helping you into your dress.
Oh, your dress.
You had to hand it to Hercules, he was an amazing tailor.
The dress was long, pure white and silky, and it clung to your upper body like you had walked though a delicate spider web. From your waist down, however, it flowed, almost like running water pooling around your feet. The train wasn’t that long. There was a light lilac sash tied just under your bosom with a delicate gold trim, and you had a sweetheart neckline with sheer, off-the-shoulder sleeves. It was beautiful.
You were beautiful.
Your makeup was mostly a natural look, but your lipstick had a slight purple tint and your eyeshadow was also muted purple. Your hair was tied in an elegant French braid, with a lily tucked just behind your ear. You held a bouquet of violets, lilies and lilac.
You can't stop staring at yourself in the mirror.
“(Name)?” Eliza calls from behind the partition that hid you.
“Y-yes?” You mumble.
“Come on out! We want to see you!” Peggy says encouragingly.
You take a deep breath, close your eyes and reveal yourself. The Schuyler sisters gasp and clamour in praise.
“You look beautiful!” Angelica cooes.
“You…you think?” You ask, mouth dry and palms sweating.
“Of course!” Eliza assures you.
Peggy frowns as she notices your hands trembling. “You’re nervous.” She states.
“Yeah. I’m all jittery.” You say, voice shaking.
“It’s all going to be okay. You won’t make a fool of yourself.” Eliza says calmly, squeezing your shoulder. You smile weakly at her as the wedding march begins. The sisters get into line in front of you, and you are vaguely aware of a large, male hand wrapping around yours and guiding it to a bicep, in preparation to walk you to your groom.
Your cue plays, and you step into the room, catching a quick glimpse at the guests before your eyes are full of John.
It takes all of your willpower to not rip your hand free and sprint down the aisle into his arms.
The walk takes an eternity, but you don’t even care, because he is right there and he is so breathtakingly, mindnumbingly beautiful that you can feel your heart breaking into pieces in your chest but you still don’t care. You could watch him forever.
You love him.
His eyes are alight with so much wonder and love, and his smile is wide, happy and bright. His unruly curls are pulled back into a low ponytail, and he is wearing an immaculate black suit with a lilac tie, the exact shade of your sash.
As you get closer, though, you can notice the faint sheen on his freckled forehead and the slight tremor in his hands as they reach out and encompass yours. His hands are damp with nerves, but that’s okay, because so are yours, your fingers threaded though his as he gives your palm a light squeeze.
Just being near him calms you. Your jitters subside, and you can see that he visibly calms as well.
Your eyes lock and your cheeks immediately redden at the emotion and devotion prominent in his gaze.
“Dearly beloved.” The minister begins. “We are gathered here today…”
You don’t hear any of it, until he motions towards you to say your vows.
“(Name) (Last Name), I have loved you since the moment I first saw you.” John begins. “I remember walking into my English class in my sophomore year, and all I could see was this girl with a (hair colour) head of hair sitting in my usual spot. I was ticked off, until you shifted slightly and your hair fell differently, showing me your face, and all I could see was this gorgeous girl. In my seat.” The crowd titters and he grins before continuing. “I was always too shy to approach you, to which Alexander, Hercules and Lafeyette would tease me to no end, even after introducing us when I would even talk to you rarely. When the teacher assigned us to be partners in our project, I was sick with nerves and convinced I would quit. Until you gave me that beautiful smile of yours and I felt calmer instantly. In that moment I knew that one day, I was going to marry you. I promise to always love you and to forever stay true to you."
You don’t realise that you are crying until John reaches up to brush your tears away with his thumb.
You take a deep breath before smiling and beginning your own vows. "John Laurens, the second I met you I dreamed of marrying you. When Alexander introduced us, I remember getting so nervous that I had to leave early. On the day you finally asked me to Homecoming, full of nerves and holding a bouquet of lilies, I felt so happy I could burst, and I started crying. We’ve been inseparable ever since. I want to grow old with you. I want to share everything with you. The two children with the fat cocker spaniel and a house with a porch - I don’t need those things, as long as you’re by my side for the rest of my life. You are my everything. I love you so much, and I always will.”
