Oooookay. First off, that whole Balem, Eddie, reader and Newt lunchroom exchange was the best thing ever. Annnnnd I totally forgot you named Newt's sugarlider Jacob. I laughed when my mind conjured up a legit image of a sugarglider and then Jacob Kowalski's head on it XD lol! Girl, you are just slaying it with these series! xx And that Stephen scene :D Yes pleaseeee
Thank you for the feedback! 💗 You’re one of the few who leaves me some, and I adore you for it. Truly.
And yesssss, I’m going to now visualize Jacob like that lol It’s perfect. A new creature haha. I’m so happy you enjoyed this chapter!!!
okay listen, lance? he had the biggest celebrity crush on shiro for the longest time and these are my hc’s about this:
i fully believe that mr. takashi shirogane was the “face” of the garrison, and that during his career he was roped into more than one recruitment video, with all the dramatic music and cinematic shots of pilots standing next to their fighter jets
someone: hey lance! your mans is on tv!
lance: [dropping whatever the hell he’s doing] press pause! press pause! i’m on my way!!!!
his siblings got into the habit of just shouting that even when the commercial wasn’t on because they liked recording his reaction time. the fastest he’s gotten there is six seconds (he was upstairs)
listen, lance isn’t naive. he knows that shiro is the best the garrison has to offer and he’s going into the cargo pilot program so he’s probably never going to see him, but still they’re in the same place:
lance: [at orientation] shiro…he walked through these halls, he ate in this lunchroom, i’m breathing blessed air
the one time lance almost gets caught sneaking out is because he couldn’t help peaking through the windows of the teacher’s lounge to see if maybe shiro was there
he was. and because shiro’s a legend he immediately picks up on the fact that he’s being stared at and then he catches lance’s eyes. lance just freezes, because shit…..but then shiro just sips his coffee and pointedly looks away because you know damn well he’s snuck out his fair share of times when he was a cadet
shiro: [in keith’s shack after being rescued] lance right?
lance: [internally: he knows my name? HE KNOWS MY NAME!]
later in the castle, after they’ve all gotten to know each other, after they’ve become a family:
hunk: hey lance do you remember when you liked shiro?
keith: wait what? you liked shiro [cue the face of disgust at the thought of anyone liking his brother]
lance: [defensively] i didn’t like him, it was just a stupid celebrity crush. i’m over it now
Prompt - AU where Peter is a high school AP Physics teacher and Y/N is the Anatomy teacher and all their students ship them but they’re too awkward to notice the other one crushing on them, so the students take it into their own hands.
Warning - some vulgar language. extreme cuteness. teen!Avengers :)))
A/N: btw the narration in this fic might seem a little salty, but that’s only cause I’m really salty right now about some stuff.

“Can you overgrown children give me like five minutes of peace?” She tells her overbearing students, they groan.
“But mom!” Her most annoying student shouted, she rolls her eyes at the boy. Her students had made a habit of calling her mom and it was by far very annoying.
“Tony, you call me mom one more damn time-”
“Ooh! She said damn, that’s a bad word!” Another one of her troublemaking students shouted from the back of the class.
“If it’s a bad word, then why would you say it, Barnes?” She retorted, the boy deflated and sat back down. His boyfriend, Steve, laughing and trying to comfort him as his classmates laughed.
“You guys are high school seniors. I did not sign up to be a teacher to babysit a bunch of five year olds,” she complained, everyone in the class knew she was joking. She was just as rowdy and annoying as they were, it’s why this particular class was her favorite.
“Come on, Ms. Y/L/N, you know you love us,” Natasha, a troublemaking redhead sitting with her feet up on the desk, said with a barely noticeable smirk on her face.
“No you’re wrong. You’re all terrible and I hate you,” Y/N lied as she took a sip from her cup of coffee that sat on top of a pile of papers.
“YOU LOVE US!” Screamed Tony and Clint at the same time, jumping up from their seats and running up to her desk to hug her.
She couldn’t hide her smile then. Sure they were all extremely annoying and loud, but then again so was she.
“Actually no. You know who she does love?” Natasha starts, a smirk rising on her face.
The whole class quiets for a few seconds before they all yell out.
A red blush rises on Y/N’s cheeks at the mention of the AP Physics and Calculus teacher, Peter Parker. She tried to deny it every single time, but her students knew better.
“Oh come on guys, not this again!” She whines, and throws her head in an exaggerated exasperated groan.
Ever since Peter had been hired as the new Physics teacher, the students almost immediately began ‘shipping’ them together. The two of them had became close friends in the blink of an eye seeing as they were both huge science nerds, their students saw this. Continuously teasing the both of them about their crushes. Both of them trying their best to deny, but neither of them could lie well enough to a bunch of teenagers who knew and understood the signs of a crush.
“We will bring this up as many times as we can until you guys realize that there’s some major amor going on,” Sam says from the far right row of the class, chewing on his mechanical pencil as he not so discreetly tried to finish his Spanish homework before the bell rang.
The class agreed with him.
“Alright fine, we’ll play it like that. How about I bring up the topic of your grades?” She laughs as the majority of the class starts to beg her not to continue.
“That’s what I thought!” She shouts, laughing loudly at the defeated faces of her students.
For the remainder of the class they reviewed the cardiovascular system for the test they were going to have next class.
The bell rings and the bustling students jumped around in excitement for lunch, “Bye Ms. Y/L/N!” they all shouted.
“Get out! Go to lunch!” She jokingly yells, they laugh and push each other out of the classroom.
Y/N smiles to herself and begins to grade papers from another class.
“Ms. Y/L/N?” She hears a voice say, she looks up and turns her head to see the only freshman student in her class full of seniors.
“Wanda, what are you still doing here? You should be at lunch,” she says in a concerned tone.
“I know but I have a test in European History that I have to study for, and I wanted to ask something of you,” she explains.
“Oh that’s right, I forgot, you have all senior classes. What can I help you with?”
“Could I get some extra credit or something to raise up my grade? I have a college interview in a few days and they’ll be looking at my grades,” the girl asks, clutching her history textbook in her hands.
“Wanda, you already have an A in this class…”
“Yeah, I know but it’s a 99% because of that B that I got on the quiz about the systemic and pulmonary circuits, I was distracted that day,” she wasn’t directly saying it but she was begging for another chance, and Y/N didn’t need any more pressing from her pleading student.
“Do you want to retake the quiz? I doubt you’ll get another B,” she offers, Wanda’s eyes light up.
“Yes please!” Y/N chuckles at the young girl's’ enthusiasm and rummages through some folders for an empty sheet of the specific quiz.
She finds it and hands it to Wanda who hurriedly grabs it and sits at the nearest desk. Wanda finishes the quiz in minutes before finally scribbling her name and class period on top. Y/N grades her paper in front of her, and to no one’s surprise, she got a perfect 100.
“Oh my god, what a surprise…” Y/N mumbles, Wanda giggles to herself.
The door opens and the two women turn to look at the door.
There Mr. Parker stood at the doorway holding a bag of food that smelled strongly of New York takeout, he saw Wanda standing in front of Y/N’s desk and blushed.
“Should I come back or…?” He trails off.
“No need Mr. Parker, I was just leaving. Thanks Ms. Y/L/N!” Wanda says as she begins to walk to the door.
Peter walks into the room and sets the food down on the desk. Y/N looks behind Peter to see Wanda giving her an enthusiastic thumbs up, then pointing at both Y/N and Peter and making a heart with her fingers. Y/N got up and removed her sneaker before chucking it at the girl, Wanda dodged it and quickly left the class.
Her unmistakable laughter bouncing off the walls of the hallway.
