So, fast-forwarding eight years from the day Harry met Louis, he is now a twenty-seven year old owner of one of the most up-and-coming eating establishments on the London restaurant scene, father of two wonderful boys and… separated from his husband. Now, that last part definitely was never a part of the original plan.

Or, Harry and Louis are separated, but for the sake of their two sons, they choose to spend Christmas together. It may just lead to a Christmas miracle.

“Um…” Harry said slowly after a moment. “Okay. That’s… this is… Let me get this straight.” He lifted up a hand and swallowed. “You told your family that you have a boyfriend… and my name was the first one you thought of?”

“Harry Potter was on TV, alright? It wasn’t that much of a stretch.” Louis pinched the bridge of his nose. He couldn’t believe he was explaining himself to Harry fucking Styles. He couldn’t believe he was stooping this low. “Forget it. I’m sorry I even thought about bringing you into this.”

Harry snorted. “What? Did you want me to pretend to be your boyfriend or something?”

Yet in Thy Dark Streets Shineth by juliusschmidt (57k)

Louis’ life has become the very thing he’s always dreaded: routine. His job is steady, his bills are paid, his friends are preoccupied, his siblings are mostly old enough not to need him, and his mom keeps pestering him about attending church. Apparently, the new minister pulls rainbows and unicorns out of his robes.

Advent arrives three months into Harry’s first call as associate pastor at St. Andrews. Life is… not perfect. He’s still figuring out how do his job and the holidays bring a whole bundle of extra stress. On top of which, he has no friends or family nearby with whom he can decompress. Louis Tomlinson shows up to worship in the nick of time.

Kiss me and the spell breaks
@pauouo asked: Hey again :v i love your art omg <3 And i was thinking, could you do some merthur with donkey Arthur? It would be so cute i think, i dont know, i love your draws<3

Drabble idea: Angus grows up and has a child.

It’s a little girl, and this baby is the fucking apple of Taako’s eye.

He showers her with affection and gifts. He gives her ridiculous nicknames. He pontificates over her bright and glorious future and coos about how smart she will be and how many esteemed magic and science awards she will one day win. Every time Angus comes over to visit, Taako just stands by the door making huffy noises and doing a grabby hands motion until Angus sighs and hands her over. He sits her on his lap and makes magic sparkles appear in front of her and gives her tastes of frosting off of the cake they’re having and basically does everything a baby’s favorite person in the world SHOULD do.

So Taako is eternally salty that Kravitz is the baby’s favorite and pretty much has been from day one.

You can pry the idea that magic leaves physical trace on people in the form of glitter out of my cold dead hands

Wizards who are fond of wands mostly end up with finger tips so heavy with this magic that they appear as a solid metallic surface
Warlocks who speak with gods have drool that looks like the heavens are melting out of their mouths
Sorcerers who were born with eyes that resembles geode crystals

Then there are those who use magic as a second ability
Clerics seem to leave trails of glitter where ever they go, sometimes it subtle and sometimes the path remains for years after they’re gone as if the stars in the sky fell to the earth in the wake of the cleric’s journey
Bards who begin to shine from the inside, no matter their race, as if they too have molten cores

Give me magic that makes a mark!

The Scarf, cont’d.

(Part 1)

More from the fiber witch!Dex ‘verse, since it got so much interest. Honestly, this could have been even longer, but this part hit 4k and got to a nice endpoint (and I’ve been working on it all week), so I’m cutting off here… for now. I even went so far as to download pictures off my real camera for the first time in months just to illustrate this.

But y’all. There’s kissing. I mean, it’s me, so it’s still entirely T, but kissing. Don’t say I never did anything for you.

“Are you sure about this?” Nursey asked.

Dex looked up from the weird new binding off he was trying to do on the pair of fingerless gloves currently on his needles. “Yes? I invited you to come, and I meant it.”

“…’kay,” Nursey said, but in a tone that had Dex rolling his eyes and setting the whole mess of glove and needles to the side so he could roll forward on his knees and really look at Nursey where he was sitting on the floor in front of Dex’s bed.

“Do you not want to go?”

Nursey kept playing with the ridiculous kid’s potholder loom Dex had bought him at a craft store when he accidentally unwound one ball of yarn too many going through Dex’s stash. “No, I do.”

“But?”

“But you don’t really talk about your hometown that much, and I’m, like, worried? I guess? Because I know it’s a small town, and I know you don’t really think about it, but I’m gonna kinda… stick out. And I didn’t know if you were starting to regret asking me.”

Dex blinked. “Oh. No, that’s not going to be a problem. I swear to you, they have seen black people in Maine before. But, um, there is probably something I should talk to you about.” He settled back on the bed nervously. “Can you… can you come sit up here so I can see you when I tell you this?”