There isn’t a dry eye in the room as you finish. John lets out a quiet, shaky breath as tears brim and slip down his grinning face.
“John Laurens, do you take (Name) (Last Name) to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
“(Name) (Last Name), do you take John Laurens to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
“By the power invested in me,” The minister declares. “I declare you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
The last thing you see as your eyes slip shut is your husband's beaming, tearful face as you feel the weight of his lips pressed against yours.

The excitement of moving off of the Finalizer and onto Starkiller Base had become a faint memory. At first, you were more than thrilled to be surrounded by nature and not open space. Sure, seeing nothing but stars was quite pleasant, but you grew to feel a bit of cabin fever when all you ever saw was stars.

Jackson/Stiles. Teen. Also on AO3.
When Jackson’s habit
of casual dating earns him the label of Casanova, his manager and best friend,
Danny, suggests that he do a little damage control. Enter Stiles Stilinski,
famous actor whose last two movies have apparently flopped. They already have a
sarcastic flirting going on, so Jackson knows getting Stiles to fake date him
is the best plan ever.
“You’ve got to do something about it, Jackson.”
“Like what?” Jackson takes a sip of his drink, frowning when
the stupid umbrella bumps against his nose. He pulls it out of the glass and
tosses it across the table at Danny. “You know how much I hate random shit in
“Which is why I always make sure to ask for an umbrella
whenever I order you iced tea.” Danny smirks, and the bastard somehow manages
to still look like a total sweetheart instead of an ass. It’s a skill that
Jackson has never managed to master, even after thirteen years in the spotlight.
You step into the kitchen of the bunker, and set the grocery bags on the table. You had decided to bake Dean a pie for his birthday. The boys will be back from their hunt any moment now, so you need to get moving. You take the ingredients out of the bags and set them on the counter. You then take out a cutting board, and you start chopping up the pecans. After adding the eggs and sugar, you hear Sam’s and Dean’s voices. Being in the kitchen, you hadn’t even heard them come in the bunker. As they got closer, you couldn’t help but overhear their conversation.
“I’m just going by what I see Dean,” you hear Sam say, “and I see the way you look at her.”
“What are you, my shrink?” Dean responds.
“Look man, I’m just saying, I haven’t seen you this happy in along time. Hell, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this happy. You finally found a woman you could settle down with, someone who’s in the life.”
“How about you drop it, Sam.”
Your hands stop in mid-air, batter from the pecan mixture dripping into the bowl. You try to wrap your head around everything you just heard. You’ve always held a torch for Dean, and the thought of him holding one for you, gives you a small spark of hope. You don’t hear Dean respond, so you suspect he went to his room or something. You start pouring the concoction into the pie crust, and you don’t notice Dean standing in the doorway. His eyes follow you as you put the pie in the oven, and wash your hands. After you clear off the counter, you notice him. He’s leaning against the door frame, with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. Your heart practically jumps out of your chest.
“How long have you been standing there?” You ask
“Not long enough.” He stands up straight and walks towards you, stopping at the counter where you’re standing. “What are you baking? It smells good.”
You look at him and fake nonchalance. “A pecan pie.”
The incredulous look on his makes you smile. “Pie?”
“It’s your birthday isn’t it? I had to make your favorite pie.”
Dean steps closer, you can almost hear the steady beating of his heart, making your own beat faster. “I didn’t know you could cook.” He says in a low voice. You look up at him and smirk. “There are a lot of things you don’t know about me, Dean Winchester.”