Y/N sat back down to see Peter looking at her weirdly. “What was that about?” He asked opening the container of takeout food, Y/N blushed immensely.
Wanda runs into the lunchroom in search of her friends, the seniors.
They sat in their usual table, eating away at the chicken wings that were being served today.
“Guys! Guys!” She shouts as she nears the table, they turn their heads to look at their freshman friend.
“Ms. Y/L/N and Mr. Parker are in her class right now eating lunch together! He bought her food!” She yells excitedly, the table gasps.
“Seriously?!” Natasha exclaims.
“We’re gonna go spy on them, right?” Clint asks, licking the ketchup off his fingers and wiping his hands on his pants.
They all snuck out of the lunchroom without getting caught and made their way to Ms. Y/L/N’s classroom. The door had a little rectangular window for them to see through, it wasn’t big enough for all of them but luckily Clint had special access to the school’s air ducts.
Especially the one in Ms. Y/LN’s classroom.
He unlocked his phone and FaceTimed Natasha and pointed the camera at the future couple. Outside of the classroom, the group crowded around Natasha and her phone. They all quieted down and watched the two awkwardest and nerdiest people in the world attempt to have a conversation without mentioning science and or Star Wars.
Both of them failing miserably.
They had somehow gotten into an incredibly deep conversation about Star Wars conspiracy theories.
“Oh my god, these fucking nerds!” Tony whispers, the rest of the group agrees.
“We gotta do something or they’re gonna spiral into a never ending conversation about Darth motherfucking Vader,” Steve says, Bucky nods agreeing with his hunky beefcake.
“Yeah, someone text Barnes and tell him to do something about this…whatever this is,” Bucky says waving his hand for emphasis.
Tony quickly pulls out his phone, his thumbs running over the screen in a blur. A few seconds later, his eyes read a message on the screen.
“He wrote, ‘On it ;)’.”
They all began to silently think of what Clint had in store for their two favorite teachers.
In the air duct, Clint quietly pulled two small rocks from his pocket. He had been planning on throwing them at some kid who messed with him earlier but this was more important.
The air duct he was hiding in was directly above Y/N’s desk but both her and Peter were facing away from him so this was the perfect opportunity.
“So I wanted to ask you something and excuse me if it makes you uncomfortable, but…do your students say anything about us…you know– uh, liking each other?” Peter asks, Y/N almost chokes on her teriyaki chicken but hides it with a strong cough.
“Ehh sometimes, why do you ask?” She lies straight through her teeth and hides her blush by looking down at her lap.
“Well, because-uh they’re always telling me that you…have a crush on me, and that apparently it’s pretty obvious…”
Her hands were now numb and she wanted to disintegrate into thin air.
‘No shit, you fucking idiot,’ she thought.
“Uhh well, I-I wouldn’t say obvious b-but, I mean-” she couldn’t think of anything to say and now she really wanted to die.
Clint couldn’t watch his favorite teacher suffer anymore so he slowly and quietly opens the air duct by removing the detachable air grille.
He throws the first rock at the door, the two teachers turn to the door thinking that someone had knocked. Y/N stands up to open the door, she looks through the little window but when she sees no one she turns back.
Then, Clint throws the second rock right into Peter’s shirt causing him to stand up and spill chicken fried rice covered in soy sauce all down Y/N’s t-shirt.
“Oh shit, fuck! I’m sorry!” He exclaimed trying to apologize.
He grabbed a few napkins and tried to wipe off the soy sauce stains but only making it worse.
“No, i-it’s fine it-”
“I’m so sorry, I-I didn’t mean-”
Both were too flustered to let one another finish their sentence. By now Peter wasn’t wiping anything except for her chest, it took a few seconds for both of them to notice exactly what he was touching.
The blushing idiots finally decided to pull away from each other, and chuckle nervously at their current situation.
“Come on, come on.” Natasha mumbles under her breath as her and the group continue to watch from her phone.
Y/N and Peter were now pretending that the whole thing didn’t happen but the stain on Y/N’s light gray shirt said otherwise. Finally, the two of them mustered up enough confidence to actually say something intelligent.
“Would you like to go out sometime?” They asked simultaneously.
They both chuckle nervously, “I know it’s not the best time to ask, but…I-I’ve been meaning to ask you for a while and I just didn’t know if you…”
She smiles, “Well I do, and I’d love to go out with you.”
At that moment, the group started cheering completely forgetting that the hallway echoed.
“Yes OTP!” Sam shouts, almost immediately slapping his hand over his mouth.
“What the hell?” Y/N mumbles and walks over to the door, seeing their teachers walk toward them the entire group got up and hauled ass back to the lunchroom, the sound of shoes squeaking and stomping on the floor along with the loud swears coming from the teenagers themselves could be heard from inside the classroom.
Clint watching them run on his phone cursed out loud, “Shit!” he said, his eyes widened.
Both Peter and Y/N turned to the vent, “Wha-Clint!” Y/N yelled when she realized what was happening.
There was no point in being quiet now, Clint shimmied down the vent before his teacher crawled in after him.
Peter and Y/N stood there helpless.
“I’m gonna kill them.”
The next day when the matchmakers walked into Calculus, a class that Peter taught, they all sat next to each other. Being the only people in the school that knew that the two teachers that everyone has been shipping were finally together had its advantages. They’ve been trading test answers for gossip all morning.
The school was bustling with the news.
Y/N Y/L/N and Peter Parker were finally together.
Even Principal Fury and Assistant Principal Hill were excited about it.
When Peter sees them sitting innocently in their seats, he turns to them.
“I don’t know whether to say thank you or goodbye, she was pretty angry.”
“Ah, she’ll get over it once you give her that good nerd loving,” Sam jokes, Peter blushes and a tries to hide a very noticeable smile.
“Ew dude, that’s our mom you’re talking about,” Tony says.
Clint perks up.
“Speaking of mom, we’re not calling you dad.”
A/N: I had way too much fun with this. This was mostly about the teen!Avengers, but honestly I live for that AU.
A/N: i didn’t proof read it, I’m sorry. And sorry if you’re allergic to roses
Y/N sat with Liz in the lunchroom , hearing their friends talking about Spider-Man once again. “He brings hope to the city. It’s like, we know that someone is looking out for us.” One of them said. Y/N thought about all the things the man has done for the city. I wonder if his life is good, if he’s happy in his real life, Y/N thought.
The topic was quickly changed when an announcement for Homecoming was made over the blaring intercom. “Students, don’t forget to buy your tickets for Homecoming next Friday.” The voice boomed, making all of the students start talking about the event.
Liz turned to Y/N, “So,” she said taking a bite from her food, “who are you going to the dance with?” All of their friends tuned in to what the two girls were saying.
Y/N shrugged her shoulders. She wanted to go with Peter Parker, the smartest kid at Midtown High, if she went in the first place. Homecoming is going to be crowded and loud, with a bunch of annoying kids. Y/N didn’t want that. “I don’t think I’m going, actually. I’m probably gonna spend my night watching TV or something.” Y/N said, shaking her head like it was nothing.
“But Y/N,” one of her friends said enthusiastically, “You have to go! Peter is probably going, you should too!” She nodded her head behind Y/N. Y/N looked behind her to see Peter and Ned eating their lunch a few tables away. But he’s going to be dancing and hanging out with a girl that isn’t me, she thought.
Y/N smiled, “As much as I would love to go with him, it’s not gonna happen. He’s probably taking a super pretty girl with him and he’ll have a blast. Just,” she trailed off, starting to get quieter,“just not with me.” Y/N sighed, slumping her shoulders. Liz looked over at her giving her a sympathetic smile. “If you don’t want to go, you don’t have to. It would be nice if you went though.”
