“I actually spoke to Lucy before the game because we’ve only had Kelly Smith ever on the short-list for FIFA World Player of the Year and I said to her before the game: ‘this is your stage and you’re our next player who I believe personally can get on that list and have that recognition as an England player.’” - Alex Scott on Lucy Bronze ahead of the 2017 FA Cup Final
I am an avid reader. A huge Fitzgerald fan. The Great Gatsby, his masterpiece. But I’m no snob. I love some good Grisham. I think Seinfield is the best american television show for the past 50 years, but I love Lucy is all time. The Loving Cup episode was the best, I think. Huge Scorsese fan. I can watch Taxi Driver over and over again. As far as music, it’s pretty much across the board. Um, Dylan, Hendrix, Patsy, Willie. Oh, Kanye. You know what, I even like that one Miley song.

You slowly turned the pages of your book completely
enveloped in every word the page offered you. Sleeping was almost impossible
without your boyfriend Lucifer beside you so you often woke up in the middle of
the night to sneak downstairs and read books.
The familiar sound of wings filled the once quiet room. As
soon as you saw Lucifer, you threw the book down on the coffee table not
bothering that you lost your page and immediately ran up to him pulling him
into your arms.
“I missed you,” you mumbled into his chest. That’s when you
realised, he wasn’t hugging back.
“Y/N, we have to talk,” Lucifer murmured sadly picking you
to carry you to the sofa.
He knew how this was going to end and he so desperately didn’t
want to say the few words that would leave you broken.
Lucifer stared at the ground in front of him. He couldn’t
look you in the eyes as he said it, “we have to break up.”
In that moment it felt as if he had physically ripped out
your heart. Tears welled up in your eyes as you chocked out “What? I don’t
“I’m sorry,” Lucifer’s eye’s became glossy at the thought of
knowing how much he had hurt you but he knew it was to keep you safe.
“Just… Just tell me why,” you sobbed at tears ran down your
face. It took everything for Lucifer to not pull you into his arms and comfort
“Y/N, I’m sorry, I can’t. It’s better if I-“
“Please Luci, tell me,” you begged with urgency.
“It’s because I love you!” he raised his voice locking his
teary eyes with yours.
“You’re not safe with me, both angels and demons want you
dead and if you died because of me I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. I
care too much about you for that to happen. Y/N I love you,” Lucifer cupped his
hands on your cheeks.
“Luci… I love you too,” you breathed.
His lips connected with yours with more passion than ever before.
You closed your eyes to avoid more tears from falling down your face and put
your hand on the back of his neck.
After what felt like an eternity the sound of wings filled
the room for the last time and when you finally opened your eyes, the love of
your life and soulmate was gone.
The nurses hurried around as the doctor kept watch over Lucy.
If it had been under different circumstances than Natsu would’ve punched him in
the face but considering what was happening, and the fact that Lucy had already
had a word with him earlier, he had to let it go.
Lucy let out another scream of pain and he thought his hand
was going to brake right then until he heard the cries of a baby. Natsu’s dark
green eyes turned and saw the doctor with the baby in their arms, his baby. He
could only make out the tuft of golden hair on the top of his child’s head
before the nurse came and wrapped it up in a fresh white towel.
His gaze turned to Lucy who was panting and looked close to
exhaustion. She had done this. She had that baby, their baby, in her stomach
and gave birth to it. Lucy had made a new life. Natsu’s eyes brimmed with tears
as soon the baby with placed into the new mother’s arms.
“It’s a boy,” the nurse murmured softly to the new parents
before hurrying off. Lucy had fresh tears sliding down her face as she tiredly
looked down at her son and then to her husband. Natsu’s mouth fell open in awe
as he stared at his child.
“Lucy,” he whispered before locking his gaze with her, “I can’t
believe you just.” He stumbled on his words and soon a stray tear fell down his
own face, “I knew you were amazing but just. Oh wow.” Lucy chuckled as she
reached out a hand to cup Natsu’s face.
“I love you so much,” she murmured and now Natsu was flooding
with tears that he desperately tried to wipe away.
“I love you,” he replied, “I love you, I love you, I love you.”
Natsu repeated until he stopped to press his lips against hers. “I love you so
damn much, Luce,” Natsu sniffled, “We’re a family now and you. You did all of
this. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Lucy closed her eyes and hummed in response as a soft smile
tugged at her lips while Natsu rambled to her and their new baby about all the
things the three of them would do together as a family. His eyes sparkled in
excitement and admiration for his wife who had given him this gift, this
opportunity, to have a family and begin a whole new adventure.