He looks down at you, his green eyes looking deep into yours. “Yeah, I’ll bet.” He picks you up and sits you on the counter, standing in between your legs. You know what’s going to happen now, and you welcome it. Dean leans in and presses his lips to yours. His lips are warm, and you love the feel of them. You put a hand on each side of face, the stubble on his jawline scratching your fingers. He puts his hands on your hips, and slips his tongue into your mouth, intensifying the kiss. A warmth floods through you, and you put your arms around Dean’s neck, pulling him even closer. After another minute, you pull back, needing air. Dean’s chest rises and falls against yours. You look into his eyes. “I’ve been waiting a long time for you to do that.” You say with a pleased smile. He smiles back at you. “Not as long as I have, sweetheart.” He leans in to kiss you again, when Sam walks in the room and clears his throat. Dean stands back and looks at his brother with annoyance. “Really, Sam?”
Sam gives Dean his classic bitchface. “Hey, I was coming to the kitchen to get a beer. After all, this is where we eat.”
You cover your mouth to hide a chuckle, and hop off the counter. “I, uh, better check on the pie.”
“Pie?” Sam asks
“Yeah.” Dean says with pride. “She made me pie.”
Sam walks over to the fridge and pulls out a bottle of beer. You turn to the oven, and Dean’s arms come around you, pulling you against him. He nestles his face into your neck and kisses it. “Dean, I have to check on the pie.” You try to sound stern, but you can’t stop smiling.
Before Sam leaves the room, he rolls his eyes. “Ugh, Get a room you two.”
You pull at Dean’s arms “Come on, Dean, let go.” You laugh. Dean opens his arms, letting you free. You open the oven slighly, peeking in at the baking dessert. The sweet smell fills your nostrils, and makes your mouth water. “It still has a ways to go.” You turn around and face him. His face turns a little more serious, and he nods his head towards the oven. “That’s why you wanted to stay behind?”
You give a small shrug. “You’ve been having such a hard time with the mark, and I just knew it was something you needed.” He puts a hand to your cheek. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome, Dean.” He opens his arms, and you walk into his embrace. He puts his arms around you, holding you close to him. The rhythmic beating of his heart is soothing, calming every nerve in your body. Dean is the kind of person that loves with actions, not with words. As you stand there in his arms, you don’t need to hear the words I love you, because you can feel them. You pull back so you can look at him without straining your neck. “Happy Birthday, Dean.” You give him a warm smile.
He leans down and gives you a light kiss. “Thank you, darlin.”
auditorium is packed from wall to wall between the press and the
ticket-holders. The air is a little stuffy. The pounding bass from the speakers makes
your body slightly vibrate. You push through a small crowd of backstage
workers, poke your head out from behind the curtain, and scan the hundreds of
faces for one in particular. Hundreds of faces … you feel a little queasy.
“Come on. Please show up … You can’t do this to me. Where
are you?” You search the pocket of your robe for your cell phone. You whip it
out and dial his number, shouting at him through the speaker before he can even
“Prompto! Where the hell are you?”
“Ugh. I’m SORRY I’m late… We’re almost there,” he replies
“WE!?” Your heart starts racing. “Who else is coming!?
As you try to listen to Promoto’s response over the clamor
of the auditorium, a staff member from backstage take you by the shoulder.
“(Y/N,) you need to get ready. We’re about to start.”
You nod absentmindedly to the staff member and yell into
your phone, “GET YOUR ASS HERE RIGHT NOW! I have to go! …” You soften your
voice. Prompto is used to your dramatics, but that doesn’t stop you from
feeling a little guilty. “…I miss you, Freckles… See you after the show.”
* * *
Two blondes and a massive brunette enter the auditorium not
too long after the phone call. The group consists of Luna, Prompto and Gladio.
The usher at the door gives them a hypercritical glare for arriving just as the
show is about to begin.
Prompto requests with a nervous chuckle, “d’ya think we
could get some seats close to the runway?”
The usher sighs audibly and
after rolling his eyes, leads them down a low-lit aisle way. He adds with
snark; “you’re lucky the Queen is with you…”
The three, Gladio especially,
shuffle awkwardly infront of a row of seated people to the only seats left
close enough to the runway. As they sit down, Luna addresses the two boys.