Nursey put the loom down and moved to sit cross-legged on the bed facing Dex. Dex could see him letting his whole “chill” thing take over and knew he must be freaking Nursey out, so he just took a breath and plunged into it.

“So, yes, my town is different. But not like you think. It’s not that I don’t talk about it because I’m ashamed or anything. It’s just… hard to explain.” The string he always carried in his pocket had made its way into his hand, and he wove his fingers through it nervously. “We’re witches.”

A little thing I’ve been thinking about lately: Dorian’s comment that Felix was “a better man, clearly; not nearly as handsome.” It’s interesting - so many narratives have this idea of a character thinking they’re plain or ugly and that being part of general low self-esteem, because it’s taken as a value judgement. (It seems to come up a lot more in narratives written by women, depressingly, but that’s a whole other meta.) It’s an easy shorthand for “this character has self-worth issues.”

Dorian’s character writing swerves that. He knows he’s handsome. It was something valued in Tevinter, both as part of the casual sex he alludes to and as a status thing in general - part of that “perfect body, perfect mind” idea; it’s certainly easier to get your perfectly-distilled mageling kid married off if they’re nice to look at. What he’s worried about is that there’s nothing of worth on the inside. Look at his touched surprise and the way he doesn’t know how to respond when he’s called “a better man then he gives himself credit for” or “brave” - those are what get him, not the more obvious, easy compliments. He jokes to the Inquisitor about being “but an adornment upon your arm” - and that’s exactly what worries him.

Other characters call him arrogant, and eh, maybe, but only about particular things. The obvious things he can take pride in, that his peers back in the Imperium were bothered about - his appearance, his magical prowess - then sure. That’s how he’s used to playing the Game. But he’s constantly trying to work out what he is without those and without Tevinter ideas of status, and trying to live up to his own ideals and principles the way his father and Alexius ultimately couldn’t (”What’s in your heart” indeed). He’s trying, constantly, to approach people without ulterior motives and game-playing - look at how he says he’s had few friends (with the clear implication he wishes it were otherwise), look at his banters with other companions and the way he tries to level with them, and look at his general hatred of deception and politics and… well, everything about the Winter Palace.

He’s got everything to prove - and he says that in a barely veiled way when he talks about wanting to show that “not everything from Tevinter is terrible.” He’s constantly trying to prove to himself and everybody else that he’s moral, that he has integrity, that he’s worthy of love (platonic or otherwise - look how pleased he is and how hard he tries to impress, to endear himself, when he’s making friends with the Inquisitor, never mind when he’s romanced, because he’s been rejected so many times that he’s startled and disbelieving when it doesn’t happen). That’s because on some level, he’s worried about these things.

He may strut and show off - after all, “Pavus” means “peacock” - but arrogant? Not exactly, if you know what to look for.

(Revised Prompt): Miraculous Ladybug, "So you're saying in a class of over a dozen people NO ONE CAN AGREE ON WHAT LADYBUG AND CHAT NOIR LOOK LIKE?!"

“So you’re saying in a class of over a dozen people NO ONE CAN AGREE ON WHAT LADYBUG AND CHAT NOIR LOOK LIKE?!” Kim bellowed.

Marinette face planted against her desk and groaned. Tikki hadn’t been kidding about her identity being protected by magic.

“Listen,” Chloe screeched above the din, “I’ve been rescued by her the most and I am telling you her hair is shoulder length and slightly wavy no matter what little miss blogs-a-lot says!”

“You also said she is taller than you, so clearly your opinion is worth nothing,” Alya shouted back.

“All the people I like are taller than me,” Chloe retorted, “isn’t that right Adrikins?”

“Please leave me out of this,” Adrien said. So far he was the only other person in the room who looked just as miserable about this class squabble as Marinette felt. His head was cradled against is crossed arms as he stared listlessly towards the door as if wondering if he could make a run for it. She could kiss him for that. Not that she wouldn’t take any excuse to kiss him. Maybe she should suggest they both sneak of somewhere to make out while their classmates argued. Marinette smiled at the daydream. As if she could ever actually pull off something so bold where Adrien was concerned.

“This is stupid,” Kim complained “we have photos we should know every detail about what they look like.”

“I’m pretty sure there is some sort of magical element that keeps us from properly retaining the information in a way that might jeopardize their identities,” Max theorized.

“If Ladybug had magic power over her appearance you would think she would have attempted to look more attractive,” Lila said flicking her hair behind her shoulder. “Instead she is such a short thing with dull black hair and beady dark little eyes.”

The class burst out into another round of shouting as Chloe and Alya both attempted to dive atop the Italian girl, only barely being held back by Kim and Nino.

Marinette wondered briefly if anyone would care if she just threw herself out the window. She was about to attempt to sneak off to the bathroom when she heard Adrien talking quietly to himself.

“Blue,” he murmured softly.

Marinette’s breath caught in her throat.

“Her eyes are blue.”
