c.1906//2015 → Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten is mesmerised by his mother Crown Princess Margaret’s necklace. Over 100 years later, his great-granddaughter Princess Leonore seems to share the fascination with mummy’s jewellery.

Thank you to @kronprinsessandaisy for the original photo of Gustaf Adolf.

I know this is basically impossible to answer, but if you had to make one criticism of Victoria what would it be? And Daniel? Madeleine? And finally the entire Swedish royal family as a whole? I'd love to get your input because you're very fair and logical about these matters! Thanks!

Thank you :) That’s lovely!

I honestly can’t think of a criticism of Victoria! I think she’s wonderful. The only criticism I’ve read about her was after the Tsunami hit Indonesia in 2004. Sweden lost over 500 people in the disaster which happened on Boxing Day. Victoria was on holiday at the time in Africa and people struggled to get hold of her so she didn’t get back to Sweden for a few days. The rest of the family attended a service and she wasn’t present which attracted criticism. But she returned as quickly as she could and then personally requested to visit projects on the ground in Indonesia a few months later! I guess I find it irritating how fit she is but that’s not really a criticism and more just jealousy haha. As you say, it’s almost impossible to criticise her!

For Daniel, he can seem a little closed off. He knows Victoria is the future Queen but he still resisted the media for years. He is really trying now but he still has a little way to go in becoming natural with the press the way Victoria is. He always lets her take the lead which makes sense as she’s the blood royal and future monarch, but sometimes we want to hear from him too!

For Madeleine, I think she is out of touch with the public. Sometimes I want to shake her! They bent the rules to give her kids titles and keep them in the line of succession without moving back to Sweden, Madeleine only does a tiny number of engagements, her profile for Childhood has reduced publicly (even though it’s still high in private), and she has refused to talk to the press on numerous occasions. I don’t personally mind those things but the Swedes are getting fed up! They see her as taking the privileges without actually working and they really aren’t keen about her living out of Sweden with her children. I think she needs to realise how serious it is. She doesn’t recognise that being a royal relies on public approval.