“Thank you for letting me come
along, Prompto. When I heard you were coming to see your friend, I asked Noctis
if it was alright for me to come along too. So I owe you BOTH thanks. Without
Gladio as our formal escort, I wouldn’t have been able to come. It’s been such
a long time since anything exciting like this happened in Insomnia.”
Gladio squeezes into one of the
tiny, fold down auditorium seats. He grunts. “It’s ok, Lady Luna. I’m just not
used to all this noise and the …er… cramped space. Anyways, I didn’t know you
were into this sort of thing.”
“I always loved fashion,” Luna
smiles. “And this is event is to raise money for the children left homeless
after the Starscourge. I thought it fitting to attend.”
Prompto sighs with relief. “I’m
just glad we were able to get close to the runway. If she doesn’t see me here,
I’ll get in real trouble.”
Luna laughs. “Sounds like a
“She’s the only girl that
Prompto can be around besides you that doesn’t give him a nosebleed,” teases
“Heh … well. We haven’t seen
eachother in a while.”
All of the lights cave in on
the runway and after a brief introduction on the spirit of the event, models
one after another drift out onto the stage. Their attire fills the auditorium
with eccentric colors from artful designs. Sleeves like wings lift behind
them. Skirts like water flow around them. A frequency of life oscillates with
each swift turn. Harmonics with the essence of Eos herself swell from plumes
in their hair and the dazzle of lights that splash in reflection off sequined
corsets. The crowd sits in silence, soaking in the rays of the artful display
like the vegetation of the earth after the first dawn. Insomnia craves what the
show is giving off.
The imaginative spectacle
continues for 25 minutes or so and a casual after party is prepared for
everyone who attended and all who were a part of the show.
* * *
You arrive at the afterparty in a long black dress with gold
details. You feel sleek but comfortable, and the details of gold running along
the seams lay a dramatic effect to your silhouette. You’ve gotten there a
little bit late. Too much work on your hair, probably. You shoulder through the
people and once you find an oasis of space you’re able to spot Gladio as if by
a mile away towering over the crowd. You make that your focus point. People are
trying to compliment you on your performance as you continue on. You say thank
you here and there but you have ONE mission: find the Chocobo butt.
“There you are, sunshine!” you spring out from a cluster of
people and wrap your arms around Prompto from behind. He’s holding a drink of
something and almost flings it across the hall in surprise.
He turns and embraces you. “Hey there! It’s been a while,
“Yes! Because you traded me for the King, you traitor!” you
mess with his hair.
“Ohh, come on!” he laments, pulling you out at arms length.
“You know it wasn’t like that. You will always be like a big sister to me.
You’re one of my best friends.”
Prompto lays one arm casually across the tops of your
shoulders and adds, “So let me introduce you. This is the Queen, Lady Luna Nox Caelum. She and Noct got hitched, ya
know? And I’m sure you remember Gladio. ”
You attempt to bow while in Prompto’s hold. “Your majesty.
I’m (y/n) Valentine. It’s an honor to meet you.”
Luna lets a gentle smile spread. “Thank you. It’s a
pleasure, Miss Valentine. Any friend of Prompto’s is a friend of mine.”
Your eyes jump to Gladio. “Hey there. You’re looking as
large and in charge as ever.”
Gladio’s holding a beer. He brings the froth to his lips,
takes a swig and grins. “The large got larger and the charge got bigger.”
“If you guys will excuse us, I’d like to kidnap Prompt for a
bit. We have so much to catch up on!”
You guide Prompto to a corner where a couple of nice chairs
are unaccompanied. The two of you laugh, talk and drink for over an hour,
sharing the stories of how life brought you both to where you are now. His
friendship with you is the epitome of a TRUE friendship; even with time and
distance between you, when you’re together, it’s as if none of the ever
existed. You’re able to pick right back up where you left off.