Y/N returned the smile, “Thanks for understanding Liz.” Liz nodded her head, “Anytime.” She gave her attention back to her friends to hear the rest of their thoughts.
Peter Parker sat a few tables away, having the same conversation that Y/N was having. “Are you going to ask her to Homecoming?” Ned asked Peter looked at his friend as if he was crazy. “W-What? No. Never. I can barely form a sentence around her, let alone ask her out.” Peter said as he gazed down at his lap. He looked back up to her, admiring her from behind. Y/N turned around and Peter quickly looked away and muttered “Oh God.”
Ned looked confused at the teenager. Peter’s face was beet red, “I think she saw me. Oh God,oh God, she saw me staring at her man.”
Ned looked over at the girl who was now facing her friends talking. “I don’t think she did. Just breathe, she probably didn’t see. I mean you turned your head so fast that you might have whiplash.” He chuckled. Peter sighed, “Maybe you’re right.”
“Right about what?” Michelle asked as she reached the table with the two boys.
“Well, I asked Peter if he was asking Y/N to the dance and he started staring at her. She turned around and might’ve caught him.” Ned explained to the Michelle as she sat down. Peter hit Ned’s shoulder with the back of his hand, “Dude. Seriously?”
“What?” Ned asked, completely clueless at Peter’s new beacon of embarrassment. Before their bickering cold continue, Michelle started talking. “Actually, while I was walking over here, I heard that she wasn’t going. And I might’ve heard,” she stated trying to be dramatic, “that she was super bummed out that you were probably going with a different girl that isn’t her.”
Peter sat shocked. “You’re lying.” He said. There is no way that the girl he has had a crush on for years, is into him. Him of all people.
“I wouldn’t lie about true love, Parker.” Michelle replied, kind of mockingly.
“How are you going to ask her?” Ned asked. Peter was messing with the cuffs of her sleeves. “I-I don’t think I will.”
Ned looked shocked. “You have to. You finally have a chance to be with her.” Peter looked around, “I’m too scared. Besides, she said she didn’t want to go and I respect that.”
“Your loss,” Michelle said opening one of her books.
It was the Friday night of Homecoming and Y/N sat on her couch surrounded by her fluffy blankets, with a show paused on the TV screen and a water bottle in hand. She was on her phone talking to Liz, giving some advice for her outfit. “Should I wear the silver earrings I got for my birthday?” Liz asked. “Yeah, they match your dress very well.” Y/N replied, taking a sip of her drink.
“Y/N are you sure you don’t want to go? I might have an extra dress.” Liz asked, she didn’t want her friend to be alone while everyone else was having a blast.
“Yeah I’m sure. I’m fine with my TV shows and blankets. Go have fun!” Y/N stated, assuring the girl that everything would be fine. “You sure?” Liz asked, wanting to make sure her friend was okay.
“100%.” Y/N replied with a smile on her fave that she knew Liz couldn’t see. “Alright, I have to go. My date is here. If you need anything call me.” Liz said, while Y/N heard shuffling in the background. “See you later Ms. Allen.” Y/N said chuckling to herself. “You too.”
Y/N sat on the cuddled into her blankets as she clicked play on her TV remote. As soon as the show started, there was knock on the front door. Y/N was confused, was it Liz? She got up to answer the door.
Y/N opened the door, do just her body was seen. She was greeted with the smiling yet nervous face of Peter Parker, holding a bouquet of red roses with a backpack on his back and a couple grocery bags filled with chips, candy and other snacks. Y/N stood in front of him, lips parted slightly.
“P-Peter. What are you doing here?” She asked with wide eyes. Peter glanced down at his old shoes. “I heard that you were, uh,” he looked back up at her, “I heard you were spending the night in on-on Homecoming so, I wanted to join you. If that’s okay.” He stammered biting his bottom lip.
Y/N smiled widely, opening the door all the way. “Come on in.” If it was anyone else at the door, she would’ve probably made up an excuse. But it wasn’t anyone else, it was her crush. Peter smiled back. He walked through the door, waiting for her to indicate where he could go.
Y/N shut the door and moved to face him. Peter looked at the flowers in his hand, “These are f-for you.” He handed you the flowers.
The girl smiled, “Thanks Pete.” She called me Pete, was all he could think about as Y/N went to put the flowers in a vase. She quickly came back after putting the vase in a good spot.
“You can sit down Peter.” Y/N said as he followed her to the couch.
“Seems like you were having a real party, huh?” Peter said sarcastically with a small smile on his lips, seeing the TV and her blankets. “What gave it away?” Y/N replied back with the same amount of sarcasm.
“I brought food.” Peter emptied out the two grocery bags with the snacks onto the couch between the two of them. Y/N smiled. Tonight was going to be fun.
Peter turned and looked at the clock to see it was one in the morning. All night was spent with him and Y/N getting to know each other, cracking jokes, and watching bad late night TV shows. It was like they had known each other for their entire lives. She fell asleep a while ago, her head resting on Peter’s chest, with a blanket wrapped securely around the pair. He sat there, playing with her hair, glad that he skipped Homecoming. Peter sighed contently, looking back up at the TV which now had the news on. A robbery at fifth and third. “Shit,” he muttered, moving Y/N off of his chest and onto the couch.
He dashed out her front door with only his backpack in hand, with his Spider-Man suit inside.
Y/N woke up 10 the next morning still on the couch, with all the snacks from last night littering the floor. It was fun hanging out with Peter. She was kind of happy that she didn’t spend Homecoming alone. She searched for her phone to check the time. Once she found the device she saw a text from Peter.
Hey, sorry I had to leave. My Aunt called me and said that I had to go back home. Maybe we can do this again sometime at my place?
Y/N smiled at the text. Maybe I can get the guy of my dreams, she thought as she typed a reply.
When I was in elementary school, I knew that gay people existed. Many people had told me it was wrong, but I knew they existed, I knew it was an option.
When I was in middle school, I knew that bisexual people existed. Many people had told me it was wrong, but I knew they existed, I knew it was an option.
Eighth grade rolled around and my friends started talking about how hot male celebrities were and I got this fuzzy feeling of confusion: I wasn’t attracted to them like I was supposed to be.
So there I was, thirteen years old at a lunchroom table, assuming the only orientations that existed were gay, straight, and bisexual. I wasn’t attracted to guys. I assumed I had to be gay.
And gay became an integral part of my personality. I created a tumblr, followed gay blogs, shipped girls together, I did everything I thought a gay girl was supposed to do.
Only, as the years passed, I felt less and less at home, because every time I saw a post about how hot a female celebrity was I got this fuzzy feeling of confusion: I wasn’t attracted to them like I was supposed to be.
But I ignored it. I was fifteen years old, laying in bed, scrolling through posts I didn’t fully identify with. The only options were gay, straight, and bisexual. And I wasn’t attracted to guys.
In sophomore year of high school, I came out as gay.
Over winter break, I spent a lot of time on the internet, feeling broken and confused. I was gay but I wasn’t attracted to girls. I scrolled through the lgbt tag, looking for an answer, and came upon a list of identities.
I found asexual and demisexual in it. Gay had been a huge part of my identity for two years. I grabbed demisexual and ran with it, because maybe, if I found the right person and got close enough, something would click.
It never did. As the school year flew by, I thought about asexuality more and more, and in early spring, I settled with it. It made me feel a little broken, but hey, I was still homoromantic, so I couldn’t be all that broken, could I?
By the summer between sophomore and junior year, I no longer felt broken. I still had a safe space in the queer community and I was loud and proud about who I was.
