Tea Dancing (c.1920). Mabel Frances Layng (English, 1881–1937).

Layng’s paintings show scenes of everyday life in London during the years between the First World War and 1930. She exhibited at the Royal Academy & other galleries between 1916-1928. She follows women as they shop, visit the milliner, sew, meet at the cafe, dance, make music, and, of course, take tea together.