You’ve known Prompto since you were very young. You both
grew up in Insomnia foster homes and went to the same school. Your young brain
took note on how badly Prompto wanted to know the Prince and curiosity brought
you close to him. He turned into your best friend with ease. As you grew into a
young woman, he was the only one who saw you for more than just a pretty face.
Prompto knew all your fears and all of your dreams. He saw you at your worst
and at your best. To see him leave with Noctis all those years ago was more
painful than any cliché heartbreak could offer. You were torn. He was the
brother you never had.
One of the younger models struts past you and Prompto and
gives him a little wink. Prompt turns bright red from the tip of both of his
“So…” you giggle, slightly inebriated. “I see you still
freak out with girls. How come? You need to get it together, Argentum! Or I
will steal you and take you to one of my practice sessions. You’ll be surrounded by all the pretty girls and
HAVE to teach yourself to talk properly to them!”
“What!? No! heh heh! N-no! That won’t be necessary,” he
chokes a little.
“I’m just joking!” You laugh and then become very serious.
“I really missed you. Please don’t go again. … Or I will KILL that King of
“Aye!” he covers your mouth so no one catches the slander.
“OK! Too much to drink I think!”
You shrug innocently. “Yeah… probably better get back to the
“Hotel?” Prompto looks confused. “Why are you staying at a
hotel? I’d assume you had a nice penthouse or something uptown.”
“Uh …” you let out a sad little exhale. “I was staying with
my parents. But they kicked me out.” You swirl around the cocktail you’ve been
sipping. The olive has dropped in and it whirls round and round.
“Oh.My.Gods!” Prompto says excitedly out of the blue. “You
should TOTALLY come stay with ME!I have an extra room! It’ll be awesome!”
You feel light swim back into your eyes. You move from the
chair and tackle him with another hug. “Did I ever tell you how much I love
you!? Really? You’d let me stay with you!? Yes! Ok! Ok.” You step back with a
massive grin. “How about tomorrow? Is that too soon? Tomorrow? Because I’d
really love to move in like … TOMORROW.”
Prompto laughs and says with a nod of his head, “Of course.
I’ll text you the address. But I’d better go find Luna and Gladio. It was
really great seeing you. I can’t wait for tomorrow.”
“Thank you, Prompt. You really are my sunshine.” You kiss
his cheek and watch as he saunters away.
* * *
The following day, you show up at Prompto’s apartment a
little bit earlier than scheduled. …just a little bit. You stand in the early morning
sunshine and knock gently. After no response, you knock a little harder. You
listen closely for footsteps to approach the other side of the door. Nothing.
The only sounds are the birds chittering in the trees and the odd car here and
there passing behind you on the street.
You pull out your phone and dial Prompto’s number. You coo
out happily as soon as he answers the phone; “Good MORNING, Sunshine! I’m
HE-ERE! Wake up and open the door, will you? I’m dying for a cup of coffee!”
Prompto responds a little groggily, “Ah? Wha … what time is
“It’s 8am, sunshine! Let’s go!”
You hear a long groan and the sound of the phone’s speaker
brushing up against the pillows. “It’s too early! … Just let me get some pants
You wait with your arms crossed until he opens the door and
gives you a huge, somewhat sleepy hug. After stepping away, he gawks at the
amount of luggage that’s been sitting like the leaning tower of suitcases in
the sun behind you.
“That’s – that’s all YOURS?”
“Hehehe. Yes. Why?” You say coyly
“I don’t know where we’re going to put all that.”
“It’s ok. Don’t worry about it right now!” You reply and
grab a couple of suit cases, letting yourself inside. “We will figure it out.
But for now; COFFEE.”
After you and Prompto reposition the tower of your things to
an unaccompanied corner of the living room, he sets off to the kitchen to start
“Oh! I forgot!” He calls out to you from the other room. “There’s
a party tonight at the palace and you’re coming with me! No excuses, young
lady! It’ll be a blast!”
