main lighthouse


Metamorphic rocks at Pemaquid Point, Maine - smashed in-between island arcs and the rest of North America a few hundred million years ago.

Just got to the coast of Maine, near Southwest Harbor… this is the classic Bass Harbor Lighthouse… it stormed all the way across Vermont, New Hampshire and into Maine… finally, in the evening the weather settled down; however the Lighthouse and surrounding sea were enshrouded in fog… nevertheless, Parker (my tripod bearer) and I climbed down below the Lighthouse and grabbed a shot off the tripod to try to cut through the fog… next time, more sea in the image, but here is the first shot I took in Maine this evening…
