I have had only one encounter with Giratina….It was during a great cataclysm of time and space. It seems that few legendaries tend to agree with one another, as they are on opposing sides or forces, and this was no exception. Palkia and Dialga were pitted against one-another over a human city that neither could decide who it belonged to.

Their warring caused the beast of the reverse world to awaken and come into this one. Needless to say that the disruption in harmony had alerted me as well, and I went to see if there was any aid I could offer. Suddenly, the universe seemed to split in two as a being crossed over the barrier, headed in the direction of the fighting. While no words were exchanged, I could feel the tension in their body, the rage and resentment they had for being trapped in the world between…

They left suddenly, headed towards the source of the quarrel and I stayed back. It was not my job to interfere with matters of this magnitude and so, instead, I stayed at the ready should something go wrong. The issue resolved itself in time, thanks once again to a particular human, and I returned to my duties.

So I cannot rightly say my perception of Giratina, but I admire their dedication and yet am sympathetic about their isolated state. Indeed it is a heavy burden we legendaries carry sometimes.

“Disturb not the harmony of fire, ice or lightning,
lest these titans wreak destruction upon the world in which they clash.
Though the water’s great guardian shall arise to quell the fighting,
alone its song will fail, and thus the Earth shall turn to ash.
O Chosen One, into thine hands bring together all three.
Their treasures combined tame the Beast of the Sea.”