That same summer, I met a bisexual girl and an aroace girl, roommates at a summer program. My asexuality and homoromanticism became something I talked about often, an even bigger part of who I was.
Junior year of high school, a girl asked me on a date and I said yes. After all, I liked spending time with her and I wanted to be closer to her, that’s what romantic feelings were, or so I thought.
A month into the relationship I realized my feelings couldn’t be romantic. I liked cuddling with her and I liked talking to her, but I never wanted to kiss her. I never wanted to hold her hand.
I looked back, and I realized every single ‘crush’ I had was exactly like this. I wanted to cuddle and I wanted to be closer. I never wanted romance. I just wanted a stronger freindship.
It was terrifying. I felt so utterly broken and confused because if I wasn’t gay, who the hell was I? I remembered aromanticism and I talked to my aroace friend, and for the first time I truly identified with what was being said.
Despite this, I continued to feel broken. I found some aromantic blogs, and I sent anons, and I read the faqs, and day by day, I accepted myself more
But there was still something missing. The fandoms I had become a part of, the girls I still shipped, that hadn’t changed. What changed was the fact that suddenly I wasn’t welcome there.
Because my junior year is this year, and as I was finally feeling comfortable with myself, the discourse began. I am told that I’m basically straight, that I have no place in the community I have called my home for three years.
Maybe if that’s all it was, I would be able to brush it off as hate and reassure myself I was queer, that I wasn’t doing anything wrong.
But the thing is, I’m also being told that I’ve never experienced oppression, that I never felt like an outcast because of who I was.
And you’re partially correct, I have never felt like an outcast because of who I am. But every day I have felt like an outcast because of who I’m not.
Since I was old enough to talk I’ve been told I will have crushes. Since I was in middle school, I’ve been told by my parents it’s okay who I have crushes on, that if I like a girl it’s okay too.
But I’ve never been told it’s okay not to have a crush. In fact, during truth or dare, every time I said I didn’t have a crush people told me I was lying, and I learned to make them up.
Since I was in middle school, I’ve been told it’s perfectly normal to be sexually attracted to girls or guys or even both. All are normal.
But I’ve never been told it’s normal not to be sexually attracted to anybody. And so when I was lectured by adults on how I need to be careful when having sex, even if I’m really attracted to the person, I smiled and nodded, not bothering to correct them.
Since I joined tumblr, I’ve been flooded with posts about how it’s okay to love who you love. No matter who you’re attracted to you’re a valid individual. I never had to look to find these posts.
But I’ve never just stumbled across a post telling me it’s okay to not have crushes and it’s okay not to be attracted to anybody. I had to search those out by following ace and aro specific blogs.
So now I’d like to present to you the definition of oppression:
oppression [uh-presh-uh n] noun 1. the exercise of authority or power in a burdensome, cruel, or unjust manner. 2. an act or instance of oppressing or subjecting to cruel or unjust impositions or restraints. 3. the state of being oppressed. 4. the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, anxiety, etc.
And I dare you to tell me that I’ve never experienced oppression.
Dustin misses part of history class and needs to copy some notes and Will being the amazing friend he is hands over his notebook without a thought. Its only a few minutes later, Dustin is long gone and Will freezes, flashing back to the entire page of Mike's names covered in hearts and doodles of them kissing and holding hands and little Byers charges through the halls like a bull and practically tackles Dustin, the poor boys books sliding across the hall Dusting is cursing.
skfks OKAY I LOVED THIS SO MUCH I ACCIDENTALLY WROTE 1.9K WORDS ABOUT IT SORRY
Will doesn’t even think twice about handing over his notebook to Dustin when he asks. He’d missed the first thirty minutes of history class that morning for a dentist appointment, and he’s been waiting until the lunch hour to be able to borrow Will’s notes on westward expansion.
“You could have borrowed my notes,” Mike points out from where he’s sitting beside Will on the creaky bench of the cafeteria table.
Dustin makes a scoffing noise and raises his eyebrows skeptically.
“Mike, I’ve seen your chicken scratch. Will’s notes are like, fifty million times better than yours. He color codes them.”
Mike scrunches up his nose in distaste.
“My notes aren’t chicken scratch,” he protests half-heartedly, but he doesn’t bother disputing the fact that Will’s are objectively better. He knows he has no argument there.
“Anyway,” Dustin brushes Mike’s words off with a dismissive hand wave. “Thanks for this, Will. I owe you one.”
He places Will’s notebook carefully atop his own stack of books as Will shrugs easily and gives Dustin a small smile.
“No problem. But I definitely need it back before the end of the day. I’m sure Mrs. Hill is going to give us a pop quiz on all that stuff tomorrow.”
Dustin nods and finishes the sandwich he’s got in front of him in two huge bites, standing up from the bench before he’s even swallowed the last of it.
“I’m gonna go -,” he starts, but from across the table, Lucas cuts him off with an annoyed look.
“Stop talking with your mouth full!” he says, eyes narrowed and upper lip curled in disgust.
Will stifles a laugh as Dustin sticks his tongue out in Lucas’s direction - half-chewed sandwich and all - until Lucas throws a grape at him and tells him he’s revolting. Dustin just smiles with smug satisfaction and slowly, deliberately chews his last bite of food before opening his mouth to speak again.
“As I was saying,” he pauses to give a deliberate look in Lucas’s direction before turning back toward Will. “I’m gonna go to the library and copy down your notes now so you can have this baby back by the end of the day.”
He pats Will’s notebook like it’s some kind of precious goldmine and Will laughs.
“All right, Dustin. See you next period.”
All the boys say their goodbyes as Dustin gathers his books in his arms and makes his way out of the lunchroom. In the back of Will’s mind, something vague is picking at him - a persistent, nagging feeling that he’s forgotten something, but after briefly thinking on it, he still can’t figure out what.
He shrugs it off, distracted by the squeak-squish of tennis shoes on the scuffed linoleum and the snippets of too-loud conversations overlapping one another and echoing off the bare walls of the cafeteria. Across the table, Lucas is complaining about something Erica did last night and Will tunes himself into the story instead, laughing as Lucas regales them with the tale of his ridiculous little sister.
It’s not until a moment later - when Mike’s arm presses against his own in an accidental move (though he makes no motion to correct it), and Will’s heart does the same embarrassing, familiar fluttering dance in his chest that it always does when he’s near Mike, a pink flush creeping up over the tips of his ears - that Will remembers exactly what it is that he’s forgotten with sudden, sickening panic.
He doesn’t mean to speak the words out loud but they come out anyway, quiet and panicked, because he’s just made the kind of mistake that fills the pit of his stomach with a deep sense of horrifying dread: Will Byers has just handed Dustin a veritable confession of every feeling he’s ever had for Mike Wheeler, all conveniently placed in one spiral-bound notebook whose front page is filled with sketches and doodles and drawings composed secretly in crisp black ink.
And these are decidedly not the artistic endeavors that Will cares to share with his friends. No, these are furtive little pieces of his stupid, traitorous heart that his hand has spilled across the neat blue lines of college-ruled paper - drawings of Mike’s face with bubbly hearts all around it, doodles of Mike holding his hand, and, perhaps most embarrassingly, one tiny heart at the bottom of the page with the words Will Wheeler written in neat cursive inside it.
“Oh no,” Will repeats, louder this time, and Mike’s head immediately snaps up from where he’s poking at the food on his tray. Lucas also looks over at him curiously, eyebrows raised just the slightest.
They both ask, “what’s wrong?” in twin voices of concern, but Will’s already mumbled out some half-sentence about needing to go, hopping up from the table before they can question him again. Will rushes carelessly toward the cafeteria doors, running as fast as he can manage through the maze of tables and idling students around him.
