magickal children

A Child's Protection Sachet

You will need the following items for this spell:

  • White cloth (such as cotton handkerchief)
  • a few strands of loose dog hair
  • a strand or 2 of your hair(one
  • or both parents)
  • picture of your child
  • any protection herb of your
  • liking
  • black yarn or thread

Place the picture of your child on the cloth along with your hair, the dog hair and a sprinkle of the herb. Bring up the corners and tie it with the string, all the while focusing on protecting your child.
You can place the sachet on your altar, or place it n your child’s room, or even have your child carry it with them.

Childhood Magick

I just read a post about childhood magick from @death-witch-envy and let me just say, I don’t feel like this is talked about enough. I’m not talking about those people who’s moms or other relatives grew up teaching their children magick (although those are still great, I see it quite a bit). I’m talking about those kids that were witches before they knew it.

Think of those kids that just randomly pick up rocks every time they go out.

Or those other kids who just have some weird knack for finding little lizard skeletons or perfectly preserved bugs.

Or maybe you have a little one who just screams and screams one day for no reason before you go to work, just to find out that they delayed you just enough to miss a huge car crash that you most likely would have been involved in.

GIVE ME EXAMPLES OF YOURSELF OR YOUR KIDS, GUYS

Getting Children Involved in Magick

(Maybe collect souvenirs like pine cones, flowers to press, branches to make wands or staffs.)

* Pine Cone Bird Feeders

* Planting a Garden

* Learning to identify herbs

* Read! (Fairytales, science books, mythology, books written by pagans. Read!)

* Collect Rocks

* Learn about local wildlife

* Meditate

* Collect Seashells

* Print out black and white tarot card coloring pages

* cooking/baking

* leave out offerings

* sigils

*tea parties (tasseomancy optional)

* Gumball Machine Talismans

*making pendants out of clay with sigils, runes, etc.

*writing a BoS together

*learning basic herbal uses

*making soaps, salves, candles

*** May add more later.

My child is under one and well, children love sticks. I use it as a wand and say “ bless you.”

~THE BASIC TOOLS OF A WITCH~
**tools do not need to be used but make casting easer and this is not a complete list, as different paths have there own lists.

THE CHALICE
the chalice is often made of silver, tho it can be made of any material. It is associated with water, and feminine energies.

THE CAULDRON
A tool of fire, often used to burn offerings , fire magic, or mixing potions. Many use cast iron cauldrons as cooking vessels.

DOWSING RODS
A divination tool often used to find lost objects or find underground water for well making.

MAGICAL JOURNAL
A magical journal often called a book of shadows due to pop culture , often used to keep a log of magical experiences, practices and recipes.
Many believe the power of the written word, I personally believe that there’s more power in writing down it all by hand. You can use you book any way you want and name it what you want. It’s supposed to be personal and over the years you may have a series of books written by you.

THE WAND
A can be made with a verity of materials as well, many use certain woods and crystals while others use copper. They have masculine energies and considered tools of fire/ air. They are used to direct magical energies.
WILLOW: lunar magic
OAK: fire magic
APPLE: love magic
To name a few woods and magical uses.
THE ATHAME
A double sided blade that is never to be used to cut any physical surface. The Athame is usually considered to be a tool of air/fire. Used to direct energy , it is masculine
THE BESOM
A broomstick it combines both masculine and feminine energies, used to “sweep away unwanted energies” never to be used for mundane but only for the magical, or else you risk loosing any magical power stores in it.
THE SMOKE FAN
Used to move magical energies in a space, a tool of air as it can be used in combination with sage for a cleansing ritual.

~BASIC TOOL CONSECRATION~
Prior to consecration I rub the wand with fresh lavender ,eucalyptus or mint leaves.
When I consecrate my tools I hold the tool (wand) in my hand and visualize it absorbing my energies, then I purify the tool( wand) from its old energies with the elements , I choose to use the smoke method. While I smoke cleanse the wand I usually say aloud a blessing of the elements.
Elemental blessing:
I HOLD IN MY HANDS THE (tool), WHICH I DEDICATE AS A TOOL OF THE (name of element) ELEMENT. I DEDICATE IT TO POSITIVE USES AS I WALK THE PATH OF THE WISE

This is my will, so mote it be!

-Dismissal of the elements
Earth, Water ,fire and Air
Elements both strong and fair,
Return to your abodes now; Flee!
This is my will, so mote it be!

Centering ritual
To be centered means it balanced physically spiritually and then all the set-top bodies as well this concept is a bit intangible most simply know the feeling when we reach it. to use stones to aid centering like those Used in meditation ,stimulate the mind and is recommended for spirituality clear fluorite is a good choice for this task, and restaurants are that are good for both sending and grounding hold the stone hearthstones while the meditate practice breathing exercises are use this out and like music or bells you can also gaze at the stones and practice centering this way in addition using prayer beads can help one become centered and focused.
Chant:
Body mind and spirit now align
center focus on this goal of mine
subtile bodies balance to the core
clear and strong I’m ready to explore
-Chan can help create a sense of connectedness
To the sky spirit , rise
with my voice Lift my eyes,
see the sun, moon, and stars
touch them all, mine and ours

