luke see

i was really proud of simon for not giving into clary’s emotional appeal to him after their visit to the seelie court. that boy has to learn how to start prioritizing himself and his people and the downworld in general. i’m not saying that he should cut off all ties with the shadowhunters. i’d love for him to do that, but it’s not consistent with his character. he’s a forgiving person at his core, so he would never stop being friends with clary or izzy or anyone else, but like it really is high time for him to be with and prioritize his people.

something that trapped both luke and simon for so long is clary. luke was also prioritizing clary over his people, i think not only because he cares for her but also because of the obligation and guilt he felt after jocelyn’s death. and now we clearly see that luke is prioritizing his people at every turn and refuses to let the shadowhunters get away with bullshit. hopefully, we can see simon do the same thing. because the way clary treats the people of color she cares about is absolutely unfair and imbalanced (in terms of the power dynamic) and i’ve been saying this since the day season 2 aired!

Any take on Luke as just a normal kid whining about freedom should probably account for the fact that he lives on a lawless desert planet controlled by gangsters who kept his father and grandmother as slaves

Lorelai Gilmore Appreciation Week 2017
Day 2 | Favorite Relationship ➡ Lorelai and Luke

Well, all I can say is, you’re lucky I’m back in your life, because clearly you were lost without me. I mean, it’s a miracle you’re even still alive. Right? You bet.