In his periphery he can see Lucas and Mike clambering hurriedly up from the table as well, but Will keeps his eyes ahead.
“Mr. Byers, what do you think you’re -,”
A teacher tries to stop him with a hand on his shoulder but Will only moves faster, slipping easily out of her grip.
“Sorry,” he manages to blurt out as he rushes away from her.
He’ll be concerned about the ramifications of that later. Right now the only thing he can focus on is finding Dustin before he opens that stupid notebook. He hopes he hasn’t already made it to the library and looked at the damned thing. Will’s face burns hot with humiliation just thinking about it.
As he turns down the hall toward the library, his heart lifts as he spots Dustin just outside the library doors, Will’s notebook still balanced - unopened - in his arms.
“Dustin!” he calls out, voice echoing off the lockers lining the walls.
Dustin turns and looks up, surprised as Will comes barreling down the hallway toward him. Will realizes the second before it happens that he’s not going to be able to stop himself in time, the tread on his shoes wearing low, slip-sliding against the recently polished floor. He tries to slow himself down but his momentum propels him forward beyond his control.
“Dude, what -?”
The rest of Dustin’s sentence is stopped short as Will yells out, “I’m so sorry!” before he crashes directly, painfully, into him and both of them go tumbling to the floor in a tangled heap.
Dustin’s books slide haphazardly in every direction, spreading throughout the hallway. When he’s able to get his bearings enough to try to sit upright, Will thinks he’s definitely split his lip on the zipper of Dustin’s jacket, the tang of blood sitting sharp on his tongue as he slowly sits up.
“Jesus, Will!” Dustin groans out, disentangling their legs with a wince. “What was that all about?”
Before Will can find the words to respond, Lucas and Mike come rushing up behind them.
“Will!” Mike calls out, leaning down to place an arm around Will’s shoulders as he helps him up from the floor with careful, warm hands.
“Are you okay?”
He holds Will at arm’s length and looks him over for any visible injuries. His brow furrows harshly when he spots Will’s bleeding lip and he reaches out to press his thumb against it, gently wiping the blood away.
Will pulls back like he’s been burned, ducking his head as his heart does its best to climb out from behind the cage of his ribs.
“Mike, I’m fine,” he says.
From the floor, Dustin makes a grumpy noise in the back of his throat.
“Gee, I wonder if anyone’s going to ask how I’m doing, seeing how I was the one who was viciously attacked by the world’s smallest human battering ram over here.”
Will goes red as Lucas sighs long-sufferingly and says, “get up, you’re fine.”
Dustin makes a face in Lucas’s direction as Will extends his hand to help him up off the ground. He stutters out an apology in the process and he’s fairly certain Dustin tells him it’s okay, but Will is more than slightly distracted by the fact that he hasn’t been able to spot where the notebook went during their collision. He starts surveying the area around where they fell, hoping to find the thing so he can grab it and go already. He’s just about to check beneath the trophy display case across the hall when he’s hears Mike say, “Dustin, I got your - oh.”
Will turns quickly, something about the way Mike’s voice has gone strangely soft and confused setting off a fresh swell of panic in his chest. Across from him, Mike is standing with a couple of Dustin’s books in his hands. And right at the top of the stack, teetering just slightly off balance, is Will’s notebook looking slightly smashed, a little bent at the corners, and - opened to the very first page.
If it weren’t for the fact that his breath has gone too ragged and heavy to ignore, Will would swear his heart has stopped beating entirely in his chest. Mike catches Will’s eye without meaning to, face going pink beneath the smattering of freckles over his cheeks, and any hope Will has that Mike miraculously hasn’t seen the contents of that page flies right out the window.
He can feel the hot pricking of tears at the corners of his eyes as he marches forward to snatch the notebook from the top of the pile, immediately closing it with too much force. He can’t bring himself to look at Mike’s face as he does it, keeping his head down until he turns back around and begins the return trip to the lunch room.
“What the hell?” Dustin calls out and Will doesn’t bother to look back at his friends.
“I need it back,” is all he says, voice coming out hard and tinged with just a bit of sorrow.
Dustin’s protests are quickly quieted by Lucas telling him he can just borrow his notes instead, and they let Will walk away without stopping him again.
It takes all of Will’s effort to ignore the crushing wave of humiliation that’s seized his body, especially when Mike wanders into their fifth period class and sits down right next to Will like he always does, like nothing’s different. Will can tell that Mike is looking at him, is probably waiting for Will to look his way so he can make sad, soft eyes at him and tell Will in the nicest possible way that pining after him is pathetic because he’ll never feel the same. In Will’s mind, there’s no good way for this situation to end, so he keeps his head turned the other direction, watching as students file in and fill up their seats.
A moment later, just before the bell rings to signify the start of their geometry lesson, Mike leans over toward Will’s desk with a pencil in hand, working quickly to scribble something in the corner of Will’s notebook before Will can ask what’s happening or tell him to stop.
When he looks down at the page in front of him, Will sees a messy, slightly crooked heart sitting just in the top margin of the paper, Will’s name scrawled sloppily in the very middle of it. His breath stops in his throat, like suddenly his rib cage is pressed too tightly around his lungs.
Will spends the entire lesson distracted by the drawing at the top of the page, reaching up to touch it with disbelieving fingers, his pulse singing through his veins and something pleasant unfolding itself in his chest as he traces the lines until they’ve smudged against the skin of his fingers and marked him with their meaning.
Summary: Y/N has lived next to Peter since the 3rd grade and since has fallen hard for him, but Y/N doesn’t know he’s fallen just as hard.
Word count: 2,145
Songs: Midnight City by M83, Uh huh by Julia Michaels
A/N: This is my first Imagine ever so I’m sorry for the grammar mistakes and if i messed up the point of view a little bit, I’m practicing and heres my first go at it! I hope you guys enjoy it! Also its not a concrete idea yet but i might make more parts to this
“Hey, MJ does Peter ever talk about me?” you ask staring across the lunch room at the boy you’ve had a crush on ever since you laid eyes on him in the 3rd grade. You hear Michelle sigh and close her book “Y/N just go over there and talk to him.” your eyes widen at your best friend for suggesting such a thing. “I can’t just go over there and talk to him without cause, plus..” you sigh sinking further into your seat at the lunch table “he likes Liz, remember?” Just before Michelle can get a word in about your lack of confidence towards guys, the bell rings signaling the end of lunch and beginning of the five minuet passing period to the next class.
You quickly gather your things heading out of the lunchroom and to your next class, gym.
“Hey, Y/N wait up!” you hear the familiar voice of Liz speak as everyone makes their way out of the locker rooms and into the main gym. You falter in your walk just a little hearing Liz say your name, you haven’t ever really been friends or even acquaintances with her since knowing that Peter has a crush on the girl. “Yes?” you smile as she slows her pace next to you “I’m having a party tomorrow night at my place, do you wanna come?” your mind goes blank for a minuet, Liz is asking me to her party? what? “I already asked Michelle if she could come and she said you were free so i thought i’d ask.” Liz practically read your mind, so Michelle is to blame, she’s gonna pay. “Yea, sure I’ll come, it sounds fun.” She smiles before she runs off ahead of you. “Hey Flash,” You hear her shout before she vanishes into the crowd of teenagers.
“Alright, well i think he’s a war criminal now but these are state required so lets get to work .” The gym teacher spoke after the video of Captain America ended waving his hand for everyone to get down from the bleachers and take their places on the mats.