Grounding ritual
You’re well grounded you’re cleared of excess energy you’re probably connected so any excess energy flows to their lack of grounding during Ritual is Dangerous, there are symptoms and nervousness ,short temper, fatigue ,illness other symptoms may be exhausted at your immune system my weekend so that should does may include dizziness and unbalanced feeling ,being confused ,chakra balances and chakra energy disturbances in the aura or subtle bodies.
Select stones to ground and think heavy especially talk Ors Load Stone Scalia and Hematite, bronze and Brett are less commonly used that are both heavy and also good choices aground. Dark Colors like black tourmaline, smoky quartz and Onyx can also be used. experiment, with everyone to fill which one works for you. hold the stone your hand cupping one palm over the other. Popular visualization for grounding it’s imagine yourself as a tree roots digging into the soil, you can also visualize yourself a stone.
Chant:
To The ground I am bound
see my roots reaching down
to the weight of the stone
one with earth, flesh and bone

chapter 2: correspondences.

Although correspondences can be more of a Wiccan tradition (though I’ve seen correspondences in other witchcraft traditions), I personally feel they are important as each correspondence holds a specific energy having to do with what you’re using it for. Several correspondences in witchcraft are: moon phases, colors, crystals, and herbs.

☽ Moon Phases ☾

There are nine phases of the moon: new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, last quarter, waning crescent, and dark moon.

The new moon is the period after the dark moon, which will eventually grow into the waxing moon. It’s magickal correspondences are: new beginnings, growth, renewal, beauty, love, jobs, networking and creativity.
The waxing crescent moon is the period after the new moon, which will eventually grow into the first quarter moon. It’s magickal correspondences are: animals, business, change, choice, freedom, initiations, individualization, new ideas, challenge to status quo, rebellions, and warrior aspect.

The first quarter moon is the period after the waxing crescent moon, which will eventually grow into the waxing gibbous moon. It’s magickal correspondences are: balance, beginnings, health, healing, courage, elemental magick, friends, love, luck, wealth, fertility, and psychic powers.

The waxing gibbous moon is the period after the first quarter moon, which will eventually grow into the full moon. It’s magickal correspondences are: increase, analysis, evaluation, courage, patience, peace, harmony, fruition, and completion.

The full moon is the period after the waxing moon, which will eventually diminish into the waning moon. It’s magickal correspondences are: fruition, protection, divination, love, children, decisions, dreams, legal matters, ovulation, fertilization, pregnancy, lust, and life.

The waning gibbous moon is the period after the full moon, which will eventually diminish into the last quarter moon. It’s magickal correspondences are: to remove bad habits or addictions, divorce, protection, banishing, knowledge and teaching.

The last quarter moon is the period after the waning gibbous moon, which will eventually diminish into the waning crescent moon. It’s magickal correspondences are: banishing, removing illnesses, destruction, releasing, wisdom, and the underworld.

The waning crescent moon is the period after the last quarter moon, which will eventually diminish into the dark moon. It’s magickal correspondences are: releasing addictions and obsessions, change, justice, quarrels, death, reincarnation, and destiny.

The dark moon is the period after the waning crescent moon, which will eventually grow into the new moon. It’s magickal correspondences are: rest, meditation, dreams, divination, sleep, visions, and magick.

Your light is seen. Your heart is known. Your soul is cherished by more people than you might imagine. If you knew how many others have been touched in wonderful ways by you, you would be astonished. If you knew how many people feel so much for you, you would be shocked. You are far more wonderful than you think you are. Rest with that. Rest easy with that. Breathe again. You are doing fine. More than fine. Better than fine. You’re doing great. So relax. And love yourself today.

A work story.

I work in the mental health field, primarily with children and families. Last week, a Mother (I use this term loosely) lied to me and others about what is unfolding in her home and essentially fired me from seeing her children because I knew too much information. She screamed at me over the phone then hung up without giving me any chance to talk.

This devastated me because of my genuine concern over the well-being of the children and my now inability to advocate for them. I was mainly angry at the Mother for lying and her calculated decision to take me off the children’s cases. I spent last Wednesday night crying and thinking to myself “Let me see her one more time. Let me stare her down and show her she did not get to me and that I know what she is: a manipulative liar.”

Today, I had my chance to do just that. As I was walking out of my office to the file room to get a client’s chart, this Mother was leaving her own therapy session. We came out into the hall at the same time. Out of being surprised, I jumped a bit when I saw her. Then…then I stared right into her eyes and thought rather strongly “I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE. YOU WILL PAY FOR THE MISERY YOU CAUSE OTHERS, INCLUDING DEFENSELESS CHILDREN. YOU WILL SUFFER AS YOUR WORLD CRASHES AROUND YOU AND YOU WILL HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF”. The intensity of my stare must have overwhelmed her because she looked right down to the floor of the hall, frozen in place. I stared for several more seconds, straightened my back out, and walked away towards the filing room without saying a single word to her. I didn’t look back.

I consider this magick. I consider what I did witchcraft. I used my energy and body to convey an intention towards someone who wronged me and continues to wrong others without anyone having an ability to hold her accountable because she knows how to manipulate the system. I consider this a curse delivered towards someone who is and continues to be abusive.

Today, I truly felt like a witch.

It felt incredible.