“Ehh …ok. I guess it will be good to see Luna again. Aish! I
mean the Queen! I’m really bad with protocol.” You grit your teeth a little and
settle into the living room couch. You sweep away some chip crumbs from the
cushion. There’s an opened bag of some kind of colorful snack on the coffee
“It’s fine!” He reenters the room with a cup of coffee for
you. “Just do what you do best; look pretty.”
Prompto’s smile always gave you such comfort. And right now
as you sink back into the bachelor’s leather couch, imaging being infront of a
bunch of people at a royal party, you need some comfort.
Prompto picks up on your thoughts right away as he hands you
your coffee. “Are you still worried about being around a bunch of people? I
figured after all the modeling, you’d be good to go!”
You take a little sip. “Every time I go to walk out from
backstage, it’s confronting that fear. But I know it’s only for a second. Like
I walk out, stare at the furthest thing over all those heads, and turn around.
At a party though … totally different story.”
“What about the party yesterday after the show?” he sits
down next to you. You hear some mystery wrapper crinkling way down underneath the
“Too many people in a small hall to notice me really,” was
the only thing you could say. There was more to it though…
Prompto stretched and kicked his feet up on the table, knocking
over an empty soda can. “You’re gonna be fine! You’ll be with me!”
For the rest of the day, you
unpack in the spare room, help clean up the place, and talk about anything and
everything that comes to mind. You relish in the nostalgia. Your cheeks hurt a
little after a while of so much laughing. This is going to be good. A good
* * *
For the evening party, you decide to wear a black and silver
tulle ballgown with one shoulder strap. The fabric gathers at the waist in
jewels. You slip on some pretty but practical heels, they’re hidden under the
skirt anyways, and curl your hair until it bounces like springs. When you exit
the spare room after hours of meticulous prepping, Prompto is waiting for you in
the living room. He’s got a decent suit on, but you notice a few things; the
buttons are buttoned unevenly like he missed one, his dress shirt isn’t tucked
in, he doesn’t have a tie on, and his hair is a MESS.
He reaches his arms out to you and examines you head to toe,
“WOW! Just WOW! I will have the best date of the night!”
He’s so sweet it makes you consider not telling him what you’re
…You do anyways.
“Prompto!” You reach your arms out to him too with a forced
smile. “Sunshine. You need to tuck in your shirt, grab a tie, fix your buttons
and brush your hair. I’m sorry.”
“Ehh … you really think so?” he scratched his head
“Yes.” You say simply and tend to all of those things until
he’s all shined up. “MUCH better.”
A royal taxi transports you both to the palace in no time.
Prompto escorts you proudly inside with your arm in his. You pass through the
corridors and come into a ballroom that is not nearly as crowded as you thought
it would be. This was an intimate event.
You squeeze Prompto’s hand. He looks at you with a tender
laugh. “You’re going to be FINE. This isn’t your first rodeo. You got this champ!”
He lets go of your hand and gives you a little push right through the entrance.
The ballroom expands before your eyes, appearing larger than
it looked from the outside. So huge. And yet so few people. They’re all looking
at YOU. Your chest tightens. Or maybe the dress needs a little adjusting. You
look for the nearest exit since Prompto is blocking the way behind you and find
a nearby balcony. You escape quickly with no explanation.
1 2 3 BREATHE… 1 2 3
“Why am I so frickin nervous?” You ask yourself outloud,
pacing on the balcony behind the shelter of a heavy, drawn curtain. “Why!?”
You peek your head out from the curtain and examine the
faces quickly. UGH. You retract back
to pacing. It doesn’t take long before the taunting negative thoughts that you’ve
shoved to the back of your head seep forward.
They’re judging me.
Just like mom and dad.
“But I get judged on the walkway for a LIVING!” you fight
with yourself, holding onto the railing of the balcony.
These royals aren’t like the audience.
These royals are just like mom and dad. I’m not good enough for them.