You finally spot Michelle in the crowd of teenagers and grabbed ahold of her arm before she could lay on a mat. “Hey could we be partners?” You ask letting go of your bestie laying on the mat, “Mind if we take this mat next to you guys?” A voice that made your heartstrings tingle spoke, you quickly turn your head to see Peter laying down and getting ready to go his first sit-up. “No-not at all.” you blush and turn on your other side to come face to face with a book “Michelle” You groan louder than intended, “We’re suppose to be doing sit-ups.” You grab the book tilting it away from her face, Michelle sighs and turns on her back pushing her book up and down from her face “There happy, I’m exercising now.” She mumbled making you laugh slightly.
“Hey what about Spider-Man?” You sit up and whip your head around to the bleachers where a certain group of popular girls were sitting, “What about him Liz? You got a crush?” a friend of hers teased, “Well I mean yes he’s pretty hot but he’s also a hero you can’t leave him out.” You could see a slight pink shade her cheeks after she spoke.
“Hey, uh Peter knows Spider-Man!” Ned practically yelled from the mat next to you, what? how does Peter know Spider-Man? I mean maybe he got saved by him? But what? You were pulled from your thoughts when Peter spoke, “Well Uh we-wel yes i do, because of the Stark internship i have but i’m not suppose to talk about it.” Peter spoke through gritted teeth when he ended his sentence. “Wait Penis Parker knows Spider-Man? And has a Stark internship? Wow this is too good, what other lies ya got?” Flash finally joined the conversation. You sighed and turned your attention back to laying down and staring at the ceiling till the end of the period.
“Well if you know him so well why don’t you invite him to Liz’s party tomorrow night?” Flash asked sarcasm clear in his voice, “Wait-wait Liz is having a party?” You perked up again at the sound of Peter’s slightly hurt voice. “Yeah, tomorrow night, my parents are out of town, you and Ned are more than welcome to come and you don’t gotta bring Spider-Man.” You could practically hear the smile in Peters voice when he replied “No-No yeah I’d love to come.” You rolled your eyes and tried to drown out the rest of the conversation.
“Okay, see ya tomorrow.” Liz spoke before the bell rang, finally. You make your way back to the locker room and change out of the gym uniform and into your regular clothes.
Well tomorrow night should be interesting, I wonder if Peter really knows Spider-Man you smile at the thought, that’d be fucking awesome.
Michelle and you took the bus together after school planning on having a sleepover and carpooling to Liz’s party the next day. “I can’t believe you already said i would go without asking me.” you lightly punch Michelle on the arm while getting ready for bed. “Hey what better things do you have going on tomorrow, staring at peter though the peep hole of your apartment again?” Michelle teased, you gasped and placed your hand on your heart pretending to be hurt by the comment. “Michelle that is an important activity and I cannot miss it.” You dramatically said and plopped down onto your bed for the night, the couch. Michelle and you always sleep on her couch for sleepovers, its big enough and comfy as hell.
“Oh whatever Y/N.” she groaned taking her place on the couch and turning on the tv. Within minuets your eyes start to get heavy, you finally give into the sleep tugging at you and fall asleep.
“Thanks for the ride!” you shout at Michelle’s dad before Michelle slams the car door shut. MJ and you start towards the front door already hearing the loud music coming from inside. “Michelle are you sure about this?” You ask grabbing her arm forcing her to stop and look at you “Look Y/N, when are you ever gonna do something like this ever again. Plus, its all apart of the high school experience.” She shrugged making her way to the front door and inside with you trailing behind her.
You were immediately greeted by Liz and shown the way to the kitchen “incase you need something to drink” Liz told you leaving you and focused her attention back onto the party. “Ok so now I Just wait for something to happen?” you spoke to yourself as you grabbed a red solo cup and filled it with water from the fridge. You made your way out of the kitchen and to the couch in the living room, where did MJ go? I’m like the only other person besides Liz she knows here so where - your thoughts were interrupted when your eyes met with the chocolatey eyes of the boy you’ve been waiting for all night.
You smile towards Peter earning a grin back from him before his attention was sent somewhere else, probably Flash shouting “wheres your friend Spider-man? I don’t see him..” You rolled your eyes and made your way over to the duo standing in the middle of the hallway, “Hey hey guys,” you nervously spoke “Finally made it.” you smiled over at Ned, his attention on the rest of the party and not you. “Yeah we got-” Peter got interrupted by a shout from the family room “If you wanna play a game come to the family room now!” you felt a hand wrap around your arm before you could protest you were in the family room seated next to Liz, Peter diagonally across from you with ned next to him and Michelle on your other side.
“Alright,” you heard Liz speak next to you “what game should we play.” a couple of hands flew up in the air and some people shouted suggestions. “How about Seven Minuets In Heaven?!” one voice shouted louder than the others, you looked over at Liz to see she was already ginning with a bottle being handed to her. “Seven Minuets In Heaven it is.” She quickly snapped her head over at you “Y/N, you spin first.” she shoved the bottle into your hand.
“No-no I’m really fine-” you didnt get to finish when you felt a sharp pain in your side from Michelle, your head spun to her side giving her a “what the hell!” look and receiving a shrug in response. You sucked in a breath, all apart of the high school experience right? you tried to reason with yourself. You put the bottle on its side on the ground and spun it, your heat begins beating faster and faster as it comes to a slow down. The bottle finally comes to a stop and your eyes rake up to where it landed, Peter Parker.
You gulped waiting for his reaction as people around him whopped for him but he just sat there eyes wide. “come one you too!” Liz sounded so gleeful and lightly shoved my shoulder for me to get up. Peter must’ve took that as a hint as well and stood up “Wher-uh What closet should we go to?” Peter asked clearing his voice. “the one right at the top of the stairs, we’ll make sure no one goes in.” Liz smiled at Peter and you while you made your way up the stairs. Oh god, what am i going to do, what if he doesn’t want to do anything with me? what if he kisses me and I’m not a good kisser or my breathe stinks- you were ripped out of your thoughts as the closet door was closed and Peter and you were left in the dark.
“uh we-we don’t have to do anything.” you whispered barely audible as you watched Peter set a timer on his phone for seven minuets. “Wh-why don’t we ask each other questions?” Peter asked making a blush creep onto your face, thank god this closet is dark and peters phone light is horrible. “sure-e” you nervously stutter, “you first.” you poke his chest earning a small laugh from him. “Okay, is it true that you have a 4.0 grade average?” You couldn’t help the laugh that escaped your lips, “What?” Peter asked you could hear the confusion in his voice, “thats the question you wanna ask?” you placed your hand on Peters arm, what am I doing? I’m movign way too fast, “Is that bad?” Peter moved closer to you making you back up into the wall of the closet, your smile fading and a deeper bush replacing it. “uh-no no, I’d just rather not answer it.” You spoke truthfully, “alright,” you could see the smile form on peters face as he inched closer to you.
“your turn.” he whispered making your breath hitch in your throat, he’s so close, if i just move forward slightly i’d finally have my first kiss and with the guy of my dreams, you thought. “you got a question yet?” Peters smile started fading looking into your eyes, “uh- yes, did you really make your own computer?” your eyes scanned peters, he’s so close you can see his beautiful brown ombre iris’s, dark brown to a slightly lighter brown. Your breath hitched in your throat again as Peter flashed his eyes down to your lips for a split second. You start to lean into him, closer and closer to his face when your lips just barely graze each other and then Peters phone goes off.
He jumped back slightly from the sudden noise and looked down at his phone, “Has it already been seven minuets?” You laugh slightly feeling embarrassed for getting so intimate with Peter. “No..” he paused looking up from his phone and into your eyes “But i gotta, I’m really sorry Y/N, I gotta go.” He shook his head slightly before opening the closet and leaving you behind. you stood there shocked, not able to move. Peter and I almost kissed was all you could think as a deep blush crept back onto your face.
