An Introduction - Loki x Reader - Part 2
My notes: Part 2 is finished! I tried making it a little longer than the first part in a hopes to get more out for you who read, I hope you all like it!
After rising with his hand, you looked up to him and smiled. This sense of unease didn’t vanish, but you oddly felt comfortable with it.
“So, Loki, the god of mischief?”
You spoke with a weak mocking tone. You still weren’t sure if he was who he says he was, you had heard about the stories before, and what had happened in New York, but because of how the Internet is, it’s easy to fake things, to make them stories. You now realise why you were so uneasy.
“I don’t think I would ever name myself as such, but Midgard seems to have done the pleasure without me.” He spoke, both hands behind his back.
“What happened in New York a few years back, it did actually happen?”
Still unsure, but it was something you had to ask. You had seen footage online and watched a day’s worth of interviews with people who were involved, there was one that even included looked at the Avengers. The destruction he had caused was huge, and yet you still aren’t frightened.
Loki looked over towards you, while you both continued to walk. A small sigh, followed by a slight smirk came to the surface.
“Ah- A fan of my work I see?”
He spoke out in a slight sarcastic tone, with a hint of anger intruding in his voice. You could tell he was trying to become a better person, or Asgardian if you wanted to be specific. It’s not something someone can easily forget.
“I first had seen what had happened online but to be honest, I didn’t really believe it. It’s like it was something you would see in a movie.”
Letting out a small chuckle, he moved his view to the front of him once again.
“I suppose you could say that, I am trying to become someone better. I have served my time and helped my people out to help make up for it.”
You raise your eyebrow while looking up to him.
“I don’t think it quite makes up for it yet.”
A slight pause before his answer. It was confirmed now that he was trying, and small smile grows on your face knowing that.
“I suppose so.” Loki says with a chuckle.
You both get to the other side of the park, with its gates a minute away.
“So what’s Iron Man like?”
You begin to say in a playful way, interested, but also just trying to mess with him, forgetting for a second who he really was and what he is capable of.
“If I really must answer you, he’s an arrogant and sarcastic fool.”
You could see a bit of anger creep back into his face as one of his eyes twitched. If he stared forward any harder it would probably burn a hole through the gate. It likely wasn’t the best idea to try to bring the Avengers up now, whether you were trying to mess with him or not.
“Hey I’m just winding you up!”
Explaining your reasoning for bringing the snarky Stark up, you speed up slightly and turn towards him forcing him to look at you.
“’Winding me up’? What is that supposed to mean?”
“I was just- It’s an expression where-“
He stops in his steps, sighing slightly causing you to halt your explanation, placing his hand on your shoulder and pushes you behind a nearby tree.
“This is ridiculous. I think I can speed things up a small bit.”
Loki still spoke in a hard tone, he held his hand out for you yet again; you look and took ahold of it.
“What are you doing?”
You asked with genuine questioning, then it suddenly hit you, and you began to panic slightly.
“Just hold on tight, I’m not sure how simple it is with another.”
You look up to him as he pulled you towards himself, you held onto his hand tightly and closed your eyes.
One minute you were holding onto Loki’s hand in the park, and the next you both were in the town centre, luckily he had enough sense in him to find a blind spot just behind a bus shelter.
“Apparently it is quite easy.”
It was all you could process; you had gone a 30 minute walk in under a second. As silly as it makes you feel, you had to admit it, it really was magic.
“I’m sorry about what I said.”
Apologizing this time, you feel him squeeze your hand slightly, as your eyes widen, embarrassment starts to take over and you quickly let go of him hand. You hear a short chuckle and started to feel the heat rise to your cheeks.
Hitting yourself to set your head straight again, Loki looked around, stepping more into the view of the centre. You too step out to look around and spot a coffee shop you regular.
“Do you want something to drink?”
You say turning your head over towards Loki.
“I shall follow wherever you decide is best for us to go.”
You both had made your way into the coffee shop. As you ordered a mochaccino for yourself, you looked over to suited man, wearing a face of slight confusion as he studied the menu board.
“Do you want anything?”
“Your Midgardian beverage names never fail to puzzle me.”
Pausing for a second continuing to study the board, he turned his head towards you.
“I think I’ll have what’s normal here.”
You order a normal coffee for him and as they got made, you found a small table close to the counter for the waitresses to see. You sit down and Loki soon follows. As you both take a seat you decided you wanted to ask something you were still curious about.
“So, you’ve got no idea why you were drawn to me? I’m not exactly anything special, especially to someone not even from here.”
He changed his focus from the café surroundings to you.
“I have this feeling towards you, I’m not too sure of it yet but, it’s something I would like to get an answer to also.”
You could tell he was thinking of something to say, and what came out was something you weren’t expecting to hear.
"What do you like to do?”
You had to stop yourself for a moment and questioned whether you had heard him right.
“Are you really asking me what my hobbies are?”
The waitress brings both of your drinks, as you thank her she sets them down on the table and smiles back to you.
“I don’t see the harm in asking?”
You look at his genuinely curious face, take a sip of your drink and sighed.
“It sounds stupid but, I have these worlds and all these people in my head. What I like to do is write them down and illustrate them before they disappear.”
You like to write stories and draw often, you wouldn’t say you were a pro at it, far from it really, but you really did enjoy bringing the worlds you had in your head to life.
“It doesn’t sound stupid at all. It somewhat makes sense, even though I had not spoken to you before, I had felt that you wanted to achieve something greater than yourself. Despite coming from Midgard and without an inch of power in you, you still try to make an impression.”
Looking towards him with, what you think, is an obvious look of overwhelming. You had always wanted to do something with your life, something that would change everything, and he got that from just looking and you?
“I think I know why I’ve been drawn to you, <y/n>. I’m here to help you, to make sure you are not forgotten.”