“ – Are you ok, miss?” A cultured voice interrupts from
behind you. You gasp a little and turn on your heels. You recognize the person
vaguely. You know him from somewhere. He’s tall, dressed fine as hell, has tidy
dark blonde hair and some nasty -looking scars plaguing the side of his face.
“Oh… yes. I’m fine … I guess.” You stutter out.
“I believe you accompanied Prompto, if I’m not mistaken,”
the gentleman remarks, looking in no particular direction. Upon further
examination, you discover that he’s blind. “I’m sorry to intrude. It sounded
like you were in distress. Shall I fetch Promp for you?”
“No …” You say a little embarrassed. Your heart begins
pounding and the anxiety thrusts itself forward in the form of a verbal explosion.
“No. You know what!? I don’t need Prompto right now. I don’t need ANYONE. What
I need right now is for people to stop judging me for what I do for a living!
What’s wrong with being a model? Hm? Tell me.”
The gentleman’s mouth is gaping a little. He nods his head
slightly and says, “I didn’t even know you were a model. But I suppose – “
“You suppose NOTHING. What makes me sooo different from
someone like … like LUNA! I mean the Queen! Just because she’s a royal means
she not superficial? But I am because I’m in the fashion industry?! I’m just as
smart as the people out there!” You point to the curtain even though he can’t
see you point. “I have a freaking degree in Ancient History! And! And! I know
THREE different languages! AND! I know how to cook my own food! GOOD food
because I took TWO years of culinary school!”
“That’s – that’s quite impressive miss …?”
“Valentine!” You shout at him. “It’s VALENTINE! And you won’t
forget it!” You exhale angrily, pull back the curtain and start walking fast
across the ball room floor.
Your heels clap madly beneath you as you go, tears pooling
in your eyes. You feel a little insane. You pass through tiny clusters of
people as they share drinks. You keep your stare to the floor. It looks like
there’s a small corridor up ahead to run too. Run. Run. Run. Always running.
Oof! You run right into the arms of the unexpected.
“Is it really you? No way! Are you ok?”
You fix your hair and lift your gaze from beneath your eye lashes.
The person helping you up is Noctis – KING Noctis Lucis Caelum.
“I am SO sorry!” You say, suddenly aware of the tears
rolling down your cheeks.
“It’s ok!” He says, helping you to your feet. “I’m just
shocked to see you here. I never would’ve expected it. It’s been so long!”
He smiles pleasantly at the small group of people that he
was entertaining in discussion. “Please excuse me. We’ll continue this
Noctis takes soft hold of your hand and leads you to the
small corridor that you were heading to in the first place. Beyond the noise of
the hall, he pulls out a handkerchief for you. Abashedly, you wipe your eyes
and see him fully for the first time in over ten years; a mature, sculpted face
freshly shaved and looking as smooth as just-whipped butter, crisp blue eyes
and hair that LOOKS like it wants to be touched. Whoa.
“Thank you … your Highness …” you say, wishing you could
force the blood from rising in your face.
“Ahh, geez,” he scratches the back of his head the same way
Prompto does. “That’s too formal coming from you. Just call me Noctis or Noct
or whatever. We’re friends, right?”
“Sure … Noct – Noctis,” a smile finds its way to your lips.
“That’s better,” he sets a hand on your bare shoulder. You
shiver unintentionally. “Do you want to go back to the party? Or do you need a
little more time?”
Noctis smiles gently at you and you feel both relaxed and
nervous at the same time. There’s a little fire rumbling eagerly in the pit of
your stomach – a tiny new flame that wants you to feed it.
Go. Go with him.
You nod your head and hand him his handkerchief. “Yeah. …Thank
you so much. I could really use a drink right now.”
The King offers you his arm and he accompanies you for the
rest of the evening. You limit yourself to just a couple of drinks. Prompto
sticks close by, taking pictures and prompting (for no better word) old
memories of the three of you in high school. The entire ordeal feels like an
out of body experience. Is this real life? And … where’s Luna?