You exited the closet and went to see if you could find him at the party anywhere. you got a few weird looks after asking some people if they saw him anywhere but no one could help, not even Ned knew where Peter went.
“Well it’s too bad, we didn’t even get to see his ‘friend’ Spider-Man.” Flash spoke sarcastically to you, you just turned around to go look for MJ and tell her about what had happened, how you almost kissed your life long crush and how he almost kissed you back.
Got your attention, didn’t it? GOOD. Now that you’re here:
Humans Are Weird ™
I know. Anyway - I was in the dentist this morning and I had a thought. It isn’t necessarily about teeth. Those of you hopelessly addicted to Dragon Age will recognize that phrase up there in reference to some apparently gorgeous-looking, truly-heinous petit fours. Apparently they’re…I don’t know? Delicious but killing you while you eat them. Pain, but, you know “worth it!”
So there I was, getting my teeth scraped and belt sanded clean and I realized that (along with the oh-so-nice slick feeling of clean teeth) I was really looking forward to my teeth aching all day. I know. Weird. But it’s like when I had braces - I hated the rubber bands, the jerk orthodontist, getting food stuck, and the brackets scraping up the inside of my mouth. What I didn’t hate was when I got adjustments and my teeth would dully ache for days. How messed up is that? It was my own Exquisite Death. A sweet ache.
Doesn’t have to be my brand of weird. Maybe for you it’s muscles. How they ache after a good run, a good workout. You hate it while it’s happening, but afterwards, when there’s that aching tingle of a muscle well-used, it’s pretty glorious.

“Human-Denton!” The alien’s too-large eyes were wide and unblinking as he looked down on his charge who had yet to get up off the floor. Urrut was supposed to be keeping watch over this human, but he was hard to keep track of - he was constantly moving and hardly ever asleep.
Holding an arm up, Denton let it fall to the ground. Hard. Muscles aching and protesting any sort of movement. “Gimme a minute.”
“Are you in distress? Shall I call a medic? Why did you do all of that - you are…oozing! Is this normal? Shall I call a medic?” Urrut’s sticky feet peeled up from the mat - first one than the other as he shifted uneasily.
“You asked that twice,” Denton gave a wheezing laugh. “I had to see if I could do it. Gotta push yourself, Ur. Gonna hurt like hell tomorrow.”
“I am calling a medic.”
“No, Urrut-” Oh it hurt, but he sat up. Rubbing his arms, he worked the stiffness threatening to set in. “I’m fine. I swear.” Next was his legs, and then he could get up. He wasn’t kidding. It was going to hurt tomorrow, but… “Worth it.”

Maybe you’re one of those people who gets a bruise and pokes at it “because it makes it heal faster”. Let’s be real. You just like the ache of it. Reminds you that you’re alive, that you can feel, that you did something amazing or stupid or amazingly stupid.

Shore leave was over, and as the crew made their way back on board, Meera found herself watching two of the human engineers talking and laughing about what they had done with their free time, and then…then they did something odd. One peeled back the shoulder of their jacket, and the other lifted the hem of their top covering to reveal discolorations - bruises.
They were laughing about them. They were proud of them. And - she was sure her face was a mash of confusion and disgust and horror - they were prodding at each others bruises, hurting each other, and laughing about it!
Barbarians the lot of them.

Maybe it’s food. Oh god, there’s no way you don’t know someone (or aren’t that someone) that eats good that hurts. Too hot. Too spicy. Too…dairy (lactose intolerant people, I feel for you.)

The lunchroom erupted in laughter as Aimee all but bathed in the water she was pouring into her mouth, down her throat, and all over the front of her clothes. She hopped around, flailing her hands, tears streaming down her face until someone shoved a glass of white, opaque liquid into her hands and she carefully drank it as though it were the most precious nectar.
Taking flight, Zzirxax zoomed across the room, hovering nearby, “What just happened? Is she okay?”
Through laughter and cursing and what Zzirxax came to understand that the humans had done something called a ‘dare’, and that it involved Human-Aimee consuming the hottest pepper from Galmeria-6. When asked why, why would she do that, the reply was predictably human.
“Won, didn’t I?” Mouth open a moment, fanning air towards it with her hand, Aimee took a deep breath and wiped away another tear. “So worth it.”
“Don’t you see the red light?” Bill shook his head and thumped his hand on the side of the bulky camera. There was a few seconds of frizzling sounds before it beeped awake. He looked through the viewfinder and was able to get a slightly foggy vision of their classroom, he moved slightly and it zoomed right in on Richie’s gigantic glasses.
“Get my good side Bill!” Richie chuckled as Bill tried to figure out how to zoom out.
“You don’t have one!” Came Stans voice from his desk to the right. Bill followed the sound and focused directly on him. Stan was sitting at his desk with folded hands over his color coded binder. He avoided looking at the camera entirely. Bill looked down at the blinking year in the corner and smiled.
“Where d-do you think you’ll be in t-ten years, Stan?” Bill asked the one question he’d been assigned to ask his senior class. Though he knew he would end up without much footage of anyone else besides the losers club.
“Hopefully I won’t know Richie anymore.” Stan joked and Richie objected loudly from his desk. Bill zoomed in on Stan writing his name in the corner of his paper, writing the date of their last day of high school. “I don’t know…a teacher maybe?” He shrugged. The bell rang momentarily and Bill moved to get some shots of the approaching senior class. Their teacher hopping directly out of shot.
“A-and there s-s-she is, finally.” Bill teased and moved the camera onto Beverly, five minutes late. She curtsyed and gave him the finger. She narrowed her eyes at the camera and inspected it.
“What’s with the camera?” She crossed her arms.
“He’s filming the last day of high school cause he’s a dork!” Richie shouted once again from his desk and Bill got a beautiful shot of Beverly throwing her head back in laughter. She glanced back at the camera from over her shoulder.
“W-where ya gonna be in ten years, B-Bev?”
She tapped her chin in thought and licked her lips. “Well I’d like to be in art…Y'know drawings good.” She shrugged, a little awkwardly. And Bill took the opportunity to zoom in on her. She glared at the sound and pushed him away. The screen going black. The last thing heard was a teasing “Fuck off Bill”
The fuzziness focuses to the setting of the lunch room, Bill twirls the camera around to spy on fellow students before he heard a voice call to him “Get footage of the cutest couple in the school!” so Bill turned back and adjusted the camera to capture Mike giving him the thumbs up as he leaned in front of Richie who had his arm slung over Eddie, dragging a pen across an open yearbook.
“What are ya d-doing, Rich?” Bill asked and zoomed in on the fast moving pen.
“Signing Eds yearbook.” He smiled proudly and held up his work, The camera caught it before Bill could process what it was and what it was, was a crude inappropriate drawing. He quickly pulled the camera away, landing it on Ben who was working hard on decorating his graduation cap as a ‘Ah Jeez Richie, you couldn’t just sign it could you?, you shit!’ could be heard in the background.
“A-and w-where will you be in ten years, Ben?” Bill made sure to show off Ben’s handwork on his hat. Bev was curled up on the seat next to him, watching over his shoulder with a neglected peanut hanging from her hand, pointing towards her mouth.
“Hopefully in architecture….”Ben glanced up at Bev when he thought she wasn’t looking, Bill caught the flicker in which Ben thought ‘And I hope she’s with me’. He smiled proudly at the shot.
