Lace, a new personal illustration! This was one of those times I just got an image stuck in my head and had to see it through. Sort of a compulsive exercise in how many little leaves I can draw. I was inspired by a photo I saw on tumblr of some detailed & delicate vintage lace wedding gowns.
(I do not own that last photo! It was just my inspiration!)
I am so thrilled to share the book cover I illustrated for the new novel, After Alice by Gregory Maguire, the author of Wicked! This story is inspired by the magical and strange world of Alice in Wonderland.
I am totally delighted to be included in the newest issue of Nobrow, #9. This issue is really stunning and features some of my favorite working illustrators! The theme is “It’s oh so quiet,” and I interpreted this through a series of portraits of curious quiet characters. Go get one!
One of my illustrations in the current Love/Lust issue of Bitch Magazine. Art Directed by the wonderful Kristin Rogers Brown. This illustration was created using pencil and digital, and was for an article written by Kate Larking about digital book selling suppressing self published erotica.
This is my flower for Tabitha for the project Blooms of Nigeria. 180 women artists and illustrators are creating a flower for each of the 180 names of kidnapped girls that have been released to the public. Nearly 300 girls are still missing. Please follow the tumblr here: http://bloomsofnigeria.tumblr.com
I worked with Anthropologie and The Hudson Valley Seed Library to design these 3 seed packets for Sweet Basil, Lemon Balm, and English Thyme. There was a cocktail theme. I had a lot of fun playing with lettering and color! The packs are available on the Anthropologie website.
