magic lost trouble found

Fingers crossed

I’m reading a book. (I know, surprise!) And I really like it.

A lot.

And I’m waiting with baited breath to see if it will keep being good, or if it will somehow find its way to suckyland, which is a place too many of my recent books have shown me to.

I have high hopes, though. The book is Magic Lost, Trouble Found by Lisa Shearin. I was in the mood for a fantasy starring a kick-ass heroine, and I seem to have found it. Raine is smart–and I don’t just mean she figures things out quickly, she knows how to ask for help when she needs it. She also doesn’t go wandering into enemy traps on purpose, unlike some other heroines I could name. She’s capable, she’s funny, and she cares about the people close to her. The best part? The book is written really well. That’s kind of crucial.

Anyway, I hope I’m not setting myself up for disappointment. Especially now that I’ve blogged about it. I’ll let you guys know what I think when I finish (because I’m sure you care a lot).

I hope I’ve discovered a new series I can latch on to.