“Mike, t-ten years?” Bill moved over to get Mike in shot, who was throwing peanuts into Richie’s mouth. He made a long shot and smiled triumphantly.
“With you guys, for sure.” Mike said without even a thought and tossed another peanut and the six of them ‘aw’d’ simultaneously. Bill couldn’t hold back his huge grin, but the camera blocked most of his face from his friends. He followed a lone peanut as it soared into Richie’s mouth.
“R-Rich, Eddie, ten years?”
Richie pulled Eddie close to his side. “With Eddies mom for sure.” Bill zoomed in close to get a tight shot of Eddies face and quickly had to zoom out to capture him pushing his side and knocking Richie onto the lunchroom floor.
“If i’m still dealing with him in ten years…”Eddie looked dead into the camera with a begrudgingly happy annoyed face.
“You’ll be one happy man, Eds!” Richie shouted from the floor. The camera faded to black to the sounds of their laughter.
The shot was a close one of Stan’s lightning fast hand, turning his lock to get into his locker. “H-he gets it right every time, folks.” Bill chuckled as he spoke to whatever audience was ever going to see this. “Never f-f-forgot his combo…n-never been locked out.” he continued as Stan urgently threw the door open to block Bills shot of him with a smile.
“Him however….” Bill turned around and zoomed in one Richie trying to jerk his locker open with Eddie opening his like it was no problem at his side. Bill laughed to himself. Stan closed his locker door and started off to his class, Bill quickly chased after him.
“A-a-any comments, S-stanley? I mean it’s your last day of high school?” He poked the camera in his face as Stan laughed.
“Get that shitty thing out of my face!” He pushed Bills shoulder and the camera faded to black once again.
—”Ok, ok but what about you Bill?” Mike asked from his desk, pushing aside a textbook with an interested face. Bill shrugged to show him he needed to elaborate. Mike reached over and took the camera, capturing a few blurred whizzes around the classroom. He focused on Bill, behind him on the chalkboard were their last assignments as seniors. “Ten years…go” Mike captured the rolling gesture of his hand. Bill laughed in thought.
“A writer…y’know t-t-those stories you a-all like so much. Maybe you’ll read them in a b-book someday.” He said with a mocking gusto. Mike chuckled and was able to capture the last bell of their school days. They gave each other the biggest grins and Mike zoomed in on the students passing the open door, all pushing against each other with excitement and shouting. At some point the kids in the hall seemed to split to opposite sides. Bill and Mike gave each other confused looks until…..
Richie whizzed down the hall and through Mikes shot on a small skateboard shouting along the way ‘We’re fuckin done here! after four years, woooooo’ Following after him, on running feet, were Beverly, Stan, Ben, and a very annoyed Eddie.
“C’mon!” Mike handed Bill his camera and they both ran out to catch up.
Bill was zoomed on rattling keys that were being shook in front of him. “Eddie’s letting me drive!” Richie shouted as he zoomed out to get a full shot of the group in front of Eddies car.
“No he’s not!” Eddie shouted back, out of shot. Ben stuck his finger in his ear and cringed.
“For such a small guy Eddie, you sure can yell.” He chuckled and Eddie snorted. Bill panned the camera to get a shot of each of his friends. Beverly stuck her tongue out, Mike pointed the classic finger guns, Ben just smiled, Stan looked away with a grin and chuckled, Richie winked and pulled Eddie into the view, who nodded with a smirk as if to say ‘Yup, this is my life right now…and I love it.’
The rest of the film Bill shot were odd clips of them in the car together. One of Beverly and Richie screaming the lyrics to ‘Back In Black’
Stan gazing happily out the window, quietly mouthing the words to ‘Imagine’ as his curls blew in the wind from the slightly cracked window.
Mike reaching over his seat to shove Richie after some Joke he must’ve made and then Richie proceeding to grab his arm to pull him over the seat and onto Beverly, Stan and Himself.
Ben waving his finished product, his decorated cap with a plaster picture of the seven of them, under it read ‘The Losers club’. A chorus of ‘yeahs!’ followed.
Eddie playing it off like he wasn’t just passionately singing along to ‘Daydream Believer’ and shoving the camera away at the stoplight.
half of one of Richie’s jokes
all of them in hysterics, laughing so loud at god knows what. Beverly knocking her head back against the seat. Mike falling down to a laying position, undoubtedly clutching his stomach.
A shot of Bill, and everyone trying to squeeze in behind him at some gas station.
It was August 20th, the first day of senior year. You were pretty excited, you honestly felt this was going to be a great year. You guess you were also happy this was the last year of high school. You got up and turned off your alarm. Your phone read, 7:15. You’d only lived a couple of minutes away from school, so you could afford to sleep in a little more.
You got up and grabbed your uniform out of your closet. Yet another reason to be excited about this school year, you only had to wear this god awful thing one more year. You got dressed and went to the bathroom, going through your morning routine. Once you were done and ready you grabbed your backpack and headed downstairs. You went into the kitchen and saw your mom and dad eating breakfast.
Your dad looked up from the paper, “Y/N, look at you. You’re up before noon, how does that feel,” his smile was contagious.
“Forced,” You smiled.
He laughed and went back to his paper. “Y/N,” your mom spoke.
She walked over to the table handing you two paper sacks. “Your and Yoongi’s lunch for today.”
You smiled and looked up at her, “Thanks Mom.”
“Sure,” she spoke as she sat down at the table. You’d started to eat some toast that was on the table when Yoogi rushed in.
“Sorry I’m late,” Yoongi shouted from the hallway as he came into the kitchen.

Pairing: Loser’s Club x Reader, slight Henry x Reader (you’ll see) Richie x Reader and very slight Eddie x Reader
Warnings: force, bullying, depressing and sad tones, and sexual abuse (mild) plus Henry being a dick, so….
The next day you walked into school with a skip in your step. It wasn’t just that it was Friday, meaning another hell week done, or the fact that you almost felt free in a sense. Or that your mother hadn’t been home when you finally got home yourself, and you woke up to a silent house. There was more and you couldn’t describe the feeling that ran through you, other than for the first time in a long time you felt happy. And it was weird, because you hadn’t felt that way in so long.
Of course, the morning hadn’t been flawless. You received many looks because of the bruise on your cheek, which no matter how many layers you wore, you couldn’t cover up. Ms. Green had even gone out of her way to ask you what had happened or if you needed to see someone, you’d made some bullshit excuse up about tripping or something. You didn’t really remember.
Though you knew, realistically she didn’t care.
And of course, your science teacher give you another lecture about you skipping detention and when you were going to make that time up… but it didn’t really matter.
You most definitely didn’t express your happiness in anyway, and mainly kept to yourself despite the small smile on your lips. And the biggest plus of all was that you hadn’t seen Henry all day, which had actually been a fear of the day. You figured he’d just skipped or something, but you didn’t really care. Belch and Victor were at school though, and they did their very best to ignore you as well.
Smiling contently, you shut the door to your locker with a satisfying click. Your hand hanging there for a moment longer than normal with a sigh, still, life might be looking up but now…. you had no one to eat lunch with. The very bottom of your list of problems was having no one to eat with, but normally you’d have Henry. Now, you didn’t even have him. You turned your head in the direction of the cafeteria, biting your lip before looking in the direction of the exit. You never really ate during lunch, so there was no need to sit alone at a table for thirty five minutes.
Nodding to yourself, you turned in the direction of the exit, fully prepared to spend your lunch break intoxicating your lungs. But, as you made your way through the crowed hallways a hand gripped your wrist and tugged you back. For a split second you feared it was Henry until an arm wrapped around your shoulder and you were pressed into the side of a lanky, bony body. “Richie!”
